Chapter 308: Beam Invites Princess On A Double Date

After their video game, training for the eSports tournament resumed. The trio needed to strengthen their teamwork. The clicking of keyboards filled the room, the bright glow of three different monitors reflecting off their faces as they focused on the digital characters moving across the map. Every breath was tightly controlled, their fingers moving in a fast, practiced rhythm to keep up with the quick pace of the practice match.

"So, what were you doing in my room last Friday?" Princess asked as she grabbed her game cup and took a sip of her coffee.

Kiara slightly turned toward Princess, who was looking at her, waiting for an explanation.

"I was looking for my jersey, but I didn’t find it," Kiara said. She shrugged her shoulders casually, her fingers resting lightly on the home row keys as she turned her head back to her own monitor.

"I have told you a couple of times I do not have the jersey, and even if I did, I would have given it to you," Princess replied.

"Well, it’s not with me, and your room was the last place I left it. It’s green, has the number 1 on it.." Kiara countered, her voice smooth and unbothered as she executed a quick defensive maneuver on her keyboard.

"Look, Kiara, I don’t have any of your belongings. I gave you every single item that belonged to you." Princess sighed through her nose, her jaw setting into a hard line as she tried to maintain her focus on the matching targets on screen.

"You should help me check again. I really need that jersey. It’s the only one I have."

"Kiara, you have dozens of jerseys, and some you probably haven’t even touched or worn. Trust me, I don’t have it. Even if I did, Faye would have burned it by now. Stop coming into my closet. Don’t do that. Faye doesn’t like it, and if Faye doesn’t like it, she punches. So don’t give her a reason to punch you... Please."

Princess said it more like a plea. Her grip on the mouse tightened, her heart giving a nervous little flutter as she pictured the absolute chaos that would happen if Faye caught the girl sneaking around their clothes again.

"Instead of begging, you should register her for anger management classes. I don’t know why someone like her uses punching as a way of expressing anger. She has punched so many people around her. I mean, she punched you on the first day of school, she punched MG, she punched Beam, and now she has punched my sister, Silviana. I just wonder who’s next to be punched," Kiara said, speaking in a matter-of-fact tone.

"I’m just saying, avoid her to avoid future chaos," Princess muttered as she looked at her monitor.

Kiara looked at her and shook her head. Princess was trying to protect her girlfriend from something she couldn’t control. It was almost pathetic how much the alpha wrapped herself around the omega’s wild behavior.

"Don’t worry about her. She’s a Moon Wolf, very hard to kill. It’s the reason she’s still alive till today." Kiara murmured under her breath, her voice so low it was almost swallowed by the hum of the computer fans.

"I do remember being punched by Faye Grande, but I don’t remember why she punched me. It was at school... on the school field."

Both girls looked at Beam. They had actually forgotten she was there in the clubhouse. Beam hadn’t been coming to training for the past two weeks, her absence leaving a weird, empty gap in their usual rotation until now...

"Do you guys know the reason why she punched me?" Beam asked, her eyes shifting between the two of them, her brow furrowing as she tried to piece together her own fragmented memories.

"No," both girls answered at the same time before returning their attention to what they were doing as if it were the most important thing in the world.

"Princess should know, since you were there. But if you don’t, I’ll just ask Faye when I see her." Beam muttered, her chest expanding with a stubborn breath as she refused to let the mystery go.

"Hey, I told you to stay away from my girlfriend. Do not go asking her questions. No interaction or eye contact. You should even talk to the school principal about transferring to another classroom," Princess said, pointing a finger at Beam.

Kiara simply looked at Princess in disbelief.

"Okay... I won’t. You really are overprotective of her. It’s not like I’m going to eat her or something," Beam muttered as she started playing a solo game.

Then she remembered something. The anger faded from her face, replaced by a sudden spark of excitement as she tapped the desk to get Princess’s attention again.

"Princess, are you and Faye free on Saturday night? Tisha and I are looking for another couple for a double date, and we have three couple tickets to a play."

"I’m always free. I’ll just ask Faye. If she’s free, then we’ll come." Princess answered, her voice softening slightly as she logged out of the practice lobby.

"Thank you." Beam smiled, her shoulders relaxing as she jotted something down on her phone notes.

"W-what about me? Aren’t you inviting me? I’m also part of the group. I should come too," Kiara said. She sat up straight, her eyes narrowing as she looked across the desk at them, her pride taking a clear hit from the exclusion.

"It’s a date, Kiara. There’s no room for a 5th wheel. And your relationship status is single," Princess replied. She didn’t even look up from her screen, her tone sharp and direct as she stated the obvious facts.

"I’m not single. I have someone." Kiara snapped, her chest rising with a sharp, defensive breath as she threw her head back.

"You do?" Princess asked, her eyebrow raising in pure skepticism.

"You do?" Beam echoed, her mouth falling open slightly in genuine surprise.

"Yes. We met a week ago, and she’s very, very free on Saturday. That means it’ll be a triple date. Hahaha." Kiara laughed, the sound loud and fake as she tried to cover up the sudden panic in her own voice.

"Who is she?" Princess asked, already suspecting Kiara was making it up just so she could tag along.

"You don’t have to know her. You’ll get to meet her on Saturday," Kiara said as she started typing on her phone.

"You’re looking for an online date right now, aren’t you?" Princess asked, a small smirk breaking across her face.

"Don’t you have to go pick up your girlfriend and children? I’m sure they must be waiting for you right now. It’s past 7," Kiara reminded Princess, trying to avoid the question. She pointed toward the digital clock in the corner of the monitor, her voice turning sharp to deflect the pressure.

Princess ignored her, picked up her keys, and walked out of the room, leaving Beam and Kiara alone.

It was the first time the two had been alone together since the memory incident.

Both girls stayed quiet, not knowing what to say to each other. Beam kept her eyes locked on her solo game, her breathing turning shallow as she stared at the screen, while Kiara’s fingers froze completely over her phone. Finding the silence awkward, Kiara decided to call it a day and left.
