Extra's Path: The Eternal Frost Monarch

For now, Damien decided to make the current building they were standing on their base.

It was huge and in much better condition compared to the others.

Damien, Arisha, and Kaelan had decided to form units.

The first was the Frontier unit, also known as the vanguard unit. This was where Noah was assigned.

Next came the Strike unit. It included fast fighters, assassins, and high-damage mages. They specialized in striking from the sides and excelling in stealth.

Then there was the Support unit, which consisted of long-range fighters, mages, and buffers.

Finally, the Recon unit. They spread out early to gather information on the surroundings and search for useful food and resources.

Damien and the others had already explored how big this space was and discovered a transparent barrier at the end of the ruined city. Basically, they could not go beyond the city limits.

Noah and his class had spawned at one end of the city.

Currently, the Frontier unit members were standing in a circle to protect their base. For now, they planned to remain there.

Noah was not standing but sitting on a huge piece of broken concrete on the road. The road was full of cracks and pits, evidence of a recent battle.

He was deeply thinking about how to help Travis.

’Can smartphones or smartwatches be used for communication? That way I can contact or message them. Yeah, let’s do that once Damien gives his first order.’

While Noah was thinking deeply about betraying his class, a familiar male voice came from behind.

"What are you thinking so deeply about?"

He snapped out of his thoughts and looked back. A man with short blonde hair and tanned skin stood there. He had a muscular physique. It was Leonard, the leader of their unit.

"Nothing. I was just wondering. Since this place is exactly like the real world, does that mean we also have to pee and shit?"

Leonard looked at him with a shocked expression. "What?! Are you for real?" 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

"Yes, I’m serious. What’s the problem with having such thoughts? Aren’t you curious?"

"You are really weird," Leonard said, sighing. "Your face was so serious, as if you were planning something. But this is what you were wondering about." He continued, "Anyway, I’ll answer your curiosity. You don’t need to do those things here."

"So there are things that weren’t copied. Guess a few things are really hard to replicate."

"Sure, sure! A few things are really hard," Leonard replied. "By the way, I’m really bored. Can’t we just go directly and attack them? We have so many powerhouses. We could win easily, I’m sure of it."

Noah folded his arms over his chest, took a deep breath, and exhaled.

"Bruh! Just because we have strong students doesn’t mean we can simply win. Also, this is a war-themed event. Here, survival and tactics are really important if you want those extra points from the instructors for performing well—not just in battle, but in everything."

He added seriously, "Also, don’t underestimate your opponents. That is the biggest mistake even the strongest person can make. If we want to win, we all have to work together and fight like comrades."

It was weird for Noah to spout such nonsense when he was planning to betray his class. Well, Noah didn’t care.

"By the way, did the others go to find food supplies?" Noah asked.

"Yes, they did. Why do you ask?"

"Nothing. I actually wanted to go as well. I’m bored just like you. Not gonna lie. I wish there was a way to roam around... like sneaking away... hah."

At Noah’s words, Leonard’s eyes lit up.

Leonard smiled. "I knew it! I’m not the only one who’s bored here. How about we go and check the surroundings for a while?"

"What? But what about guarding the area?"

"Man, our Frontier unit has more than thirty students. If two of us vanish, it won’t be a big problem. Also, I’m the leader. When can I use my authority~ hehe," Leonard said with a cunning smile that didn’t suit his face at all.

Noah also smiled like a mischievous man about to cause trouble. "That sounds good. Let’s go."

He got up on his feet.

"Wait! I’ll go and ask Ophelia to act as leader in my absence."

Noah frowned after hearing her name. Yes, his ex-fiancée, whom he had never spoken to again after the first day at the academy. She was also in his unit. "...Okay, but what reason will you give her? After all, we’re just going to roam."

"Oh come on. I’ll just tell her that we’re exploring the nearby area to see if there’s anything suspicious," Leonard replied.

He turned back and ran toward the broken building on the side of the road. There she was with her friend.

Leonard told her everything. Her expression turned sour as she looked in Noah’s direction. Her face became even uglier upon seeing him.

Leonard returned after a few minutes. "Done. We can go! I hope we meet some Class B-1 students on the way. I’ll eliminate them all!" he said excitedly.

"Sure! Let’s go now."

Both Noah and Leonard walked through the destroyed road.

"Haah..." Leonard exhaled softly. "There’s nothing. Just a ruined city! Dammit. Didn’t they say we might encounter monsters? Then why aren’t they here?"

"Probably sleeping or hiding somewhere. Might be inside the buildings." Noah replied.

"Oh... that might be true."

"Hey, what do you think... which building might be the biggest here? Like somewhere many students could fight each other," Noah asked casually while looking around.

Leonard rubbed his chin while thinking deeply. "Hotels and apartments might be the biggest... but for fighting, I think a mega mall might be the best place. Most of the time they are built spacious, in a circular way with a huge open middle section."

Noah nodded. And said further. "I think the same. How about we try to find a mall? Now that you mentioned it, we might find some food in there."

"Damn man! I never thought about that! Let’s try to find it... but won’t the food supply unit already be there?"

"Yeah, they might be. So what? If they aren’t, then we find it. It’s good and useful for us anyway."

"Right! Then let’s go!"

And soon both of them found a huge mall. Also, Noah found something he was looking for.
