Flames devoured everything around them like a living entity. The mechs’ shields instantly collapsed upon contact with that pure destructive force, turning into nothingness.

"Damn, how did a Tier 5 enemy appear?" Edward said with a pale face as he watched the knights perish.

Just as he was despairing, a change occurred as the overwhelming aura of the beast began to recede at an extremely fast pace, and the gigantic creature transformed back into an injured young man.

Swift Sword looked at the destruction with a smirk. "Good, I will cause more destruction as I am already dying."

Then he looked up and saw a huge lightning axe descending toward him.

"Hmph." He snorted as he directly waved his sword toward it.

"Huh, even after amplification I can’t overpower it—it’s equal in strength," he frowned as the lightning axe dissipated.

"Oh, you bastard, you came," Swift Sword looked at Victor, who had arrived, with a smile and said in a provocative manner, "How did you like my gift?"

Victor did not respond and used his pupil technique to check his bloodline.

"Ten times, huh..." Victor thought, then looked at the assassin with a calm expression.

"Eh, I thought you would cause serious damage, but what can you expect from a mindless beast?" Victor said in a mocking tone, which caused Swift Sword’s expression to darken.

Sure, he had caused destruction to the territory and killed a few soldiers and civilians, but compared to what he could have done if he had been in his right mind after the transformation, it was far less. Victor could accept this much loss—it was within his calculations. Did it make him cruel for treating his soldiers like numbers? Sure, it did—but that was the reality of war.

Swift Sword immediately activated his enhancement of 5x and looked at Victor with narrowed eyes.

When he released his enhancement, Victor could sense the change in aura but did not feel threatened and gave a mocking smile, which enraged the assassin.

The assassin’s speed and overall prowess increased significantly after the boost. Yet, it still wasn’t enough to overwhelm Victor.

Victor turned into lightning to match the speed of the assassin and used his lightning claws to fight him in close combat.

’What the hell is up with this guy?! He’s just a mere Tier 0, yet even with enhancement I can’t seem to get an edge... how can he have such high stats?’ The assassin was bewildered by how powerful Victor felt in physical combat. He had thought that his bloodline only boosted his mana reserves, but it seemed like it also enhanced his other stats.

"So, finally going all out, huh? Finally, some challenge." Victor smiled upon seeing the assassin’s increased aura.

"That arrogance won’t last long!" the assassin roared before rushing at Victor.

As the battle continued, Victor was at a disadvantage, as the 10x boost of all stats of a Tier 3 was far higher than Victor’s own buffed stats, and he was starting to get injured.

"Victor..." Amber looked toward the direction of his battle with tightly clenched fists and a nervous expression. She wanted to follow him so badly, but she knew she would only get in his way, as she was too weak; even Edward felt the same.

"Haha, finally I got an edge over you, freak!" Swift Sword laughed manically. Honestly, he was going crazy fighting Victor—first there was his bloodline, which he had never seen and nearly killed him, and then there were his insane stats, which could keep up with him.

"Is that so? You’re going to regret it soon," Victor smiled, and for some reason Swift Sword felt a chill run down his spine.

"Die!" Just as he was about to land a fatal strike at Victor, his pupils constricted when Victor’s speed suddenly increased.

’Fuck! What the hell is wrong with him? How did his strength and speed increase again?!’ The assassin was left terrified after seeing the sudden boost, even though he was on the verge of death.

"Just what the fuck are you?! How many more bullshit tricks are you going to pull out of your ass?!" the assassin exclaimed after feeling Victor’s skyrocketing aura.

’Damn it all! Why did I have to encounter such a fucking monster on this mission?! My luck is rotten to the core!’ the assassin cried inwardly. He had been inactive for years, and the first job he took made him encounter a freak like this. He regretted it deeply—if he had known his target was so dangerous, he would have never accepted it. Now he wished he could go back and kill that Baron Light bastard who had hired him.
