Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy
Chapter 3584: The New Formation
The effects of a formation or script depended on three pillars.
The first pillar was the energy that ran it. The stronger the energy, the better everything would run. In this instance, the energy being used to activate the formation inside Alex’s Soul Space was run using the aura of dead Primordials.
To make use of such a strong energy, one needed materials with high durability as well. So, durable materials were the second of the pillars that a formation or script depended on.
A lot of materials would likely be unable to handle the script that had just activated, but after testing it numerous times, Battlesage had deemed it possible for Dragon scales to do the work.
The last of the pillars was the person making the formation or script. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
In this instance, Battlesage was someone who had learned and practiced making runes and scripts for hundreds of thousands of years. He went around Hell, helping form formations that would keep at bay Sun Wraiths from the various tribes. He made certain that the people of Hell lived despite the monstrous beasts that ran around the place.
He was also a very talented individual who had surprised even the likes of the Sky God with his talent. As such, the formations he came up with weren’t any less ingenious. And given how long he had spent his time on this one, this was easily his magnum opus.
With the three pillars of such high caliber, the formation that Ray activated was bound to stun anyone who witnessed it.
The moment the formation activated, Alex sensed a burst of time aura assaulting his senses. The burst of energy also brought on a pressure in Alex’s soul that he couldn’t just ignore so easily. He had to handle it for the time being before it settled.
When it did, a strange aura permeated the entirety of the world inside his Soul Space.
The aura was the thickest at the center and at the edge of the land, with the aura being complete polar opposites of each other.
At the very center of the formation, which was just a short distance away from where the World Tree was, the realm was covered in temporal aura that sped up time at a tremendous rate.
Being in that region was no different than being inside one of the cultivation chambers inside the mountain that had now become more or less useless. Based on Alex’s senses, the rate of flow in that region was nearly 50 times as high as normal. That meant that for a single minute that passed outside, over 50 minutes would have passed in that region.
That certainly improved someone’s cultivation speed by a massive rate. Not only that, it would also help the World Tree grow at a quick rate now, barring the fact that they had to make sure it was fed well throughout the time, which was not much of an issue.
The effects of the aura lessened the further Alex moved his senses away from the center of the land. As he approached the halfway point between the center and the outer edge, the aura finally came to an end. There was a ring around the region where time moved at the correct rate, which for the world of course was whatever Alex was experiencing outside.
Then, as Alex moved his senses outward, the temporal rate reversed, and time started moving slowly. Based on Alex’s guesses, it was at a rate that was even better than what the previous Timeless Palace was.
Every day that one spent outside, nearly 2 years passed at the very edge.
There was of course a gradient to it, and so the aura lessened very quickly, but the edges were still incredible locations to spend time in if one wanted to waste a few decades outside in no time.
Battlesage had explained how the formation was supposed to work at the start, so Alex understood what was happening in this place.
The formation wasn’t just a simple formation that could make time move slower in one place and faster in another. To make something that worked that way was most likely possible, but it wasted a lot of energy.
Instead, they had taken a lesson straight from the Timeless Palace and made it so that the formation drew in time aura from one place and pumped it into another. In this instance, all the scales on the outer region were drawing in the time aura, making time move at a snail’s pace. And that aura was then pumped at the center where time moved much faster.
The idea belonged to whoever it was that made the Timeless Palace, but thanks to it, Battlesage was able to develop a truly incredible formation that not just covered a small area such as a few rooms in a single mountain, but an entire massive island.
If not scattered throughout the land, the rates might have even been much faster, but this was exactly what Alex had wanted, so he more than appreciated it.
With a massive area such as this, he and Whisker could now start planting various alchemy ingredients and growing them in no time. The same could be done with Heavenly Silkworms as well.
And perhaps what Alex was looking forward to the most above all was the Dragon-blooded Pill Bugs’ reproduction being sped up. If he could get the pill bugs to reproduce at a ridiculous speed, he could have so many usable ones in no time at all.
Alex began feeling excited just thinking about it.
Before his thoughts went anywhere else, he saw something strange through his senses that he couldn’t see through Whisker’s senses at all.
A strange haze had formed around the center area of the island suddenly, like fog covering the land out of nowhere. Alex could not see anything inside the area, so he couldn’t help but be confused as to what was happening.
"What’s with the fog?" he finally asked. "Did something go wrong?"
The old man grinned. "No. Something actually went right."
