Instead of erupting immediately beneath Xavier, they raced underground first, tearing through the frozen surface like enormous sharks swimming beneath the sea.
The frozen path rapidly advanced toward the demon.
They were one meter, the five meters, then ten meters.
The earth split apart behind it.
Xavier sensed the danger. His eyes widened slightly.
"The ground?"

A gigantic ice spike erupted directly beneath him.
Xavier instantly jumped backward. The spike narrowly missed his body, tearing through empty air.
But Noah had already anticipated it.

A second spike erupted, then a third, then a fourth.
Massive pillars of razor-sharp ice burst from the earth one after another, chasing Xavier relentlessly across the battlefield.
Each eruption shattered rocks and uprooted patches of earth. The surrounding temperature plummeted as frost spread in every direction.
Xavier’s expression finally turned serious.

Lightning exploded around his legs. His movements became even faster.
Every time an ice spike erupted beneath him, he leaped away at the last possible moment. The forest echoed with continuous explosions.

Towering pillars of ice pierced toward the sky, leaving behind a devastated trail of shattered earth and frozen trees.
Noah narrowed his eyes which were glowing in glacier color beautiful.
’He’s avoiding every single one...’
His breathing grew heavier. The continuous use of Ice Creation consumed mana far faster than ordinary spells.
Sweat rolled down his forehead. Even so, he didn’t stop.
The ice spikes continued pursuing Xavier without giving him a single moment to rest.
Finally the demon had been forced completely onto the defensive.

Without hesitation, he stored his sword inside his storage ring and pulled out his spear. The familiar blue-and-silver weapon appeared in his hand.
He tightened his grip. A thin layer of compressed ice slowly spread across the spearhead, making the weapon glow with a beautiful icy blue radiance.
His first blade technique have ability to burst or spread ice with each slash or attack. he was using that on spear.
Cold mist drifted from its blade. Noah took a deep breath. Then he hurled the spear with all his strength.

The spear tore through the freezing air with a sharp whistling sound, spinning rapidly as it flew toward Xavier. Its icy aura left a faint trail of frost behind it.
Xavier landed lightly on the ground. His eyes immediately locked onto the incoming weapon.
"Hmph."
Blue lightning erupted around his sword. Without hesitation, he swung.

The lightning-covered blade collided directly with the spear. A violent burst of blue lightning exploded outward.
But at that exact moment.

The layer of compressed ice coating Noah’s spear suddenly detonated.
A surge of freezing mana erupted from within it.
Blue ice and deep-blue lightning collided together, creating a strange azure explosion that swallowed Xavier.

A shockwave swept across the surrounding forest. Several nearby trees shook violently. Chunks of frozen earth scattered in every direction.
When the smoke cleared. Xavier stood there with several fresh cuts across his arms and shoulder.
His battle clothes had been torn in a few places. Thin streaks of blood slowly dripped onto the frozen ground.
His expression darkened. At that same moment.
Mary raised her wand. Another blazing fire spell shot toward Xavier. A massive sphere of flames roared across the battlefield.
Xavier’s cold eyes shifted toward her. "You’ve become annoying."
A blue magic circle instantly formed before his hand.

A bolt of compressed lightning burst forward.

The two spells collided in midair before exploding. The violent shockwave forced Myra back several steps.
Before she could recover, Xavier disappeared.
His body became nothing more than a streak of blue lightning.
Noah’s eyes widened and the next instant,

Xavier’s sword descended toward Noah’s neck. Noah barely managed to block it with another ice sword he had created.
The impact threw him backward. Before he regained his balance.

Blood slowly stained his academy battle gear.

Another slash grazed his ribs. Pain spread through his body. His body felt like it was burning.
His muscles had already become sluggish from the lightning flowing through every clash.
Meanwhile Xavier suddenly changed targets. His figure blurred toward Myra.
She hastily raised several fire barriers.

Each barrier shattered after a single strike. A shallow cut appeared across her left arm. Another slash tore across her thigh.
She stumbled backward, breathing heavily. The difference in strength had become overwhelming.
This time Xavier intended to go all out. Blue lightning exploded around his entire body.
His speed increased even further. He moved like a bolt of lightning weaving through the forest.
Neither Noah nor Myra could keep up anymore. Every exchange ended with another wound. Another burst of pain. Another step backward.
Noah clenched his teeth. ’At this rate... we’ll both die.’
He looked toward Myra.
She was exhausted. Her breathing had become ragged. Blood dripped from several wounds across her body.
Noah made his decision.
"Mary!"
She instinctively looked toward him.
"Run!"
She froze for a moment.
"What?"
"I’ll hold him back!"
"Noah—"
"Go!"
His voice was louder than before.
"Trust me!"
Mary bit her lower lip. For a brief second, she hesitated.
Then she nodded.
"...Alright."
She immediately turned and sprinted deeper into the forest.
Xavier noticed. "You think she can escape?"
He prepared to chase after her. But Noah thrust both hands toward the ground. Mana surged from his core.

Towering walls of solid ice erupted around Xavier from every direction.
Within a single heartbeat, a gigantic cage of thick ice imprisoned the demon. The frozen walls rose several meters into the air.
Noah didn’t wait to see the result. His bloodied body turned around. He immediately sprinted after Myra.
Each step sent pain through his wounded muscles. Behind him a terrifying amount of blue lightning erupted.

The entire ice prison exploded apart.
Countless frozen fragments flew through the forest.
Xavier emerged from the shattered cage with an expression colder than before.
"You won’t escape."
Blue lightning exploded beneath his feet. The demon shot after the fleeing pair like a flash of lightning.
And the situation with Damien and others were not much different.
Meanwhile Mary and Noah were unknowingly running in the same direction where the ancient ruin was hidden beneath the earth.
