Chapter 73: 73-On A Date With An Asshole

Verity:

Roman was a doctor in one of the packs, and from his dating profile alone, I could tell he had a long list of demands.

He wanted a curvy woman. A woman whose body could make anyone hungry.

Someone with a naturally round ass.

Someone with a tiny waist, broad hips, thin shoulders, and large breasts.

Basically, the kind of woman who practically existed only in fantasy books.

Ironically, I had worked hard on my figure and had managed to achieve something close to that ideal, but I still found it ridiculous that he had listed every physical requirement in such detail.

Then there was the hair.

He wanted fair-skinned women. He wanted this. He wanted that.

And I had decided to show him exactly what kind of crazy bitch he had matched with after writing all those demands.

Not to mention, he was aggressive, which would definitely work in my favor.

I arrived at the restaurant in a cab, making sure to get there about half an hour before Jaguar.

I wanted it to look as though they had approached us, not the other way around. We were not the ones stalking them.

The moment I arrived, I was greeted by a very handsome blue-eyed man.

He had the typical blond jock look. If I had to guess, he was probably in his twenties.

"Verity?" he asked.

The excitement in his eyes told me he was pleased to see me.

"Yes, Roman Empire," I joked.

He laughed and placed a hand over his chest.

"It’s Roman Wells," he corrected me. "Or Dr. Roman Wells."

Then he guided me to our table.

The restaurant had an open rooftop seating area.

It wasn’t particularly fancy, but it was cozy and aesthetic, with lights and lanterns hanging from wooden poles.

To be honest, it was extremely beautiful.

He pulled out my chair for me, acting every bit the gentleman, then sat across from me and unbuttoned his coat.

Wow!

The moment he sat down, he seemed mesmerized.

I mean, he actually paused.

"I’ve never seen a woman like you before," he complimented.

I smiled and lowered my gaze shyly.

"Thank you," I replied in the calmest tone I could manage.

"I mean, whenever I go on dates, the women I meet never look anything like their pictures. They present themselves as exactly my type, but then I always find something missing."

The asshole kept talking.

While I smiled and nodded along, internally, I wanted to tell him my ears were bleeding.

I wished he would stop talking soon

.

"But damn, look at you. Every inch of your body is perfection."

I watched a gulp travel down his throat as his eyes hungrily moved up and down my body.

"Thank you," I replied shyly.

I was wearing a brown dress that highlighted my breasts and hips perfectly.

It was fitted through the waist and stomach before flaring out to my knees.

The straps rested off my shoulders and were decorated with brown beads and diamantes.

There were three delicate straps in total, one of them slightly slipping to the side and resting lower on my shoulder.

The bodice was designed like a corset, with a beautifully curved neckline that showcased my cleavage.

I had paired it with a gold chain necklace, a simple leaf pendant, and gold-and-stone earrings.

As for my hair, I had curled it and left it loose around my shoulders.

"You’re just complimenting me too much now," I said shyly.

"So, when was your last relationship?" he asked.

I shifted in my seat, preparing to answer, when he added, "And I’m sorry if I’m a little upfront. You know, as a doctor, I’ve learned so much that I don’t feel the need to dance around subjects anymore."

Every time he spoke, I felt like he was losing aura points.

But I nodded to him.

"Yeah, I like straightforward people."

That was a lie.

Straightforward people were usually just ruthless assholes hiding behind their so-called honesty.

They loved dishing out criticism but could never take any themselves.

"So, what did you want to ask me unfiltered?" I joked.

He laughed softly before asking, "How many men have been between your legs?"

The question was so offensive that I wanted to grab his drink and throw it in his face.

But I needed this man as a scapegoat.

Honestly, I was glad he was an asshole.

I had picked an asshole for a reason.

I didn’t want to drag an innocent person into my game.

This man looked like he had broken a lot of hearts.

Maybe this was their revenge.

"None."

The moment I answered, his eyes widened.

He immediately straightened in his seat.

"You’re a virgin?" he asked.

I watched him swallow.

"Yeah. I guess I’ve been saving myself for a boyfriend."

I let out an awkward laugh.

His eyes widened even further.

"You’ve never had a boyfriend?" he questioned, leaning forward and resting his elbows on the table.

"No," I replied shyly.

I squeezed my arms together, and the movement made my pendant shift between my breasts.

His gaze immediately dropped to my breasts, and it didn’t seem like he was even trying to be subtle.

"Well then, I’m glad I’ll be the first."

My smile faltered.

"Well then, I’d love to be the one sucking on those nipples."

As soon as he said it, my smile faded completely.

Then he quickly added, "I’m joking. But yeah, you’re really pretty."

I laughed along because I had to.

Otherwise, he was such an offensive man.

Finally, I saw Jaguar appear on the rooftop with Aster.

She was wearing a white dress and had her hair pulled into a high ponytail.

With her full makeup and glamorous appearance, she looked stunning.

But I knew the moment Jaguar’s eyes landed on me, he would lose his breath.

Jaguar was wearing a gray suit.

I had adjusted my glass in a way that allowed me to see his reflection.

I had also chosen the table right next to theirs.

He would be sitting beside Roman, while I would be seated beside Aster.

That way, it would be easier for me to watch him from the corner of my eye, and it would also make it easier for him to look at me throughout the night.

The moment he sat down, smiling brightly, I noticed the smile begin to fade.

His head turned toward me.

And at that moment, I knew he had seen me.
