Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband
Chapter 101: Being A Third Party Is Not Glorious
When Janice saw Yvonne, she quickly parked the car and ran to her.
"Yvonne."
Yvonne saw her coming over and went up to her.
"Why are you here so late? Didn’t I send you a WhatsApp reminder this morning?"
Janice sighed. "I was trying to get rid of my Hubby."
Yvonne frowned. "Doesn’t your Hubby know that you came to the hospital?"
Janice shook her head. Last time when he knew of her plan to eat medicine, he had scolded her. How could she let him know that she was here to see a doctor?
Yvonne said, "It’s good that he doesn’t know. You can give him a surprise." They arrived at the door of the psychology clinic.
Yvonne said, "This is the last day Chief Gray is seeing patients in the clinic. You have to seize the opportunity."
Janice nodded. She walked into the consulting room, feeling nervous for no reason.
She even thought of escaping.
However, Janice recalled her determination, gritted her teeth and walked in.
Half an hour later, Janice walked out of the clinic.
"How was it?"
Yvonne had been waiting outside.
Janice glanced at the patients around. "Let’s talk when we get out."
The two found a small tea-shop nearby and sat down. Yvonne asked.
"So what did the psychologist say?"
Janice frowned. "He suggested creating a suitable atmosphere, or go on a trip."
"Then you can give it a try," Yvonne said.
Janice said, "Forget about going on a trip. My show has just begun. But I could try creating a suitable atmosphere."
"By the way, you can have a look at the resources I sent." Yvonne raised her eyebrows meaningfully.
The mention of resources reminded Janice of the computer problem. She couldn’t help but glare at Yvonne. "What kind of resources did you send? The computer was attacked by a virus."
"No way. Did you click something you shouldn’t have?" Yvonne asked.
Janice was not sure, but she could not figure out a reason for the situation that night.
She suddenly thought of something else.
Her computer was still in the study, she hoped Christopher didn’t find it.
After separating from Yvonne, Janice went to the supermarket purposefully.
The psychologist had suggested that she could create a romantic atmosphere, so she wanted to buy some things to prepare.
As for what to buy, she had researched on the Internet.
There were all kinds of suggestions from netizen.
She felt that a candlelight dinner was the most reliable.
Therefore, she went to the supermarket to buy some candles and put them in her car trunk. She planned to go back at night and have a try.
She returned to the TV station and was stopped by Denise.
"Janice, come with me."
After saying that, Denise turned around and walked towards her office.
Janice was taken by surprise and followed her.
In the office, Denise sat with a cold expression. She was different from her usual friendly state.
Janice didn’t think much about her coldness. She just thought that something had happened. She walked over and asked, "Director Kelshore, what can I do for you?"
Denise looked up at her. After a night of struggle, she finally came to terms that it was not a glorious thing to ruin the family of someone else.
However, she was indignant to think she had wasted three years of hard work.
She had put in everything she had when studying abroad.
It took her a lot of effort to get to where she was. She would not allow failure.
...
Therefore, she had to fight for it.
Thinking of this, Denise’s eyes became much colder. "Have you seen the video of the audition?"
Janice was not used to Denise’s new tone. She paused for a moment before saying, "I’ve seen it."
"What do you think?" Denise asked.
Janice thought for a moment and shook her head. "What does Director Kelshore mean?"
Denise’s gaze fell on her puzzled face. "To tell you the truth, I’m not very satisfied with this audition."
Janice didn’t expect Denise to say that. After all, she hadn’t said that after they finished recording.
"I’ve discussed it with the director. I’ve decided that we’ll record it again to ensure that nothing goes wrong. Get ready to work hard and put in overtime."
After Denise finished speaking, she gazed at the documents on the table.
It was obvious that Denise was giving an order.
Janice was a little puzzled by Denise’s sudden change in attitude.
However, since it was an instruction from the boss, she could only accept it.
It seemed that the idea of a candlelight dinner with Christopher would have to be postponed.
She couldn’t help sighing in her heart, turned around, and went out.
Only then did Denise raise her head and glance at Janice’s departing figure. The corners of her lips curled into a cold and arrogant smile.
In the evening, Christopher returned home alone. Earlier, he had received a WhatsApp message from Janice saying that she needed to work overtime and might go home later.
He went to take a shower. After his shower, seeing that it was still early, he went to the study to read.
The moment he took a book and sat down, he saw the computer beside him.
He remembered that night, Janice had mentioned that the computer was attacked by a virus, and he didn’t know if she had repaired it.
Thinking of this, Christopher put down his book and walked over to open the computer. Suddenly, messy characters filled the screen. It was indeed a virus.
Christopher raised his eyebrows. This kind of virus was not a big deal for him. He
cleared it in a few moves. He restored the system and opened the log to check the cause of the virus.
When he saw the log, Christopher’s eyes popped.
He didn’t expect that Janice, who usually blushed when he held her hands, would look at these things.
Christopher suddenly felt that he didn’t know her anymore.
It seemed that he needed to know more about Janice. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
He shook his head with a smile and turned off the computer. Suddenly, his phone rang. It was from Denise.
He paused and picked it up.
"Chris, are you free tonight? Can you come out?" Denise asked.
Christopher replied, "It’s too late. It’s not convenient."
Just as he was about to hang up, Denise said, "Chris, it’s about me returning to the Bateman Group. I want to discuss it with you."
Christopher merely frowned. "It’s your freedom to return or not. You can decide on your own."
"But Chris, I left because of you."
Denise’s voice was a little cautious, as if she was testing him.
Christopher sneered. "So, you are saying I should be responsible for your departure?"
"Chris, I didn’t mean that. I just want to have a chat with you."
Denise bit her lip.
Christopher frowned and glanced at the time. "I only have half an hour, meet you near the TV station."
Twenty minutes later, Christopher arrived at a music bar near the TV station. He walked in and found where Denise was seated.
"Tell me, what do you want to say?"
Christopher sat down and asked directly.
...
Watching him sit down in front of her, Denise couldn’t help feeling excited. "Chris, do you still remember this place? We used to come here, I remember..."
"Let me remind you that you don’t have much time."
Christopher interrupted her.
A trace of embarrassment flashed across Denise’s face. "Then... what do you want to drink? At least order something first."
Christopher raised his eyebrows. "No need."
His attitude hurt Denise, but then she realized that she hadn’t even harbored hope that he would show up.
Thinking of this, she no longer cared about his attitude and said, "Actually, I just want to ask you what you think when I go back to the Bateman Group."
Christopher frowned. "I’ve already told you on the phone. It’s up to you."
Denise bit her lip. "Then... will you be willing to cooperate with me?"
Christopher frowned. "It doesn’t matter who I cooperate with. What matters is whether the project itself is worth it or not."
Hearing his words, Denise was relieved. She said, "That’s good."
She had already decided that she would return to the Bateman Group after she finished her work at the TV station.
Only when she returned to the Bateman Group will she be able to make regular contact with Christopher.
Christopher glanced at the time. "I’m leaving." He got up and walked out of the door. "Let’s go together."
Denise quickly followed Christopher, and saw him walking in the direction of the TV station.
Thinking of Janice, who had been asked by her to work overtime tonight, he must have come to pick her up.
No wonder their meeting place was arranged near the TV station. Thinking of this, a strange smile flashed in her eyes and she followed him.
"Chris, are you here to pick Janice up?"
Denise asked from behind him.
Christopher ignored her and took out his phone to call Janice. After ringing for a while, she picked it up.
"Are you done? I’m at the entrance of the TV station." Christopher looked inside.
On the other side of the phone, Janice was stunned. She was holding the steering wheel, and her car was driving smoothly on the road.
"Ah? Oh no. I’m already on my way home."
Christopher frowned. He didn’t expect Janice to be finished with work. It seemed that he was late.
He said, "I’ll be right back."
Christopher hung up the phone and turned to walk towards his car. Denise followed him and subconsciously glanced at his expression. "What’s wrong? You’re not waiting for Janice anymore?"
Christopher said, "She has gone home."
Hearing Janice had left, Denise’s lips curled into a smile.
When Christopher chose to meet near the TV station, she had already guessed that he would pick Janice up from work, so she made a special call and asked the staff of the show to wrap up the recording in advance.
That was why Janice left before Christopher arrived.
"Chris, can you give me a lift? I’ve had some wine, so I can’t drive."
Denise said.
Christopher frowned, but he didn’t refuse. "Get in the car."
For him, it was just on the way.
This time, Denise opened the back door very consciously and got in. She fastened the seat belt and looked at the rear-view mirror.
"Janice has a good relationship with our new program host. When Director Taylor strongly recommended her to me, I found it strange that he sent a reporter to host the new program. Later, when I learned that they were schoolmates, everything made sense."
