Chapter 86: Arriving Back at Morvath Camp

The next morning, Lily and the rest of the Morvath family began their journey as early as possible.

The sun had not yet broken over the horizon, and the sky was still deep blue, fading to grey at the edges.

Lily, Maria, Gemma, Himari and Alicia got into a far more comfortable off-road vehicle than the trucks.

It was almost as large as a small truck... it had enough space to comfortably sit all 5 of them with even more space to allow them to transform some sits to a bed.

Alicia was still asleep by the time the left, she laid curled up in Maria’s hand with a small blanket over her... she did not even stir when the engine started.

Their designated driver was Jim... Just like Lily had asked he had indeed quit his job and informed his family about leaving for a while.

Of course, his wife was against it, she eventually saw reason and saw him off. Without Lily’s handouts their children would have to leave the good schools they were attending and return to a public one.

And just like in our world, public schools weren’t exactly as good as their counterpart especially without donations even with government funds.

At that point their children could kiss their bright... almost shining futures goodbye.

He did not want that... he might not have the greatest ambition known to man but one thing he wanted was a good future for his children.

However, one important discussion came up with his wife... how were they going to get by if he died, after all while the journey was said to be considered safe there was still certain danger when venturing outside safe zones.

His wife’s salary as a public-school teacher just wasn’t going to cut it.

’I have to speak to Miss Lily about a Death-in-service Benefit type,’ Tim thought, he glanced into his rear-view mirror, ’When she is alone... yes... that will be far better’

His hands rested lightly on the steering wheel. his eyes stayed focused on the road ahead and he drove forward with a calm steadiness.

Several trucks followed behind them... each one carried supply ranging from food to building materials to tools to even furniture.

Everything the camp needed to grow from a temporary shelter into a real base.

There was even a transport vehicle for the people Lily had recruited to help. They were not many just a handful of assistants, cooks and so on.

What they did not have were mercenary guards and the reason was simple.

Everyone was so busy tailing Talia that most of the so-called criminals were not close enough to do anything.

Even the bandit groups were keeping an eye on the entire thing too... such a large operation happening close to them was something they had to know off.

Lily smiled to herself as the town gates disappeared behind them.

Talia’s group of trucks rumbled through the camp entrance as the sun climbed higher.

She drove over to what could now be considered their park and stopped.

Talia stepped out first and the moment her boots hit the dirt she began stretching her arms above her head and rolling her shoulders.

The drive had been long, and she was starting to feel uncomfortable sitting so long she couldn’t even imagine how the other drivers were feeling but it had to be done.

With so many criminals tailing them stopping was just asking to be robbed and killed.

While she was sure she could escape even if they were surrounded, she saw no reason to risk it.

She was even surprised that none of them attacked them but that was most likely because there were so many groups following them that nobody wanted to be the first to attack.

It was common sense that the first to attack would most likely be ripped apart by the rest and the situation would most likely devolve into a free for all.

Such situation wouldn’t benefit them... it wouldn’t be late too late to attack them when they were in a better position.

"Good morning, Lady Talia." One of the workers close by bowed.

Talia nodded, only now did she realise just how much disgust she was feeling by being almost surrounded.

With the workers awake... waiting with tools and empty crates, standing ready, watching the trucks with tired but eager eyes, it was almost impossible to escape without leaving.

So, she quickly got to work, "Everyone, listen up," Talia called out and the murmuring stopped instantly. "These supplies need to be unloaded and organized inside the massive tents."

"Everything has a place and has been marked... Do not mix food with weapons... just follow the labels on the crates." She continued as she pointed at the outer part the camp reserved for the core members.

It was closer to the back of the mountain where the command tent was but still far enough to not affect them much.

"All magical items go to the section closer to the command tent and food stores to these side."

The workers nodded and they moved toward the trucks and immediately got to work.

Talia watched as they formed a chain and passed crates passed from hand to hand.

Since they were all servants of the clan, she didn’t really have to worry about them stealing anything besides...

"How was the journey little sister?" Roden’s voice sounded beside her.

"It was fine... u?"

"This place was very easy to control... all I had to do was to have the men set up these massive tents and follow the instructions you left behind." Roden answered.

Talia nodded, she turned fully to her brother, lowering her voice so only the two of them could hear, "How do you even do it with this feeling of disgust?"

Her brother spent the spent the most time around these people, not to mention he was far stronger than she was, yet he seemed to have no reaction to them.

"I thought I was the only one?" Roden asked with surprise.

"Nope... apparently everyone with the bloodline has it." Talia answered, "So how do you do it?"

"I just keep my distance, but it is starting to get worse... thankfully with Elda around all the time forcing me to train with her and taking my mind off them, I don’t seem to get the feeling as much."

"So, as long as we get our mind off them it wouldn’t be as bad?"

"I think so... Honestly just stay as far away as possible, I will take care of everything here." Roden said, "Go and get some rest."

Talia nodded in understanding before turning around and walking towards the command tent.
