Chapter 42: Snow...

Just before Logan could touch Snow’s fur, it slapped his hand away and vanished, reappearing atop the bed and curling into a ball.

Logan glanced at the sight with a wry smile.

’What an interesting little guy...’

He shook his head and turned his attention back to the system.

’Astra, distribute the stats I earned.’

Logan decided it was time to use the free attributes he had gathered.

Instantly, Astra got to work, distributing Logan’s attribute points based on how important each attribute was at the moment.

Before long, it was done.

Logan called up his stats once more, noting the changes.

[System Space: SSS-Rank Sword]

Just as before, Logan didn’t particularly feel any major increase to his strength, but he could feel miraculous changes to his body.

In fact, due to how much the increase to his stats had changed him, he had reached the extreme limit of his current rank.

He just needed a short while absorbing origin energy to step into the next rank of origin.

Logan closed his eyes, immersing himself in the feeling of absolute strength.

After a while, he opened his eyes and exhaled in relief.

He was glad he was growing strong fast.

After all, he had to prepare for what was coming.

The otherworlders... the invasion, and the sudden surge in strength of the demon king. The previous way he had ended this world... he had to change the ending.

He also had to thread the forbidden path to bring back Evelyn. Other things didn’t matter much for now.

"Let’s practice the technique first, then we’d head to the underground dungeon later tonight to consolidate my strength."

Logan decided on his next course of action for the remaining week until the awakening ceremony.

He would spend the day absorbing origin energy and mastering his origin techniques, then he would spend his nights at the underground fight dungeon, battling different opponents and sharpening his combat awareness.

With that, he began with the coin technique.

The reason it was difficult to understand how terrifying this technique truly was, was because one would need space affinity, and the ability to integrate their spatial coordinates into the coin perfectly.

Logan took a gold coin from his pocket.

It was time for the most difficult process, integrating his spatial coordinates into the coin.

He had to constantly get used to it, because as he changed positions, his spatial coordinates would keep changing...

With that in mind, Logan began analysing his surroundings, and rune-like engravings began appearing atop the coin.

This was all due to the effect of the origin technique.

The runes shimmered with a silvery light. It took Logan a full five minutes to finish engraving the runes.

He furrowed his brows slightly, then smoothed them out. As long as he continued using the technique, his speed would gradually increase.

Once done engraving the runes onto the coin, he tossed it toward the cat.

"Snow... watch out."

Snow raised its head lazily to glance at the coin being hurled in its direction.

Raising a lazy paw, it was about to slap the coin away, when the coin emitted a silvery glow and Logan appeared at the spot where the coin was, a grin plastered across his face.

He grabbed the soft fur of the cat and stroked it gently.

Instantly, Snow’s eyes widened in shock. It vanished instinctively, using the space affinity it had copied from Logan.

Logan felt the slight spatial fluctuations and turned in the direction Snow had appeared.

It stared at him and began waving in the air.

Logan smirked. "You want me to teach you the technique?"

Snow nodded hurriedly, continuing to gesture as though it was trying to explain something to Logan.

Logan smirked and shook his head, then took another coin from his pocket.

There was a slight disadvantage to this technique in the sense that he had to waste a gold coin every time he used it.

This was due to the fact that the gold couldn’t withstand the force of the spatial fluctuations. As long as he could carve coins with materials far stronger than gold, they should last him a couple more uses, and he knew just where to get the materials.

’The entrance test...’ Logan murmured to himself thoughtfully.

Setting that thought aside, he returned to engraving the coin with his new spatial coordinates.

The cat lazily stretched and continued watching its master in curiosity.

This time Logan took twenty seconds less than five minutes. It was still slow, but it was a sign that he was improving drastically.

Like that, Logan’s time passed gradually. He kept himself busy, trying not to think about the women in his life.

He practiced the spatial telekinesis and the coin teleportation technique.

He also mastered how to change the trajectory of the coin using the spatial telekinesis, to get himself to safety.

Unfortunately, with so little time, there was only so much Logan could achieve.

...

The night soon came, the moon hanging solely in the skies, casting its warm soft glow on everything.

Logan stepped out of his home, his destination... the fight arena!

His steps were calm and even. On his face was the familiar mask belonging to the Legion.

Since he had taken the mask out previously, he just decided to keep it with him.

As he approached the familiar location, the sounds of fights along with resounding laughter, mixed with the smell of sex and alcohol, drifted through the air.

Logan walked with even steps, quickly spotting a few guests emerging from the spacious door.

Upon entering, his gaze went to the familiar desk.

There, he saw Cecilia leaned back, an exhausted expression spread across her face.

With even steps he approached the desk.

"What do you need help with?" Cecilia asked without looking up, already tired after working there the whole day.

Her mates were at school, learning about the origin world while she was... here?

She felt even more infuriated at the thought.

"It’s nice to see you again, Miss Cecilia," a familiar voice drifted over.

It was filled with a lack of emotion, however how could Cecilia forget that voice which she had been daydreaming about since the previous night.

Instinctively, she glanced up and saw the familiar black mask.

She almost jumped up and hugged him, her previous exhaustion vanishing entirely.

Glancing at Logan, a warm smile spread across her face as she pulled a strand of hair behind her.

Internally, she was wondering if she looked presentable enough for Legion.

At the same time, she was wondering why he hadn’t turned up at the place he had asked them to meet.

...only God knew how many times she had gone there today in search of him.

"Ho—how are you doing?" Flustered, Cecilia said the first thing that came to her mind.
