Qin Yuenan even caught on to Lin Shen’s hints about poaching talent in a heartbeat, replying nonchalantly.

"I know a lot of employees who are already looking for a better job, and they’re very skilled. I’ll send you their emails later. As for whether or not you can win them over, that’ll be up to you."

"No problem."

Lin Shen smiled confidently.

"I plan on offering them 1.5 times their current salary. With that, why wouldn’t they jump ship?"

Qin Yuenan was taken aback by Lin Shen’s words. From a business standpoint, his approach felt a little off.

"You don’t need to offer such a high salary at the start. That’ll just increase the company’s operating costs, and you’ll have to give them raises later anyway."

"You can give them a decent raise and then focus on providing good benefits, like a proper lunch break, afternoon tea, and things like that. I believe most people who want to switch jobs are leaving because of a poor work environment at their old company."

Lin Shen thought to himself.

’This cracked direct-hiring app covers 40% of their salaries, and I can even deduct it from the GoGo Maps startup fund.’

’It’s practically like paying them for free. So, the more, the merrier, right?’

’I need to attract people to flock to the company in its early stages!’

Of course, Lin Shen didn’t voice these thoughts to Qin Yuenan. He just smiled and replied.

"I’ll handle this. Don’t worry, we won’t be losing much."

"You really have more money than you know what to do with, don’t you?"

Qin Yuenan said teasingly, but she didn’t interfere any further.

After all, Shennan was ultimately Lin Shen’s company. At the end of the day, she was just an "employee."

Lin Shen mentioned casually.

"I hired a secretary."

’A secretary?’

The word put Qin Yuenan on high alert. She stared coldly at Lin Shen.

"Man or woman?"

"A woman. You know her, too."

Lin Shen said with a soft laugh.

"It’s Xu Lei from our team."

"Xu Lei?"

Qin Yuenan frowned, thinking for a moment before finally pulling up information on the woman from the depths of her memory.

She was good-looking and wore black-rimmed glasses that made her seem obedient and quiet.

She also had a great figure and wore black stockings to work every day. A lot of the men on the team often talked about her.

To be honest, Qin Yuenan wasn’t great at remembering faces, especially those of her subordinates.

But Xu Lei was an exception.

It was because her work ethic was quite earnest and meticulous.

Though she sometimes used her wits to slack off, and her professional skills weren’t exactly top-notch.

But for a secretary, she might be a good choice.

She was focused and punctual, never late coming in or leaving, and always completed assigned tasks on time.

Furthermore, her clean and tidy desk suggested she was diligent and organized in her personal life.

Add to that her social butterfly nature that allowed her to get along with everyone, and she seemed quite suited for the role of secretary.

"Don’t tell me you’ve got a thing for her."

Qin Yuenan’s eyes, full of suspicion, narrowed.

"I seem to recall she has a boyfriend, and they’re already engaged."

"You’re surprisingly up-to-date on your subordinates’ gossip."

Lin Shen teased with a smile, then shrugged.

"I don’t have any feelings for her. The problem is how easily she could fall for me!"

Oddly enough, Qin Yuenan thought Lin Shen’s narcissistic comment made a lot of sense.

She felt that just about any woman would inevitably develop a crush on her boyfriend.

Because Lin Shen was just too perfect!

These traits could easily spark a woman’s curiosity, and before she knew it, she would fall deeply and irrevocably in love with him.

To say nothing of a secretary and boss working together every day!

Qin Yuenan knew exactly how things would play out without even having to think about it. She pouted slightly, a little jealous.

"Why didn’t you hire a man to be your secretary?"

"Hmph! You just think Xu Lei is pretty."

"But could she ever be as pretty as you, Nan?"

Lin Shen’s flattering comeback made Qin Yuenan secretly overjoyed, but she maintained her cold facade, crossing her arms and huffing.

"Since you’ve already hired her, what are you asking me for? Did you decide to act first and ask for permission later?"

"I had to ask for the opinion of Her Majesty of the Main Palace, didn’t I?"

Lin Shen said softly, hugging Qin Yuenan with a cheeky grin.

"If you’re against it, I’ll just have Xu Lei do something else. You can help me pick someone new."

"I can’t be bothered to pick one for you."

Qin Yuenan rolled her eyes at Lin Shen.

She knew full well her boyfriend had a wandering eye, so she didn’t make a big deal about it.

In fact, she was even relieved that Lin Shen’s secretary was Xu Lei and not some unfamiliar, beautiful woman.

The latter would clearly pose a much greater threat to her status than the former.

’Rather than adding another rival, why not plant a spy by Lin Shen’s side!’

An idea suddenly sparked in Qin Yuenan’s mind.

’When the time is right, I’ll have a chat with Xu Lei. I’ll get her to help me keep an eye on Lin Shen and stop him from fooling around everywhere!’

For the rest of dinner, she changed the topic to their trip the next day, which she was looking forward to with great anticipation.

"Oh, by the way, there are no direct flights from Modu to Dai City, and a connecting flight would take too long. So I booked us business class seats on the high-speed rail. Just like last time, we’ll leave in the morning and arrive around noon. Sound good?"

"No problem."

Lin Shen said with a soft laugh.

"I already checked the weather forecast. The weather in Dai City should be nice for the next few days. If we do a night hike, we can reach the summit in time to see the sunrise."
