Chapter 2832 - Su Yi’s Back-Up Plan

The Malevolent Sword Venerate smiled faintly. “If you tell me what happened in the Endless Expanse Hidden Realm and how you managed to escape the avatars of three Heavenly Sovereigns, I wouldn’t mind telling you the truth.”

“Then we have nothing to discuss,” said Su Yi. He gestured for Mo Lanhe and Fu Lingyun to step back, then said, “Go ahead and attack.”

The Malevolent Sword Venerate exclaimed, “Aren’t you going to call that master of all evils in to help you?”

Su Yi said calmly, “There’s no need for that.”

The Malevolent Sword Venerate shook his head. “Then you’re really in trouble. Come on, then. Before we determine life and death, allow me to show you where the true danger is hidden in this grand hall.”

With that, he gently flicked his fingertip.

Mysterious black mist silently floated into the air, then spread through the hall like ink, gradually outlining the character for “restrict” in ancient script. As the character took shape, a mysterious energy fluctuation swept through the hall. That aside, there was nothing at all eye-catching about it.

Before long, Mo Lanhe’s expression shifted. He exclaimed, “That character has the power to seal all external treasures!”

As soon as he said this, Fu Lingyun discovered that none of her treasures heeded her call. An invisible power had sealed them completely!

Su Yi’s brow furrowed. He, too, discovered that all of his external treasures, including Miss Baa Baa Black Sheep’s medallion, had been sealed. Only the Sword of the Nine Hells in his sea of consciousness remained unaffected.

The Malevolent Sword Venerate smiled. “This is the power of the Laws of Celestial Restriction and a gift from a powerhouse of the Far Shore of Destiny. They can restrict all treasures; even those belonging to Heavenly Sovereigns will be unable to display even one thousandth of their power!

He paused, then gestured outside the hall. “There’s another treasure in the doorway. It’s called the Two Realms Seal. It might seem like there’s just a doorway separating us from the outside world, but in truth, we effectively stand in a completely different world.”

The Malevolent Sword Venerate then looked at Su Yi. “Well, what do you think? Are these methods enough to help me defeat you?”

It was just as Su Yi anticipated. He’d made Yang Lingxiao and the others wait here because he’d anticipated that Su Yi would come here in search of the Laws of Ketu. That was also why he’d long since set a trap here.

So what if the Sword-Bearer was dead?

So what if the Endless Expanse Hidden Realm had broken?

The Malevolent Sword Venerate had poured his heart’s blood into this operation. There was no way this trap could possibly be so simple.

The Forgotten Palace was blanketed in the Laws of Celestial Restriction, preventing the use of all external treasures. That meant that all trump cards were useless here!

That alone was enough to reduce Su Yi’s threat level to the lowest possible level.

The Two Realms Seal in the doorway, meanwhile, was similar to the Endless Expanse Hidden Realm. It was there to ensure that no one else entered.

Under the circumstances, how could an Unfettered Realm cultivator and his two useless companions possibly be a match for the Malevolent Sword Venerate?

However, the Malevolent Sword Venerate was too cautious to get complacent.

“I know this seal might not be enough to affect that sword of yours,” the Malevolent Sword Venerate said again. “But with your limited cultivation base, you’ll be no match for me even with the sword!”

His gaze grew cold and cruel. “Come on, then. Tell me, with your paltry strength, how can you possibly fight me without external treasures or reinforcements?”

His eyes flashed with blatantly unconcealed disdain.

The atmosphere was oppressive. Yang Lingxiao’s face was pallid, and his heart was tied up in knots.

Mo Lanhe took a sudden step forward, swung his palm like a sword, and attacked the Malevolent Sword Venerate.

Boom!

Blazing sword intent burned like fire, dazzling and imposing.

Mo Lanhe had attacked with all his might, putting his life on the line to give Su Yi a chance to escape.

The Malevolent Sword Venerate just stood there, not moving a muscle. When the slash cleaved into him, sword qi shattered and sword light dispersed without injuring him in the slightest.

And when he swung his sleeves, Mo Lanhe was sent flying backward. He slammed ruthlessly into the wall at the far end of the room, badly injured. Blood gushed from the seven apertures of his face.

“I don’t kill ants, but that doesn’t mean I’ll disregard an ant’s attempts to throw its life away,” the Malevolent Sword Venerate said coldly.

From beginning to end, his gaze was locked onto Su Yi. He disregarded the others completely.

“Why not say anything, Su Yi?” The Malevolent Sword Venerate chuckled. “You were so talkative earlier, and you exposed my identity with such confidence. Why are you so quiet all of a sudden?”

“If I don’t give you the chance to show off, how will I ever know how pathetic this trap of yours really is?” said Su Yi.

The Malevolent Sword Venerate burst into laughter, then suddenly attacked.

He took a step forward, and a swath of sword qi whooshed forth, like a dazzling, resplendent river of stars formed out of sword qi. They rose and fell, outlining endless, unfathomable mysteries of the Grand Dao.

The Binding Cage!

This was an ability condensed from the Laws of the Starscape, then unleashed through the Malevolent Sword Venerate’s attainments in the Dao of the Sword. It had once dazzled the Five Great Continents and astonished everyone beneath the heavens. It was a first-rate divine ability of the Dao of the Sword within the Heavenly Fate Realm.

Both the former Jiang Wuchen and the Malevolent Sword Venerate had relied on this divine ability to hold fast to their position as the Greatest of the Unthroned!

The Malevolent Sword Venerate had no intention of dragging things out. As soon as the battle began, he launched his supreme attack. It was obvious that despite his advantage, he didn’t look down on Su Yi in the slightest.

Boom!

Sword qi flew forth like a coursing river of stars, boundlessly grand and full of endless murderous intent.

Su Yi stayed in place, then suddenly raised his hand and pressed down.

Another river of stars whooshed forth. Shockingly, it was identical to the Malevolent Sword Venerate’s Binding Cage in every way! Even its aura and sword intent were the same!

The entire Forgotten Palace shook, and sword qi scattered on impact, destroying all of the hall’s furniture.

That sheer destructive power astonished Yang Lingxiao and Fu Lingyun, but there was no way they could escape. The entire building had been sealed. There was nowhere left to run. Given their Unfettered Realm cultivation bases, the aftershock was unquestionably more than enough to kill them!

But a figure appeared before them at a critical juncture, hiding the two of them in his sleeves.

This was none other than Su Yi.

“How could you possibly have Heavenly Fate Realm strength?” exclaimed the Malevolent Sword Venerate.

As fiery sword qi swept outward, the Malevolent Sword Venerate asked in confusion, “Don’t tell me you were hiding your strength earlier? No, that’s impossible. How long has it been since you proved your Dao and entered Eternity? How could you possibly have become a Heavenly Monarch already?”

Before his voice had even finished echoing through the air, Su Yi shot over to Mo Lanhe.

“We’re still fighting. How can you possibly spare any thoughts for other people at a time like this?”

The Malevolent Sword Venerate shot forth and attacked, his black robes billowing around him. He was swathed in sword intent like a river of stars, its utterly destructive power shaking the hall to the point that it rumbled continuously.

Su Yi slipped Mo Lanhe into his sleeves, then swung his palm and fought back.

Boom!

A heaven-shaking impact rang out as Su Yi was slammed into the wall.

But the Malevolent Sword Venerate frowned. He isn’t dead! He’s only in the Unfettered Realm. How could he possibly have blocked two of my full-force attacks in a row?

Su Yi, meanwhile, brushed his robes, looked at the Malevolent Sword Venerate, and sighed. “You’re actually quite impressive, you wicked creature. You’re only the heart devil occupying my corpse, yet you managed to cultivate back to my peak strength.”

When the Malevolent Sword Venerate heard that, he finally understood. His eyes blazed with terrifying light. “Jiang Wuchen!?”

Su Yi inclined his head. “Long time no see.”

The Malevolent Sword Venerate stared at him in disbelief. “That kid still hasn’t fused with the Dao Imprint you left in the Sword of the Nine Hells?”

“He has a heart full of grand, far-reaching ambition, and his Eternal Dao is far greater than mine. He naturally has no need to fuse with my Dao Imprint.”

Su Yi had indeed let Jiang Wuchen’s Dao Imprint borrow his body.

The Laws of Celestial Restriction were powerful, but they couldn’t affect the Sword of the Nine Hells. They naturally couldn’t stop Su Yi from summoning the power of his second incarnation’s Dao Imprint.

The Malevolent Sword Venerate’s expression shifted erratically. He really hadn’t expected that Su Yi would play such a trick!

“Now that you mention it, I’ve really got to thank him for giving me a chance to resolve this lingering regret with my own two hands,” said Jiang Wuchen, gazing at the Malevolent Sword Venerate with a complicated look on his face.

In life, he’d always sought to do good, but fate was capricious. It gave him a heart devil that always sought to do evil.

Perhaps his fate was sealed from the moment he acquired the Laws of Rahu. The moment problems arose in his heart, it was inevitable that endless sinful, evil power would destroy his heart and mind.

But none of that mattered anymore. He’d already reincarnated. Now, he had an opportunity to destroy his heart devil. It was enough. Now, he had no regrets left!

“You’re thanking him?” The Malevolent Sword Venerate laughed. “Do you really think the power of a mere Dao Imprint is enough to defeat me?”

Boom!

He attacked once more, his eyes red. This was the murderous intent of someone who’d spotted his most hated foe.

The power of the Laws of the Starscape swept forth like the tide, transforming into endless sword qi. It would have been enough to crush all enemies of the same level with ease.

Jiang Wuchen’s gaze didn’t even ripple as he fought back.

Soon, the two of them were locked in fierce combat.

One was Jiang Wuchen’s Dao Imprint, the other, Jiang Wuchen’s heart devil. When the fighting began, their cultivation bases and divine abilities were shockingly similar.

Perhaps because they understood each other far too well, it seemed there wouldn’t be a clear victor any time soon.

But the Malevolent Sword Venerate threw back his head and laughed. “That’s all you’ve got, and you think you can kill me? Without access to your external treasures, I can just fritter your Dao Imprint’s power away.”

Jiang Wuchen laughed, too. “Thanks for the reminder.”

A sword silently shot out of his forehand and landed in his palm.

The Malevolent Sword Venerate’s laughter came to an abrupt halt. His eyes widened with anger and astonishment.

The Sword of the Nine Hells!

Jiang Wuchen had possessed the sword in life, but he entered the cycle of reincarnation without ever truly mastering it.

The Malevolent Sword Venerate naturally knew that full well.

But he would never have guessed that Jiang Wuchen, who was now just a Dao Imprint, could use this sword!

“I really ought to thank Fellow Daoist Su. It’s thanks to his faith in me that I’ve received this opportunity to wield this sword,” Jiang Wuchen said calmly.

There was no denying it; Jiang Wuchen was as calm and mellow as the rumors said, the very picture of a cultivated gentleman. Even as he fought, he was calm and steady.

When he swung the Sword of the Nine Hells, its hums swept forth like the tide, and unsurpassed sword force swept outward.

The Malevolent Sword Venerate’s scalp went numb, but it was too late to dodge. He could only block head-on.

Boom!

When the Sword of the Nine Hells landed, it could cleave through all Daos.

All attempts to block it broke like paper window paneling.

The Malevolent Sword Venerate was slammed into the ground with a muffled impact.

A single slash was actually this terrifying!
