Chapter 193 - 144: Seaside
"He does."
Jiang Wan smiled, a nonchalant look on her face.
"His flaws are being a womanizer and a lech."
"And you can still smile about it?"
Xu Lu was a little puzzled.
"Isn’t that a red line for men in a relationship?"
"I used to think so too, but now, I’ve kind of changed my mind."
Jiang Wan sat on the edge of the bed, murmuring as she packed her luggage for tomorrow’s trip.
"After Lin Shen told me about his last failed relationship, I’ve started to feel that a lot of people’s sincere feelings get taken for granted these days."
"Instead of getting hurt again, it’s better to just do whatever makes you happy."
"Besides, Lin Shen has the capital to be a scumbag, doesn’t he? His face, his body, his family background, and his personal abilities—he’s the perfect boyfriend many girls dream of."
"Even if I tried to restrict him now, I can’t guarantee other girls wouldn’t develop inappropriate ideas about him in the future."
"If this issue would cause unpleasantness in my relationship with Lin Shen, I’d rather not bother with it. In any case, I’ve already felt his sincerity toward me."
"As for how many copies of that sincerity he’s made and how many girls he’s given them to, what does that have to do with me?"
"You’re certainly generous."
Xu Lu curled her lip in disdain.
"After all that talk, isn’t it just because Lin Shen is handsome and rich?"
"If he were just some average guy, I doubt you’d be so open-minded in your relationship."
"If he were an average guy, I probably wouldn’t be with him either,"
Jiang Wan said honestly.
"The same can be said for Lin Shen."
"I’m just a girl from an ordinary family who’s been lucky enough to cash in on the perks of my looks and figure."
"Without them, a guy with a privileged background like Lin Shen probably wouldn’t have even given me a second glance. So, I’m already very content. Why should I go looking for trouble?"
"As long as I can be sure of one thing—that he loves me the most when he’s with me—then it’s fine."
"Fine, fine."
Faced with Jiang Wan’s attitude toward relationships, Xu Lu put herself in her shoes for a moment and began to understand her a little.
’If Lin Shen chose me, I’d probably forgive his scummy, womanizing behavior too.’
’After all, his excellent qualities would make so many girls fall for him.’
’If you gave up on him because he’s a womanizer, a whole bunch of girls who don’t mind it would just throw themselves at him.’
’It’s like that common saying online: If you don’t do it, someone else will!’
’That saying applied just as well to Lin Shen.’
’If you won’t get screwed, someone else will!’
Xu Lu decided to respect Jiang Wan’s decision and sighed softly.
"Alright, alright. Since you’ve already mentally prepared yourself, I won’t say any more."
"Just remember to take precautions. Don’t go and get yourself pregnant."
"Then why do you think I chose to go to Qin Island tomorrow?"
Jiang Wan gave a playful wink, a meaningful smile spreading across her face.

「8:30 PM.」
After taking Jiang Wan home, Lin Shen dropped by the Z&B Fitness gym on his way.
He had been busy with personal matters lately, so he hadn’t been to the gym much.
Which was why Lu Ran looked quite surprised to see him.
"Mr. Lin? What brings you here?"
"Am I not allowed?"
"That’s not what I meant!"
Seeing Lin Shen raise an eyebrow, Lu Ran quickly waved her hands to explain and changed the subject.
"So, are you here for a private training session today, or just to work out on your own?"
"I plan on doing some bench presses."
Lin Shen loosened up his shoulders.
"I’ll have to trouble you to spot me, Coach Lu."
"No trouble! No trouble at all! It’s my job."
Lu Ran was more than happy to help Lin Shen. She immediately led him to the bench press area and went over the key points.
"When you lie down, your back should be flat against the bench. Depress and retract your scapula. Remember not to shrug your shoulders or cave in your chest. You can have a slight arch in your lower back, leaving about a hand’s width of space. Keep your core tight throughout the entire lift to avoid injury."
"Your feet should be planted firmly on the ground with your knees naturally bent. Use them to stabilize your body and avoid kicking your legs or wobbling."
"Okay."
Following Lu Ran’s instructions, Lin Shen first tried a 40 kg barbell.
After all, the Sports Health mission required him to bench press a weight equal to his body weight, which was about 80 kg.
This was a weight Lin Shen had never even considered lifting before; he was sure it would be difficult.
So, he decided to gradually increase the weight to see where his limit truly was.
His primary goal in working out was to be healthy, not just to build his body.
Lin Shen was very careful about protecting himself.
But to his surprise, the 40 kg went up with ease.
’Have I gotten this strong?’
Lin Shen was a little surprised.
Although his Constitution attribute had already risen to 87, he had always felt that he shouldn’t be that much stronger than a normal person.
After all, he had never done any specific bench press training, yet his first time was this smooth!
So, Lin Shen went straight to 50 kg, and he still lifted it with ease.
"Mr. Lin, your pectoral muscles are surprisingly strong."
Lu Ran couldn’t help but praise him.
From her perspective, Lin Shen’s shoulders, arms, and chest didn’t show strong signs of training, and his muscles weren’t particularly defined.
Yet he could lift a 50 kg barbell so easily. He was genuinely strong.
"Let’s go up to 60 kg."
Lin Shen sat up to rest for a moment. After Lu Ran finished adding the plates, he lay back down on the bench, took a deep breath, and gripped the barbell tightly.
This time, he met with a bit of trouble. The additional 10 kg made the muscles in his upper body tense up.
