Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband
Chapter 134: Janice? What A Coincidence!
James was annoyed in an instant.
<No matter what, I am rich and handsome. How could I be ignored like this?>
Thinking of this, James cleared his throat and said, "What do you want to eat today? Please feel free to order. It’s on me."
As he spoke, he pulled out a chair and sat down.
At this time, everyone looked at him. Janice embarrassedly looked at Yvonne. She knew how much Yvonne disliked him. <Yvonne won’t be happy if he pays the bill.>
When Janice thought of this, she hurriedly said, "There’s no need. It’s my treat today."
"How can I let you pay the bill? I’m familiar with the boss here. Of course I should treat you." James said straightforwardly.
Hearing this, Janice looked at Christopher with some embarrassment.
She hoped that Christopher could stop her, but Christopher said, "Since he wants to do so, let him do so."
Janice was dumfounded.
She carefully glanced at Yvonne, only to see her looking down at her phone.
Just as she was worried, her phone rang. It was a message from Yvonne.
Janice was confused because Yvonne just sat opposite her and she could just speak to her. However, she still clicked on it.
"Why is he here?" asked Yvonne.
Janice glanced at her and then typed, "I don’t know either. He is my boss now. Please don’t quarrel with him."
Yvonne frowned. "OK."
Upon seeing her reply, Janice let out a sigh of relief.
"Thank you, Yvonne."
As soon as she put down her phone, she heard Yvonne say, "I want all the dishes on the menu."
As soon as she said that, everyone looked at her in surprise.
Yvonne seemed to ignore all of them. She handed the menu to the waiter and turned
to look at them.
She asked, "What’s wrong? Do you have a problem with that?"
Christopher and James did not speak. James shook her head and said, "Of course not. However, Yvonne, are you sure you want all of them?"
Yvonne nodded. "Of course, isn’t it on Mr. Taylor? Of course I have to show some respect. Mr. Taylor, what do you think?"
James was stunned at first, but when he met Yvonne’s gaze, he quickly said, "Of course."
Since James had said so, there was no need for Janice to continue. However, she did not understand what Yvonne was doing.
"I’m going to the toilet."
Yvonne got up and walked to the toilet.
Janice quickly followed her.
She caught up with Yvonne and asked, "Yvonne, what are you doing?"
Yvonne looked puzzled. "What’s wrong?"
Janice said, "I know you don’t like James, but you don’t have to order everything."
Yvonne said with a shrug, "He’s rich. It’s not a big deal for him."
When Janice was about to say something, Yvonne interrupted, "Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing."
She patted Janice on the shoulder and entered the toilet.
Janice watched her leave. She helplessly shook her head and followed her in. "Chris, we ’re quits."
James finally found a chance to be alone with Chris.
Christopher glanced at him indifferently and did not say a word.
James was anxious.
"Chris, it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have mentioned that matter. Please let me go. Please."
James made a bow with hands folded in front.
...
Christopher looked at James with a frown. Of course, he knew James did it unintentionally.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have let him off lightly.
In fact, he did not blame James, but that project was exactly what he wanted. Even if this matter didn’t happen, he would still take it.
Just when he was about to speak...
"Chris?"
Suddenly, there was a voice from above.
Christopher looked up and saw Sophie standing beside the table.
His eyes turned cold. Pretending as if he hadn’t seen anything, he picked up the glass of water on the table.
Sophie was embarrassed, then she looked at James.
"James."
James’s first reaction when he saw Sophie was to see Chris’s reaction.
He saw Chris remain stolid, but his aura was slightly colder.
He asked, "When did you come back?"
Sophie answered, "I came back two days ago. You are still so handsome."
James was embarrassed by the compliment.
"Really?"
He stroked his hair smugly.
Sophie’s gaze turned to Christopher. Seeing the empty seat next to him, she was delighted.
"Just the two of you?"
Seeing that Chris did not want to answer, James said, "No, there are two more..."
Before he could finish his words, his foot under the table was kicked hard by Chris.
James instantly understood and quickly shut up.
Seeing that James suddenly shut up, Sophie was about to ask him. As soon as her lips moved, Christopher said, "Someone is waiting for you over there."
Hearing this, Sophie followed his gaze and saw Quentin Vincent who came with her standing in the corridor.
She hurriedly explained, "He’s a friend of mine. We..."
Before she could finish her explanation, Christopher interrupted her. "Since you are friends, don’t let him wait too long."
Hearing this, Sophie’s face paled, and she immediately understood his meaning. She embarrassedly looked away and said, "Well, I’ll go first."
After she finished speaking, her eyes fell on Christopher, but he did not look at her.
Instead, he lowered his head to look at his mobile phone.
Sophie pursed her lips with slight disappointment. Later, she left.
After she left, James let out a sigh of relief.
Just now, his heart had been in his throat, and he was afraid that she would blurt out, "eat together". If that happened, things would be complicated.
He subconsciously looked at Christopher. "By the way, didn’t she live a good life in Switzerland? Why did she suddenly come back?"
Christopher did not answer, but his cold face made James understand that he could not mention this topic again.
He could only take back what he wanted to say.
Janice and Yvonne came out of the toilet. From a distance, she saw a familiar figure walking past in the corridor.
She felt that the figure seemed to be Sophie.
Because that figure quickly disappeared, she was unable to see it clearly, and she just thought <I might be mistaken.
Besides, it is not strange to see her here. This is a public place, and anyone could come here.>
Then she stopped thinking about it and sat down. She found that the atmosphere at the table was a little strange and asked in confusion, "What happened?"
Hearing her question, Christopher looked over and asked, "What?"
Janice said, "Why do the two of you look so weird?"
Before Christopher could reply, James cut in, "No, we are quite normal."
"Really?" She looked at Christopher.
...
Christopher didn’t say anything and just nodded.
Only then did Janice stop asking. She picked up her tableware and was about to eat. Suddenly, Christopher said, "I’m going out for a smoke."
As he spoke, he got up and walked downstairs.
Looking at his back, Janice felt weird. <Christopher seldom smokes. Why would he smoke at this time?>
She looked at James, but before she was about to ask if something had happened, he also stood up while saying, "I’m going out to smoke too."
Then James followed Christopher downstairs in a hurry.
Janice was more confused while staring at the two of them. <Why does the two of them together look so weird?>
"Janice, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and eat." Yvonne reminded her.
Only then did Janice pick up her cutlery.
On the other side, Sophie and Quentin sat there while Quentin was asking about her hobbies.
Sophie seemed to be too preoccupied with her own thoughts.
She had just wanted to stay for dinner with Christopher, but he couldn’t wait to drive her away.
<Am I really that hateful and unforgivable?>
Sophie’s mood was getting worse.
"Doctor Valen?" Seeing her in a daze, Quentin called out.
Only then did Sophie come back to her senses and look over. "Mr. Vincent, please order the dishes. I am OK with whatever you want."
"Then, I’ll order it."
Sophie nodded but turned her gaze in Christopher’s direction.
When she chose the seat just now, she deliberately chose a place where she could see his table.
At this time, when she looked over, she found that Christopher was gone. Only Janice and another woman was sitting there.
Sophie stared in that direction and couldn’t help sneering. <It turns out that the reason why they don’t want me to stay for dinner is that Janice is here.>
Thinking of this, Sophie fiercely clenched her fists.
After a while, Christopher had not come back yet. Janice couldn’t help glancing at the stairs. "Where have the two been for smoking? Why haven’t they come back for so long?"
Yvonne answered, "It’s normal for men."
"I’ll go take a look," Janice said.
When she stood up and was about to go downstairs, Sophie came over.
"Janice? What a coincidence!"
When Janie saw Sophie, she remembered the figure she had just seen, which turned out to be Sophie.
She said, "What a coincidence. Are you here to eat roast meat as well?"
Sophie nodded. "I came with Mr. Vincent. We were just talking about you."
"Really?"
"Do you want to share a table with us?" Sophie suggested.
"We’d better not. We still have two people," said Janice.
Of course Sophie knew who the two people were. Her eyes subconsciously fell on the door.
Through the windows, she could see them smoking at the door.
Sophie looked away and narrowed her eyes, saying, "Therefore, I won’t insist. Well, do you want to go over and say hello to Mr. Vincent?" As she spoke, she turned to look at her table.
Janice followed her gaze and saw Quentin Vincent waving his hand. She did not think they were very familiar so she was about to reject her. At this time, she saw Christopher and James coming up from downstairs.
She said, "Maybe another day."
Sophie didn’t really want her to say hello. She just wanted to stall for time. Then she saw Christopher and James coming over.
