Chapter 92: Ranking Challenge

Luna emerged from the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her waist.

"I prepared the bath for you. You can use the second towel inside." She offered with a small smile.

Logan finally glanced up at her and smiled faintly.

"Thank you."

A faint blush crept onto Luna’s face. This was the first time she was sharing her room with a man. However, strangely, it didn’t feel as weird as she thought it would.

Instead, she found herself wanting Logan to stay a little longer in her dorm room.

’Am I weird for thinking that?’ Luna muttered to herself before quickly shaking her head.

She turned and glanced toward the door to make sure it was locked before gently tugging the towel from her body, revealing pristine, milky-white skin beneath the soft dorm light.

...

Some time later, two students could be seen walking out of the dormitory. Not literally.

In order not to draw attention to herself and become remembered as the girl constantly seen beside the strongest freshman, Luna had activated her origin ability, keeping both of them invisible as they left the dormitory.

Only after they were out of the public’s view did she release the ability and glance at Logan.

In the short time they’d spent together, she couldn’t deny that she admired him to a certain extent.

"Well, I guess this is goodbye for now. Can I get your contact information so I’d message you later on?" Luna glanced at Logan with a trace of expectation in her eyes.

Logan furrowed his brows slightly.

"I don’t have a phone for now." Due to how busy he’d been, he hadn’t yet purchased a device. Still, he decided he would do so once he had the time.

"Oh, alright."

A slightly embarrassed expression flashed across Luna’s face before she vanished completely, disappearing so thoroughly that even Logan couldn’t sense her anymore.

Logan chuckled softly at her behavior before walking calmly toward the academy grounds.

As he walked, he couldn’t help glancing around.

There was more security than usual today. If his guess wasn’t wrong, they had probably already realized that the S-rank space technique had been stolen.

At the same time, Logan was also curious whether that was the only thing Raven had taken.

’In the novel, there were quite a number of deadly artifacts inside the treasury.’

’No, this isn’t a novel anymore...’

Logan still couldn’t fully come to terms with that realization. This was no longer the world he had written. It was something far vaguer, far more real. A living world condensed from fragments of the knowledge he once possessed.

’If that’s the case, the protagonist’s cheats will be really helpful.’

Logan thought back to Ethan, and plans slowly began forming in his mind.

While undergoing the mission, he had to make the best possible use of his time and grow stronger as quickly as he could.

’There’s the Heavenly Lake that can directly increase one’s strength, the Embermoon Leaf that can instantly regenerate one’s origin energy...’

Thoughts drifted endlessly through Logan’s mind as he walked in a daze.

He didn’t even realize when he arrived at the classroom.

Bang!

Pressure slammed onto him instantly. Ten times gravity right from the start.

Logan’s body shook briefly before he quickly regained his composure, forcing all the thoughts in his mind aside for now.

Later, he would make a proper list of goals to accomplish before the time came.

He had just a week left.

...

Classes went on similarly to the previous day.

This time, during the origin gate simulation class, the students adapted better to their fights.

Ethan still hadn’t recovered from Logan’s attack previously, so he wasn’t present for today’s class.

Throughout the day, Logan barely spotted Luna. However, he wasn’t worried about her safety.

Raven had no reason to target Luna for now.

’Unless he wants to spite me by casually killing her off.’

The thought settled heavily in Logan’s chest.

He hated being under anyone’s control.

’After next week, I need to gain enough strength to at least contend with him, or guarantee my safety enough that he can’t target me anymore.’

Logan’s eyes hardened slightly as the decision settled firmly in his heart.

"I challenge Logan."

A voice suddenly pulled Logan back to reality.

Glancing up, Logan quickly spotted who it was.

The unfortunate soul was Kaizen.

Logan stared at him, and a cold smile slowly appeared on his lips.

He was in no mood to deal with battles right now.

Ding!

He silently flicked a coin in Kaizen’s direction, and before Kaizen could even react, the coin shattered apart.

Logan appeared directly in front of him, his hand already slamming forward.

Bang!

The attack exploded with terrifying force, blasting Kaizen violently toward the wall.

Blood sprayed from his mouth.

Logan had poured all the frustration and anger from the previous night into that single strike.

Kaizen’s face turned deathly pale instantly.

Selene narrowed her eyes as she stared at Logan.

"I hadn’t announced the start of the fight. Attacking him without authorization can get you penalized."

Logan casually shook his hand once.

"I don’t mind."

Selene stared at him for several silent seconds before turning her attention back toward the crowd.

"The fight with Kaizen is not counted. Someone else can choose to challenge him."

She pointed a slender finger toward Logan.

Logan frowned and swept his gaze across the crowd.

Then his killing intent exploded outward instantly.

"As long as you don’t mind dying, feel free to challenge me."

The few students who had been hesitating, tempted to give it a try, immediately broke out into cold sweat.

For nearly a minute, the arena remained silent.

No one wanted to challenge Logan.

Suddenly, a voice echoed out.

"I’d challenge him."

Logan’s head snapped toward the source of the voice.

The moment he saw it was Luna, something inside him strangely settled.

If it had been anyone else, he would have attacked instantly without caring about Selene’s warning.

Right now, he wanted to vent his anger, and any unlucky soul foolish enough to step forward would have paid the price.

"You again?" Selene sounded genuinely surprised seeing Luna challenge Logan once more.

Luna nodded faintly.

"I lost yesterday, and I’m unsatisfied." Luna lied without batting an eye.

"Alright. You two can choose a time and location. I approve of the match."

Before Selene even finished speaking, Logan had already begun walking away.

Luna quickly followed after him, leaving Selene quietly dumbfounded behind them.

’These two... don’t seem like they’re going to fight at all...’
