Chapter 63: Player University

Squatting down, I took a seat on the bed and clicked on the message.

[ApexHunter101, it’s our pleasure to inform you that you have been accepted into the prestigious Player University.]

Reading the message, I sighed in relief. It looked as if Alfred’s recommendation worked.

I’ll have to thank him again when I see him.

[The acceptance ceremony will commence tomorrow at 8 a.m. on the Player University Campus. ARRIVE ON TIME! Failure to do so will cause application to be denied until the next recruitment process.]

I’ll have to go there tomorrow? It was a bit short notice, considering this message only came in just a few hours ago.

Plus, the university wasn’t even in this city.

Sighing to myself, I threw the phone on the bed and headed into the bathroom to take a shower.

Apart from the cut on my forehead, I wasn’t really injured except for a few bruises.

At one point during the fight, I could’ve sworn my ribs were broken, but luckily it wasn’t.

This was all due to my high defense. It was definitely my stand-out stat. The reason for this is because of my constant molting in Vesperia.

It made my body tougher and sturdier than most. That player used magic to enhance his strength.

Anyone else would’ve been down in one hit.

Alfred was right. People are beginning to take notice of my rise. The Wild Hog guild was just the first to take action, but there will be more.

I have to get stronger.

The next morning, before Amelia or Lily woke up, I climbed out of bed since I had to catch the early morning train to arrive at the university campus on time.

I left a note on the nightstand explaining everything.

The travel between cities and settlements was through underground trains. Since everything outside the bubble was considered the danger zone, underground trains were actually one of the safest ways of traveling.

The city I was currently heading to was called Solari, and it was currently the biggest city in the world.

Solari was where the Player Association resides. It’s often regarded as the capital but was never officially named so.

It’s also where the city leaders would gather to hold meetings and such. Solari wasn’t ruled over by any major guild, which made it a safe space for everyone.

The moment the train arrived in the city, I could feel a change. Where Asmura was modernized, Solari felt a bit more futuristic.

Immediately, as we exited the train, a holographic map of the city was handed to all passengers.

Using the map, I made my way through the bustling city until I arrived just outside the gate of the university.

Even from the outside, the campus felt massive, and the magic in the air was comparable to Vesperia.

Regaining my composure, I took my first step through the gate and made my way to the assembly room. I could help but awe at the sophistication and size of the campus as I walked.

Soon I arrived at thw assembly room.

Taking a deep breath, I shoved the door to the room open. Inside were four players standing at a distance from each other.

This can’t be everyone. Is it?

It felt as if I was being invited to this secret elite club.

And compared to how everyone here was dressed, I was definitely the odd one out.

Although tempted to turn back, I still entered the eerie room. At the center of the room were chairs where everyone could sit but none of them decided to sit their

But unlike everyone who was sticking to the corners of the room, I decided to sit in the middle with my back to the door.

I could sense everyone in the room, even if they were out of sight, so I didn’t need to make a point of being on guard.

A few minutes later, just as the clock ticked 8, the door to the room swung open, and a well-dressed man in a business suit entered. He reminded me a little of Alfred, except he seemed in his late 30s.

He had an elongated face and a mustache above his lip.

He slowly entered the room, his eyes looking at all of us. His expression was unreadable.

He paused in the center of the room before addressing us.

"Welcome, all of you, to the Player University. I am Professor Altman, the chairman and also the 27th-ranked player," he boldly declared.

He didn’t have to raise his voice, yet still it rang through the entire room.

"Our goal in this university is simple. It is to train the players that will one day clear the game."

The moment he mentioned clearing the game, I looked around, and no one in the room seemed surprised.

This meant they all knew it was possible to clear the game.

"At this university, we offer you top-notch training facilities and also the opportunity to work with players who are long-time veterans. We also offer you highly classified information about the game world that most would never uncover even after a hundred years of playing.

In return, we expect you to train diligently so that we may one day find out what lies beyond the game."

Of course, my goal here was to learn as much as I can about Vesperia. This place will help me uncover its secrets, and by piecing it all together, I can get a clue on scenarios that will help me complete the game.

"I implore you to take in the faces of the people around you. Since as of now, while you’re at this university, this will be your party. You will advance and learn together."

Our party? At his words, I began taking in the faces of the players around me.

They all seemed around my age, if not slightly older or younger. There were four of them in total.

Two males and two females.

"You will not only gain knowledge at this university, but you will also gain strength. We will guide you on using your abilities to the fullest. You will also be tested in various ways, and it is only by proving yourselves that you will unlock deeper knowledge at this university. Currently, you are all rank 6 members in this university.

The closer you get to rank 1, the more information and authority will be given to you."

A part of me was hoping that they would just hand over every piece of information they had on hand the moment r we joined, but I knew that wouldn’t be plausible.

Just then, the door to the room opened once again. Except this time, it was a young woman who entered the room.

She had beautiful blonde hair that cascaded down to her waist. An amused smile played on her face as she entered the room, but by far the most intriguing thing about her was that she had no presence.

If it wasn’t for the fact that I was looking at her right now, I wouldn’t have known she was even in the room.

She was completely undetectable by the rest of my senses!

"Ah, I would like to introduce you all to the woman who will be overseeing your studies and training while you’re at this university, GoddessOfLust, say hi to your new students."
