Extraordinary Voyage
Chapter 1027 - 898: Spider Night Spirit and Piercing the World
Hoo—!
A strong wind swept across the decaying deck, slowly parting a winding path through the layers upon layers of nightmares formed by countless ghosts, resentful spirits, evil spirits, and even evil spirits, along with some high-tier Spiritual Origin.
A group of "Corrupted Insectoids," appearing female but exhibiting distinct spider traits, escorted the expressionless Nymph deeper into the "Ghost Ship."
Though they were half-human, half-spider demons.
But their slightly pointed ears, white hair, skin with a blue-purple pearlescent sheen, and especially their enchanting eyes of unusual colors, exuded a unique allure.
These were the "Spider Night Spirits" that Yellen once corrupted using "Corrupting Blood" (Chapter 668)!
It's possible that the corrupting power of the Ancient God resonated more with them than it did with ordinary humans.
Most of the Night Spirits transformed into a half-spider form, their lower bodies becoming spiders, while their upper bodies remained as beautiful, sharp-eared women.
Among them, a few highly gifted individuals even broke through racial limits due to the power of "corruption," retaining human form.
While sprouting eight blade-like spider legs from their backs, directly advancing to Tier 2 Peak, even Tier 3.
This transformation drastically changed their personalities from being timid like rabbits to becoming cold and ruthless like "Black Widows."
However, after years of warfare and slaughter, the Night Spirits, not originally a powerful race, were reduced to a mere hundred gathered here.
Slash—!
At the front of the procession, a Tier 3 "Spider Night Spirit" violently rotated her razor-sharp arm blades, dismembering a bold "Ghost Dog" in place.
Frightening the other ghosts, causing them to whimper and retreat back into the darkness.
Because the captain, Nymph, the ritual's core, was not yet positioned, the various ghosts within the "Deceitful Dream" still acted independently, unable to be controlled.
Likewise, the Night Spirits and Nymph's entourage, though under the control of the Ancient God, had to forcefully break through the ghosts' blockade.
Fortunately, years of slaughter had already hardened these "Spider Night Spirits" into formidable warriors, aided by Loygor's Divine Power. Despite some setbacks, they finally advanced smoothly into the deepest part of the "Ghost Ship."
Located within the core of the Dream Realm, it was a bizarre altar submerged in azure sea water.
Three massive stone pillars, appearing as though formed from shattered and recombined giant creature skeletons, resembling human limbs and serpent bodies, spiraled upward around the altar.
Mistched veils of fog lingered all around.
The overall aesthetic was distorted and grotesque.
The lower half of the altar was submerged in seawater, while the upper extended in an anomalous geometric shape into the nightmares of all ghosts, seemingly bridging the "Water" and "Dream Realm."
Then.
The talents-loaded maid-like "Spider Night Spirits" stripped away each valuable piece of jewelry from Nymph, not sparing even the smallest toe ring.
Her expression wooden, Nymph donned just a high-slit, silk evening gown like the night sky, walking barefoot to the altar's center.
The entire process silent like a silent film, as if guided by an invisible baton, each knew exactly what they should do.
Gentle, gentle, gentle...
A curtain of light rose between the twisted stone pillars, forming an enclosed space slowly filled with an unknown substance akin to light, yet resembling mist or liquid, completely immersing Nymph within.
The noblewoman, having forgotten her identity, murmured in her heart:
"Activate!"
Emerald magic spiritual light instantly enveloped the altar, and as a medium, dyed the nightmares above and sea water below in a unified green hue.
Loygor had completed the transformation of Nymph's mind, replacing inherent knowledge with another persona, turning her into the perfect ritual executor.
Gradually.
In the nightmare world above, a massive gray-white figure began to swim tirelessly, while beneath in the deep sea, another colossal creature gradually extended its claws and fangs.
Shhh—!
Following a sound piercing through dream and reality, Nymph's emerald-like beautiful eyes suddenly widened, her jet-black long hair danced like seaweed with the liquid.
Simultaneously, her skin began transforming into a semi-translucent greenish-white, her strength continuously and rapidly increasing.
Not only that.
Countless chaotic pieces of knowledge belonging to the "Source of Nightmare" and the "Mist Octopus" flooded into her mind, synthesized through her own path as a Wizard, and then transmitted to— "Master of the Mist Sea" Loygor.
This is her greatest role as the core of the ritual.
It is also the further transformation of her by the [Deceitful Dream], the same as those ghosts who become part of the "Ghost Ship," as the "captain," she must also integrate with the [Deceitful Dream].
If it were another Extraordinary here, they might have exploded into a bloody firework upon first contact with that terrifying knowledge. Even for Nymph, an Upper-Rank Wizard on the Dream Realm Path, it was still a huge burden.
Even though Loygor carefully controlled the ritual process, Nymph's Spirit seemed like a small boat rolling in giant waves, always about to capsize.
But the benefits of persisting are also tremendous, like acquiring an ownerless database of the [Dream Realm], suddenly saving her millions of years of accumulation.
In a short time, she already gained knowledge that breaks the limits of human cognition, almost immediately able to "break through"!
When the ritual ends, Nymph is very likely to become the most powerful follower of the Ancient God in Loygor's and even the entire Evil God Camp.
Of course, barring any accidents, no matter how powerful she becomes, she cannot escape the fate of becoming a humanoid weapon.
At this moment.
Nymph's enhancement is merely an irrelevant byproduct.
On the deck of the outer world "Ghost Ship," threads of mist slowly emerge, weaving into stage plays composed of ghostly dreams.
And deep within the [Nightmare], with the conscious representation of [Water], Loygor uses Nymph as a medium to gradually absorb Hypnos, the sluggish representation of [Dream Realm].
As time ticks by.
In the depths of the sea, a terrifying existence gradually reveals its [Mythical Form].
It is an Ancient God as tall as a mountain!
His soft head bore countless tentacles, with three eyes on each side, a body bloated and covered with scales, limbs with huge webbed claws, and a pair of tattered, underdeveloped bat wings on the back.
Though the sight still induced nausea, the rules and order belonging to this Era were gradually prevailing over His body, and they continued to grow at a terrifying speed.
Additionally, countless strangely shaped demons surged from all over the "Mist Sea," gathering around Him.
Most of these demons are not any kind of marine life known to human knowledge, even more bizarre than the tentacle and shell-covered Sea Monsters.
They were like creations of a playful child's imagination, melding countless soft-bodied animals, deep-sea creatures, and even inorganic matter, entities that entirely warped the natural laws.
Just a glance was a desecration of nature, a stain upon aesthetics!
The reptilian figures were adorned with gooey red eyes, a gaping maw of terror in the middle of their head, with overlapping sharp teeth forming a knife-edge passage, extending into a black pit emitting green smoke as their stomachs.
There was a vague semblance of humanoid creatures, their heads impaled by rotting rudder wheels, hunched over, crawling on the seabed with seven or eight limbs of varying lengths.
Draped in red, blurred flesh, wrapped in a dirty, tattered sail as if the Undead of a Sea Burial had resurrected to return to the mortal world.
The largest group consisted of marine creatures with partial body mutations—Fish Monsters with human arms and legs, squids with human faces, Fish People with serrated teeth, crackling Wind Elemental Giants, and Sea Dragons of the Sub-dragon Species....
They were raising their impure voices, singing in unison:
"In the sea, our Keturt, may Your name be exalted, Your kingdom come, Your will be done in all worlds as in the 'Mist Sea'...."
Gently clasping the enormous webbed claws, looking overhead at the "Source of Nightmare" that had halved in size, Loygor, no, the reborn Keturt laughed heartily.
Even Nymph, as the tool, had reaped considerable benefits from the ritual, even achieving the highest permissions of the [Deceitful Dream], yet it did not dim His joyous mood in the slightest:
"Hahaha, soon, soon, I... the 'God of Sleep' Keturt is about to return..."
But then.
BOOM—!!!
A line of unparalleled radiant golden light suddenly pierced through countless layers of ghosts' [Nightmare] like a hot knife through butter, abruptly descending upon the core dream.
Transforming into a [Golden Holy Spear·Longinus] with a dual spiral spearhead, it shattered the twisted altar that bound Nymph with world-piercing momentum.
A voice as chilling as the cold wind followed, ringing in His ears:
"Is that so? But I have a different view, Mr. Loygor! I think it's necessary to teach you foul, ancient undeads what rules are!"
