Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband
Chapter 206: It’s Like A Nightmare
When Christopher came back, it was already 10 o’clock at night.
Janice had been waiting in the living room. As soon as she saw him, she immediately went up to him.
"Chris..."
She was just about to ask him about his day, but he just walked past her as if he hadn’t seen her at all.
Janice was surprised for a second, then followed up.
Along the way to the bedroom, she remembered that he had carried her back to her room last night, so she said, "Honey, thank you for carrying me back last night."
As she spoke, her heart beat a little fast.
However, not only did Christopher ignore her, but he even took his pajamas and pillow and walked out.
Janice hurried to catch up.
"Chris, where are you going with these things?"
He did not answer, but turned into the guest room next door and closed the door as soon as he entered the room.
Janice stared at the tightly shut door before realizing that he was going to sleep in a guest room.
But why did he choose to sleep in the guest room?
"Was it because I didn’t do as he said to sleep in the guest room?" she thought.
While she was thinking, the door in front of her suddenly opened from the inside.
She was overjoyed. "Chris..."
She wanted to say, "Have you changed your mind?" but was interrupted before she could finish.
"Don’t sleep at the door again. I’m warning you."
With that, he closed the door.
Since she didn’t want to sleep in the guest room, he would sleep in it.
In short, he didn’t want to stay in the same room with her.
Janice could not finish what she wanted to say.
She stood at the door for a long time before turning around and returning to her bedroom in disappointment.
It was the same situation for the next few days.
Christopher went out early and came back at dusk. Even if he came back, he would not say a word to her.
Gradually, even Amelia noticed the anomaly.
She pulled Janice aside and asked, "Janice, what’s wrong with you two recently?"
Although her son was cold and aloof before, he would not be as excessive as he was these days.
It was too much for her to bear.
Janice stared at Amelia. She didn’t know what to say.
Everything had changed since he returned from work that day.
She didn’t know what was wrong with him.
But she knew that their relationship was alienated day by day.
Although they were not very close to each other before, they were like strangers now.
He was more distant than ever before.
She didn’t know why.
She didn’t want it to be like this.
However, what could she do? He was determined to shut her out.
Things seemed to be getting along worse and worse with him.
Amelia could tell that she was upset. She patted her on the shoulder and comforted her. "Don’t be sad. Maybe it’s because of what happened at the office recently. I heard that Rob had resigned and he might still not be used to losing his right-hand man."
Upon hearing Amelia’s words, Janice nodded her head.
Although she didn’t think it was because of Rob’s resignation, she was willing to use it as an excuse.
Because only in this way could she continue to persist.
She went back to her room and did not turn on the light. In the dark, she quietly thought about what had happened during this period of time.
It was like a nightmare. She tried to wake up, but she couldn’t find a way to do so.
She wanted the previous Christopher to be back, but things would not go as she thought.
He rejected her so much that she didn’t even have a chance to recall his memory.
If this continued, she would never be able to find his memories. If his memories would never be restored, what was the point of her staying here?
Thinking of this, she felt extremely downcast.
...
She even wanted to give up.
But she could not.
She hugged her legs and curled up in the corner of the room, like a person who could not find her way in the dark.
She felt so helpless right now.
Suddenly, the phone rang. She sniffled and answered the phone.
"Janice, it’s me."
Yvonne’s voice came from the other end of the line.
She quickly adjusted her emotions and said, "Hi, Yvonne." "Janice, why does your voice sound so weird? Are you crying?" Yvonne felt that something was wrong and asked.
Biting on his lips, Janice tried her best to hold back her tears and shook her head. "No, why are you calling me?"
Yvonne replied, "I just wanted to ask how you have been recently."
After they parted that day, there was no longer any news of her.
Janice wanted to say that she was doing well, but she opened her mouth and could not find the words.
She was in agony. She even felt it was hard to breathe.
Finally, she couldn’t help but sob.
"Yvonne, I feel so exhausted."
She couldn’t restrain herself anymore. Her tears kept falling down her cheeks.
Yvonne’s heart ached when she heard the suppressed sobs on the other end of the phone. She knew that it was not so easy to retrieve memories.
As Janice stood on the roof that day, she had known how difficult the road she chose was.
However, as her best friend, she could only silently support her from behind. "Why don’t you move in and live with me for a while?"
Janice shook her head. Even though she felt gloomy, she would not give up so easily, let alone leave Christopher.
"No need. I’ll try again."
She sniffled and said.
Hearing that, Yvonne stopped persuading her.
"Then you must take good care of yourself. Don’t push yourself too hard." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
"Thank you."
After hanging up the phone, Janice felt much better. She felt a sense of relief after pouring out her heart.
She glanced at the clock on her phone screen.
She could not go on like this. She had to think of a solution.
She couldn’t let her husband get farther and farther away from her.
Thinking of this, she dialed a number.
In the company, Christopher finally finished dealing with the pile of documents on his desk. He got up and stretched himself. Just as he sat back, his phone rang. He picked it up and took a look. It was a call from that woman.
He had not paid much attention to her these days, and she was rather tactful and did not pester him.
But why was she calling at this time?
He frowned and wanted to hang up, but he also wanted to hear what she wanted to say.
So, he pressed the answer button.
"I’d like to talk to you."
A resolute voice came from the phone.
Christopher glanced at his watch. It was time for him to go back.
He replied, "Okay."
He took his coat and went out.
After a while, he saw his wife in the bedroom. She was standing by the window, and there was only a small night lamp in the room, which was very gloomy. He walked over. Christopher was not very used to this situation.
"I’m here. What do you want to talk about?" Hearing his voice, Janice slowly turned around.
Her gaze landed on his face. He had been avoiding her for the past few days, and she did not have a chance to observe him carefully until now.
There was an obvious trace of fatigue on his face.
"He must be worn out from this situation too," she thought.
Thinking of this, she closed her eyes and made up her mind.
She asked, "Have you been avoiding me on purpose these days?"
Hearing her question, the man frowned and said dishonestly, "No."
...
Janice knew that he was lying.
However, she didn’t want to call him out on it.
She paused and said calmly, "I know you’re not used to living with me. But can you give me three months? I only need three months. If you still can’t accept me in that time, then I’ll disappear from your life and never disturb you again, okay?"
She looked at him with pleading eyes.
Christopher looked at her and asked, "Why should I agree to that?"
Janice silently lowered her head in thought for a moment and then said, "Just take it as a transaction. You don’t want to be pestered for the rest of your life, do you?"
When she said this, her hands clenched into fists.
Only God knew that how sad she was while saying these words.
Christopher didn’t say anything and just stared at her.
Daniel’s words rang in his ears. "Chris, whether you admit it or not, this is real. You may not accept it now, but time will show you the real answer."
<Really? If time could give me the answer I want, I could try for three months.>
He thought for a moment and nodded.
"Okay, I agree."
He decided to give himself three months to verify.
Janice sighed in relief when she heard his words.
"However, since it’s a transaction, it’s better to state it clearly in black and white."
He would not give her a chance to take advantage of the situation.
Janice nodded. "Okay, I will draw up a contract. If you have any idea, you can also add it to the contract."
Christopher nodded. "That’s for the best. My first condition is to move out." He would not let his family influence his thoughts.
Janice had no objection to this. In fact, she was more than happy to do so. After all, if he wanted to find his memories, they had to leave this place.
She said, "I agree, but I will decide where to go."
The next day, Janice drew up the contract. After Christopher read it and felt that there was no problem, he signed his own name on it.
The two of them wrote everything clearly in the contract.
After doing all this, Janice told Wanda that she wanted to move out, but she didn’t mention a single word about the contract.
Although Wanda was reluctant to part with her, she could understand. "Janice, you have to believe Chris. He will definitely remember you." Before she left, Wanda hugged her.
Janice nodded. "I won’t say goodbye to grandpa. I’ll come often to see him even if I move out."
Wanda replied, "Don’t worry. I’ll talk to grandpa."
Janice was relieved to hear her words. She waved goodbye to Wanda and got into the car.
The moment the car drove out, her heart fluttered.
She did not know if she had chosen the right way, but this was the only way to keep Christopher with her.
She would try her best in the next three months, whether she would succeed or fail.
Not long after, the car stopped in front of the villa. Janice opened the door and got out.
When she returned to that familiar place, she felt very emotional. It had been less than a month since had left there, but she felt as if a few years had passed.
She took her luggage out of the car and entered the house.
The room had been cleaned before they arrived, and it was still very clean now.
By the time Janice dragged her luggage into the bedroom, Christopher was lingering on the threshold.
His gaze fell on her luggage and he frowned. "You want to share a room with me?"
