Eternal Emerald Dragon
Chapter 1816 - 1815 - Tapestry Layer
Lind awoke after a year. His body was fully healed and he was in his bed. He smiled at the fact he had no idea where he had been when he nearly killed himself.
A Divine Realm being put down for a year was no joke, let alone a Master Tier. He flexed his hands and feet. Everything responded but he felt a dull ache.
He seemed a little stiff.
He began to move through a simple Body Refining routine. He felt lighter swiftly and his head was clearer than he had ever felt. The world was very different to him now.
He reached out and he could almost feel it. The threads of the Tapestry. It was not fate nor was it some kind of imposed Heaven’s will. It was made by living beings themselves. It was chaos incarnate yet he could feel the flow of energy harmonizing.
The new layer was brighter than others and his harmony seemed to like it a lot! Bright emerald veins flowed throughout it and he found he could shift his perspective not only in time but along those same lines as well!
He saw hawkers in a mortal world to a Divine Realm Journeyman Tier facing down a massive tortoise in the Northern Continent.
They were only glimpses but he knew it was very powerful. It was also dangerous. He could influence events on mortals with a thought if he was not careful.
After his body felt better he assumed a lotus position to consolidate his foundation. It felt very unstable and rightly so.
Condensing 3 facets all at once was his only choice but it came with a lot of work after that. Months flew by before he felt like it was getting better. He was aware his family knew he was awake but they did not come rushing in.
They well knew he had to focus on his current task.
The Tapestry Layer was far more complex than the Time Layer. Time was a bit subjective to the facets he grasped. What that meant was he had condensed a Time Layer that was his best bet against the Bastard.
His second Master Tier layer was a different beast. He was not seeking power but something to let him look beyond battle skills. The Bastard was an undying monster that had not only lived through epochs but every iteration of his old selves.
There was no way he had not sought out any and all ways of power. Karu had affirmed he had always grown stronger but it never seemed to matter in the Eternal Realm.
So Lind had gone down a different path. Rather than forcing the Mystery to conform to facing the Bastard, he had attempted to find something resonant with himself and his harmony.
The current layer was very flexible. He was able to amass massive amounts of information and parse it in an instant! If something caused a massive disruption, he would be able to trace it with but a thought!
He also now understood what he had done for Pelia. Adding her to the pack essentially allowed her to share in his natural aura. The aura of a Divine Realm was able to protect her soul and body effectively so long as he was not too far away.
He checked quickly and was relieved to feel she was fine. He had to find out what he had done for 50 years as he had been lost in his enlightenment!
The first 2 facets were already fully understood by him. His life as a packleader made the first much clearer while the Bastard and his battle clarified the second.
The last facet he had barely condensed before he was destroyed. It was where the majority of his instability came from.
{A pattern can be damaged but never destroyed}
He frowned. On the face of it, he could interpret it as the overall pattern of life was not ripped apart no matter how severe the damage. The Bastard seemed like a good example of the most egregious kind, yet it did not settle.
The last few moments were quite foggy to him which was odd. His memory should not be impaired at all. He lost himself in cultivation and slowly his foundation consolidated until his emerald eyes opened in shock!
[WHAT?!] His thoughts reverberated outward like a shockwave. HIs weavings activated to contain and just barely did so. He was shaking and looked like a true wild beast as his scales appeared off and on.
His floor cracked as his power exceeded his weaving protections. The bed frame snapped from his aura alone before he got himself under control.
Cyntilla! He had seen Cyntilla right at the end and she led him to the final facet. How?! How was that possible?!
She was reborn by now, maybe several times over if she was unlucky. There was no way she should be able to reach him!
{GET DOWN HERE NOW!} He exerted his Divine Authority and he was not shocked that it cost him little. It seemed the spirits wanted to talk to him as well.
He was stunned when a pair arrived. They were ancient and unlike other spirits, they felt far more solid. They looked at him and smiled. In that smile he finally found a way to calm his raging emotions.
With a casual wave of his hands, the weavings and furniture was repaired.
[Spirits, what is going on?] The pair looked at him before the old woman began to giggle. The old man looked at her in disdain but then sighed.
{We came to ask you. You have condensed a new Mystery.} That caught Lind off guard. He calmed down even more and began to explain the first 2 facets.
The spirits actually became very interested and he also felt like he reached a better understanding even more than before. His foundation also felt far better.
[Now, what happened? There is no way a reborn person could reach me, right?] The old man actually turned to his companion and Lind felt his head throb. Whatever they were doing was dangerous to a Divine Realm!
It passed quickly and the old woman began to ask him questions. It was mostly recounting his condensation of the Tapestry Layer.
While the pain was hard to remember through, the bouts of relief from Haro’s actions helped him piece it together. The final moment where he saw Cyntilla also stood out.
As he spoke, Lind suddenly felt disconnected from his body. It was not like he was removed, but as if he was touching on something. The storm of connections appeared in front of him but there was a change.
He could see himself!
A network of thick connections flowed from him in all directions. He realized he had barely scraped the surface of what the Tapestry Layer could do!
The 2 spirits seemed to share his new vision and all 3 began to follow the vast network. Lind noticed the connections to his wives were the most vibrant. Only his mother had a stronger bond.
His children were all equal, even the ones had had no chance to meet due to his advancement to the Divine Lands. He felt sad about that.
He suddenly could see them and was able to see how their lives were in the Celestial Fields. Even his grandchildren!
Fey, Tal, and Jur were still connected to him but Jur’s was dimmer. It was clear why as he had made things complicated. She was happy and they were not as cold anymore.
Tal was stunningly as bright as Fey. He had not known she had forgiven him so completely!
The most sad one to him was Illyria. It was still there but it was almost gone! Yet, it meant it still endured.
As they extended the analysis, Lind began to see 2 very different connections. He smiled as the mix of dark blue and emerald were clear.
The pack bond extended to Ryl and Pelia. They were not equal like his family, but not overbearing. He was able to confirm both had proceeded much farther in their cultivation!
Ryl was a Moon Tier already! It was only 50 years! Even in the Divine Lands that was fast!
Pelia was now a World Realm, about half way through the Iron Tier. Considering her late start, that was shocking. Human potential dropped sharply in their 20s as a mortal. It was clear she had talent now that her body was repaired.
The final set of connecting shining to his Eyes were friends and acquaintances. There dwarfed in quantity his family by far yet the quality was all over. He was about to explore some of them when he froze.
There were very faint traces of connections going off not into the various worlds but floating in time! His Time Layer! The dead were still a part of him!
He shook as he quickly pushed his mind and he found one right away! Solon! He felt Solon!
The crooked smile and laid back attitude came back to him as well as the joy of his being married. His first child had made the man so giddy he had come to the Moebius Sect nearly dead drunk!
Tears welled as he really could see him again! Yet, unlike all the other connections, he felt strong resistance to manipulation. It made sense to him. Seeing the dead was enough and to refresh his memories.
He was about to move on when several of the connections were different to him. They were clearly dead, yet not? Shock filled all 3 as they understood!
Fully reincarnated souls, while lacking their memories of old lives, would still retain parts of them! Lind felt enlightenment slam into him!
His pattern was damaged but not destroyed! That was what the last facet was about!
He very carefully felt the shimmering lines of power and felt his body shake. Cyntilla! He felt Cyntilla!
He wanted to look but at the same time he didn’t. How much time had passed? She could be married and have kids. Could he accept that? She was not his wife anymore but the fact the connection was alive compared to Solon who was killed by a Fiend, it seemed to make a difference.
{You should stop. You do not yet have full control and a disturbed mind can only lead to danger.} Lind fell back into his body. He collapsed exhausted! He had no idea he was exerting so much power!
He looked up and saw the spirits fading. They had their answers but Lind knew he would never be the same. He had to master the Tapestry Layer, if for no other reason, to find out an answer.
Was Cyntilla waiting for them to find her?
