Chapter 45: North Kai, Kaishin

Ten minutes later.

The Haynor Legion spacecraft landed directly in front of Barnes.

Barnes stood casually atop the severed head of an android.

"Pathetic. I actually expected a little more from you."

With a slight push of his foot, the android’s head exploded.

Blood and mechanical fragments splattered everywhere.

The android technology developed on Eye of Aisa was clearly very different from Sidarco’s creations.

Sidarco’s androids were true artificial humans.

The ones Barnes had destroyed, however, were not fully organic lifeforms.

They were heavily mechanized cyborgs.

Their battle power was decent enough, but nowhere near extraordinary.

Barnes had wiped them out effortlessly on his own.

At the same time, the members of the Special Operations Unit returned one after another.

"Captain!"

Looking at the Haynor Legion ship before them, they frowned in confusion.

"What’s Haynor doing here all of a sudden?"

"Hahaha! Didn’t that old bastard usually avoid us whenever he saw us?"

Barnes spoke seriously.

"Just in case, report this situation back to headquarters first."

"As much as I hate to admit it, Haynor’s battle power isn’t something to underestimate."

"Understood."

If Haynor decided to attack them, Barnes knew perfectly well they would stand no chance.

The difference in power was simply too large.

The Special Operations Unit immediately became cautious.

The ship’s hatch opened.

Footsteps echoed out.

A figure slowly emerged from the spacecraft.

The expected Haynor never appeared.

Instead, a young human stepped into view first.

The officers of the Haynor Legion followed behind him.

Barnes froze.

"Hm? Where’s Haynor?"

Then his expression changed instantly.

His eyes locked onto Atest behind Caelum.

The terrifying aura he had sensed earlier was coming from Atest.

Not Haynor.

What the hell was going on?

Barnes immediately realized something was seriously wrong.

He glared at Zadamor coldly.

"Zadamor, what’s the meaning of this?"

"This planet belongs to the Pajero Legion."

...

Zadamor remained expressionless and silent.

Every officer of the Haynor Legion stood obediently behind Caelum, waiting for their Commander to speak.

Barnes’ gaze slowly shifted toward Caelum.

Caelum’s eyes swept calmly across the members of the Special Operations Unit.

Then his aura erupted.

Without making a single move, the overwhelming pressure alone blasted every member of the Special Operations Unit flying backward.

Boom!

Barnes felt as though he had been struck head on by a devastating energy cannon.

Every bone in his body nearly shattered.

A mouthful of blood sprayed from his lips.

His face turned deathly pale with shock.

"How can someone have an aura this powerful?!"

Not even Commander Pajero had ever made Barnes feel such horrifying pressure.

In that instant, all desire to fight vanished from his mind.

Winning was impossible.

Against a monster like this, they did not even have a one in ten million chance.

Barnes struggled out of the rubble in miserable condition and stared at Caelum.

"Who the hell are you?"

"Haynor Legion never had someone like you before."

Caelum ignored him completely.

He walked calmly toward one of the heavily damaged androids Barnes had beaten nearly to death.

Then he spoke casually.

"Zadamor. Atest."

"Kill them."

"Yes, Commander!"

"Yes, Commander!"

Boom! Boom!

Two terrifying auras erupted simultaneously.

Zadamor and Atest attacked without hesitation, crushing toward the Special Operations Unit.

Despair instantly flooded Barnes’ face.

What the hell was happening?!

He could not understand it.

How had the Haynor Legion’s strength increased this drastically in such a short amount of time?

Whether Barnes accepted reality or not did not matter.

Zadamor and Atest were already upon them, leaving the Special Operations Unit no path to survival.

"You bastards just wait!"

"Commander Pajero won’t let this go!"

Barnes roared desperately.

A moment later, Zadamor vaporized him with a single energy blast.

Against two opponents with 120000 battle power, the Special Operations Unit died quickly and cleanly.

The entire squad was wiped out within moments.

When Caelum had infiltrated Sidarco’s supercomputer, he had learned quite a bit about the android research projects.

Besides cultivating true androids through Super Cells, Sidarco had also developed two additional branches.

One was the Cyborg Project.

The other was the Biohuman Project.

Strictly speaking, both cyborgs and biohumans still fell under the category of androids.

Their potential simply could not compare to naturally cultivated artificial humans.

The technology developed by Eye of Aisa belonged to the second category.

Mechanical enhancement fused with living flesh.

"A boring technology."

Caelum crushed the damaged android beneath his foot.

[Super Drop Rate Triggered]

[Obtained Bloodline: Eye of Aisa Cells]

[Fuse Bloodline?]

[Fuse]

"Now that’s a pleasant surprise."

Eye of Aisa Cells enhanced the body’s regenerative and healing speed.

Once fused into Caelum’s Super Cells, the rate of cell division and regeneration improved even further.

His healing factor had already been monstrous before.

Now it became downright terrifying.

Caelum took out another Spirit Tree seed and tossed it into the ruins.

Massive roots immediately spread outward.

The rubble churned violently as the Spirit Tree burst from the ground and began growing at explosive speed.

At the same time.

Somewhere along the Path of Sumeru.

A chubby man with long ant like antennae suddenly jolted upright in alarm.

"A Spirit Tree?!"

The Path of Sumeru did not only contain the Realm of Yama, Hell, and Heaven.

Beyond the Realm of Yama existed four Kai Planets, each ruled by a Kai.

Together, they governed and monitored the balance of the four Galaxies.

This particular Kai was the ruler of the North Galaxy.

North Kai, Kaishin.

A divine being whose status far surpassed that of ordinary planetary gods.

A planetary God’s Divine Sight could observe an entire world.

Kaishin’s Divine Sight, however, monitored every planet throughout the entire North Galaxy.

"This is going to become troublesome..."

Kaishin frowned deeply, his entire chubby face wrinkling together.

To Kaishin, the birth and destruction of planets were simply part of the universe’s natural balance.

Even if someone destroyed planets constantly, it normally did not warrant intervention.

At most, he would occasionally create new life bearing planets to maintain equilibrium.

However...

Once the scale and speed of destruction crossed a certain threshold, he would be forced to interfere and eliminate whatever threatened the balance of the universe.

Spirit Trees unquestionably fell into that category.

The problem was that although Caelum possessed the potential to destabilize the balance of the universe, the level of destruction he had caused so far had not yet crossed the line requiring Kai intervention.

Bound by the laws governing divine authority, Kaishin currently could not act against him.

But if he waited until Caelum finally crossed that line...

By then, Caelum might already have grown into an unimaginably terrifying existence.

Finding someone capable of stopping him at that point would become nearly impossible.

That was why Kaishin was troubled.

He sighed heavily.

"All I can do now is hope things don’t develop into the worst possible outcome..."

"Otherwise, I honestly have no idea how this is supposed to end."
