From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius
Chapter 253: You Hit Them Way Too Hard
The police sent the three men to the hospital. One of them, his expression manic, screamed and thrashed in the ambulance.
Ultimately, the doctors were helpless and had to administer a sedative.
The doctor told the police, "It’s possible he’s acting this way because he experienced some kind of trauma."
The doctor even provided an example. "For instance, when some people are subjected to certain stimuli, the hippocampus in their brain can be damaged, making them unable to distinguish between reality and illusion."
"My preliminary diagnosis is that the patient is behaving this way because... after killing someone, the resulting fear and trauma damaged a nerve in his brain, leading to this condition."
In the ambulance, the criminal was bound with restraints, but he never stopped roaring.
One moment he was frenzied, the next he was timid, his mouth full of apologies. But a second later, his face would twist into a hideous mask.
"Of course, we can’t rule out the possibility of a hereditary condition."
In short, it was highly likely the criminal was mentally ill.
However, the police weren’t pleased.
If the criminal were ultimately diagnosed with a mental illness or a history of one, then legally, he would not be brought to justice.
As the party involved, Chloe Sinclair had also come to the hospital. Hearing the doctor’s words, her eyes darkened.
’Master, rest assured. The hospital won’t find a thing.’
Hearing Eight’s words, a smile touched the corners of Chloe Sinclair’s lips as she stared intently in the direction the criminal was being wheeled into the operating room.
"You must perform a thorough examination," Chloe Sinclair said slowly. "It wouldn’t do for him to get away with it by faking a mental illness."
’Twenty-four lives were on the line. How could I let these people get off so easily?’
’So many people are watching from beyond the grave.’
Chloe Sinclair’s expression didn’t change in the slightest. After the doctor left, she asked the investigating officer, "When do I give my statement?"
The officer was stunned for a moment, subconsciously looking down at the young girl in front of him.
Chloe Sinclair had the typical build of a southerner—a small frame, and she was a bit shorter than girls from the north.
The officer happened to be a man from the Northeast, and he was quite tall.
The first time the officer saw Chloe Sinclair, she was wearing a loose-fitting, long-sleeved shirt with a small bear printed on it, a pair of black jeans, and plain white sneakers. The look was simple, but pleasing to the eye.
But when he saw Chloe Sinclair’s face, he instantly blushed.
Chloe Sinclair had a pure and fair-skinned face. Her long hair cascaded down her back. Beneath her willow-like brows were a pair of round, almond-shaped eyes that seemed to hold a perpetual smile.
But he only glanced for a moment before quickly composing himself and saying seriously, "You probably can’t leave just yet. Although this was a home invasion, given the current situation, they might hire a lawyer and sue when they wake up. You should be prepared for that. I’ll contact you once we’re at the station."
Fearing Chloe Sinclair would be scared, he added, "Don’t be afraid. You’re not at fault. But if you encounter something like this again, don’t be reckless. Just leave everything to us."
The officer couldn’t help but recall what it looked like when he arrived at the crime scene.
The victim’s two bodyguards were sitting on the lawn, seemingly oblivious to the pained groans of the criminals.
Meanwhile, the lady of the house was still in her room watching TV in the air conditioning, munching on a slice of watermelon.
This was a first for them on a police call.
He realized he’d been mistaken about something.
Chloe Sinclair was definitely not scared.
So, after he finished speaking, the officer paused, then amended his previous statement. "If you run into something like this again, you can’t beat them up so badly. Look at them... you were way too rough this time."
Chloe Sinclair nodded obediently.
