Eternal Life Begins with Learning
Chapter 146: Cultivation Immortal Realm
’Not necessarily...’
Chu Mu, holding the Law Book, suddenly raised an eyebrow.
He realized he might have overlooked a problem.
And that was habituation!
From the mortal world to the Cultivation Immortal Realm, who knew how many years both had existed!
In an era where immense power was concentrated in individuals, major overthrows of the ruling order were practically nonexistent.
In other words, what he perceived as a system of interlocking exploitation had, for the people of this era, long become second nature.
It was like a certain nation from his past life. Since ancient times, the changing of dynasties had little to do with the common folk. For them, a sharply stratified and exploitative system was simply a fact of life they had long grown used to.
Not to mention, the current Cultivation Immortal Realm had remained unchanged since time immemorial.
The most terrifying form of brainwashing is often simply accepting things as normal!
’But in an ecosystem like this...’
Inside a Spirit Vein and outside of it were bound to be two completely different worlds.
Chu Mu silently admonished himself, reminding himself once again not to be blinded by the prosperity of Jade Emperor Valley!
As his thoughts shifted, Chu Mu glanced at the book in his hand and casually tossed the so-called book of laws and rules aside.
’This thing is only worth a glance.’
’In this Cultivation Immortal Realm, if one were to follow the rules in all matters, what would be the point of Cultivation Immortal!’
As the night deepened, Chu Mu remained awake.
His Qi Cultivation showed little progress, and the two inheritances were tantalizingly out of reach.
His focus, bit by bit, shifted to his Blade Technique.
Life at Li’s Ore Materials was extremely simple and unadorned.
During the day, he would refine Spirit Ores and study the properties of the Ore Materials. After his shift, he would wander through the Marketplace to broaden his understanding of the Cultivation Immortal Realm.
After that came his daily Qi Cultivation and the practice of his Blade Technique, which had now become his main focus.
His already Extraordinary body gave him a reserve of energy far exceeding that of a normal person.
Going several days without sleep was no issue for him.
Time slipped by quietly in this monotonous and dull "work" life. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Winter gave way to spring, and spring faded into summer.
In the blink of an eye, nearly half a year had passed.
Li’s Ore Materials.
In his room, Chu Mu leaned against the headboard, his eyes gently closed.
With the shift in his cultivation focus over the past half-year, his progress in Blade Technique could be described as meteoric.
He had already progressed nearly halfway through the Skill Level of the Refined Skill realm!
At this rate, Chu Mu estimated that by the end of the year, his Blade Technique would likely break through to a realm he had never before reached.
Being more than halfway through the Refined Skill realm manifested in reality. Beyond the superficial improvements like the Power of his Blade Technique, what Chu Mu cared about most was clearly that hint of a blade’s edge—one that originated from conviction and was rooted in his spirit!
It was very distinct, and it was growing more so as his Blade Technique progressed!
Now, Chu Mu was almost certain that when his Blade Technique reached the next realm, a change would occur that was beyond his comprehension!
And that change would undoubtedly affect his spirit.
"By the end of the year..."
Chu Mu pursed his lips, his gaze fixing on the Light Curtain Panel.
[Name: Chu Mu]
[Skills: Basic Blade Technique (Refined Skill) 2230/5000]
[Body Refining Technique (1000/1000)]
[Blazing Fire Technique Level 1 (182/1000)]
[Alchemy: Dragon and Snake Soup: Refined Skill (1300/2000), Grain Avoidance Pill: Beginner’s Practice (5/100)]
[Spiritual Radiance Value: 124.2%]
As usual, over the nearly half-year, besides the rapid progress of his Blade Technique and the addition of the Grain Avoidance Pill, not much else had changed.
The so-called Grain Avoidance Pill was the only Pill Recipe in the Alchemy Inheritance left behind by Elder Li.
The meaning of "grain avoidance" was, naturally, easy to understand.
The deeper a Cultivator’s Cultivation, the longer they needed to spend on their Cultivation. It was normal for them to enter seclusion for several months of arduous practice.
And because Cultivators were nourished by Spiritual Qi, their physiques were Extraordinary. Their bodily functions were countless levels beyond those of ordinary people, so naturally, their appetites were also immense!
Take Chu Mu himself, for example. It was now a common occurrence for him to eat over a hundred pounds of meat in a single meal!
For a Cultivator, mortal food could only satisfy them through sheer quantity.
Of course, Cultivators had their own food as well.
Based on what Chu Mu had learned over the past half-year, among the Hundred Skills of Cultivation Immortal, there was one known as Spirit Plant Master!
A Spirit Plant Master was a profession dedicated to cultivating Spiritual Plants.
Essentially, all forms of plant cultivation fell within the scope of a Spirit Plant Master’s skills.
Things like the Spirit Medicines required for Alchemy, the Spirit Grains, Spirit Gourds, and Spirit Fruits for a Cultivator’s daily use—all sorts of plants could be made to do wonders in the hands of a Spirit Plant Master.
For a Cultivator, food imbued with Spiritual Qi was obviously beyond compare with mortal food.
Whether in quality or efficacy, the difference was like that between heaven and earth.
The Grain Avoidance Pill from the Alchemy Inheritance was one such substitute for food rich in Spiritual Qi.
After all, no matter how good these spiritual plants were, a Cultivator’s body still required three meals a day.
If one were in long-term secluded Cultivation, something like eating was clearly too inconvenient.
The Grain Avoidance Pill was an Elixir refined from the essence of five types of grain. Depending on the Grade and quality of the Spirit Grain used, the amount of time it could sustain a Cultivator’s daily needs would vary.
According to the inheritance, a pill refined from five types of Tier One Spirit Grain was enough to cover the bodily needs of a Qi Cultivation Realm Cultivator for about a month.
As for Spirit Grain, he currently had no spare money to purchase any. From what Chu Mu had gathered, Spirit Grain in the Marketplace was sold by the tael, and the price was, to him, frighteningly high.
His study of the Grain Avoidance Pill stemmed from the monthly meal of Spirit Grain Rice provided by Li’s Trading House.
He wasn’t sure if it was due to the cost or some other reason, but over four months, the fact that the Spirit Grain Rice was different each month had allowed Chu Mu to gain a certain understanding of the properties of Spirit Grain.
This, in turn, gave him some insight into the Grain Avoidance Pill from his Alchemy Inheritance.
