Gasp! She's a Time Traveler Using Modern Tech to Improve Ancient Life
Chapter 856 - 849: Drunk
The drunk person was really heavy, but luckily Lin Wanwan wasn’t the average girl in terms of strength.
She hauled Lu Shouyue to the guest room, intending to lay him down on the bed. Instead, she ended up getting pulled down with him, crashing onto the bed, with him pressing on top of her.
Thinking that this was her master’s house guest room, Lin Wanwan’s sense of shame skyrocketed, and she quickly pushed the drunkard away, sitting up.
"Don’t go, stay with me." Lu Shouyue held on to Lin Wanwan, his eyes glazed yet persistent, with an odd look as if he wanted to devour her.
Lin Wanwan instinctively wanted to get up, but Lu Shouyue suddenly leaned in, gripping her chin and kissing her fiercely.
The moment she was kissed, Lin Wanwan’s heart stopped, and she closed her mouth and eyes. It felt like her brain was taking a vacation, while an electric current swiftly surged through her body, causing a tingling sensation.
Even though they often kissed, his drunk kisses felt very different from usual, giving the impression that he’d go wild at any moment.
He had just been a cuddly white rabbit, but all of a sudden, he seemed to transform into an aggressive big bad wolf.
Does he really not know what he’s doing?!
Lin Wanwan should have pushed him away because the door was not closed, and the master’s wife might see them at any moment. But she couldn’t gather any strength to do so.
After a deep kiss, Lu Shouyue stared at her, his gaze extremely seductive, tangling with her reason: "Darling, I love you so much, I want you so much..."
Lin Wanwan was unsure if he was truly drunk or just pretending. He had no slurred speech whatsoever and kept sweet-talking incessantly.
If one ignored what he was saying, others might have assumed he was giving a serious speech.
Lin Wanwan listened to his bold and seductive words, her cheeks burning, feeling mentally devoured.
Luckily his voice was low, so she didn’t worry about others outside hearing it.
As he spoke, his voice gradually faded away. Turning her head, Lin Wanwan saw that Lu Shouyue had already leaned against the bedhead and fallen asleep, his thick eyelashes lowering, sealing those naturally alluring eyes.
He looked so noble and restrained in his sleep, extraordinarily handsome, obviously from a well-bred family.
Just looking at his elegant sleeping face, no one could imagine that a second ago, he was spouting endless words of high embarrassment.
Lin Wanwan let out a gentle breath, unable to resist pinching his face: "Humph, truly a wolf in sheep’s clothing."
Hmm, this term fits perfectly!
Lin Wanwan laughed, pulled him down to make him more comfortable, and forcibly withdrew her hand, which was tightly entwined with his, then turned and left the room.
Lu Shouyue woke up even earlier than Master Liang; the latter was older, drank too much, and couldn’t metabolize it easily.
Although Lu Shouyue drank much more, his young and fit body fared better.
"Master’s Wife, I got drunk. I hope I didn’t cause too much of a scene," Lu Shouyue said sheepishly.
The master’s wife looked at the tousled-haired, lazy-looking Lu Shouyue with a smile and said, "No, not at all. You just slept when you got drunk, very quietly."
Lin Wanwan blushed at the side, knowing it wasn’t quiet at all; he dragged her, with forceful kisses and confessions.
Lu Shouyue glanced at Lin Wanwan and gave a warm smile: "Glad I didn’t cause trouble. I’ll go rinse my mouth."
Coming out of the restroom, he naturally sat beside Lin Wanwan, his clean, slender hands picking up dried shrimp from the tray on the coffee table, skillfully peeling it and handing it to Lin Wanwan.
These were dried shrimp from the Great Tang, pollution-free and high-quality, much to Lin Wanwan’s liking.
When visiting Master Liang’s house for New Year, Lin Wanwan brought two pots of wine from Jie Yuting (though Jie himself didn’t raise the price, it’s quite pricey in a small circle), and a box of various dried goods from the Lin Family Manor (including fish gelatin), and a box of fresh seafood.
The master’s wife knew Lin Wanwan liked seafood, so she put the dried goods on a tray for everyone to enjoy together.
While chatting casually with Lin Wanwan, she observed Lu Shouyue, noticing his pampering look as he peeled shrimp for Lin Wanwan, and secretly nodded in approval.
A man who knows how to take care of his wife, this young man is pretty good.
They had dinner at Master Liang’s house again, this time without being stuffed with alcohol. They opened Lin Wanwan’s gifted wine for a little taste and praised it highly.
Upon hearing that it was homemade by a high-class chef in Yongcheng, Master Liang was amazed, marveling at the hidden talents of the common folk.
When they left Master Liang’s house, it was still early, just past nine in the evening.
The night life in the Ancient City was far richer than in Yongcheng. Sitting in the car watching the hustle and bustle, the street shops’ festive decorations, they felt the thick New Year atmosphere.
They initially planned only to have lunch and take a charter flight in the afternoon since tomorrow is New Year’s Eve.
However, Lu Shouyue and Master Liang both got drunk, and plans couldn’t keep up with changes, so they decided to stay overnight in the Ancient City.
Previously, the two small courtyards they rented in the Ancient City had long been bought by Lu Shouyue, and the fences in the middle were removed, merging into one.
Due to the old and outdated conditions of the previous courtyards, particularly the interior appliances like air conditioning, Lin Wanwan didn’t quite like it. And the villa purchased by Lu Shouyue was located in the suburbs, inconvenient for commuting, so she usually preferred staying in hotels on her visits to the Ancient City.
So Lu Shouyue simply renovated the courtyard, not clinging to its original appearance.
The once two single-story, simple courtyards had been transformed into an outer and inner three-story layout. A basement floor and two above-ground floors with traditional classical quadrangle courtyard style.
The courtyard adorned with small bridges, flowing water, greenery, and partition walls, coupled with weatherproof veranda corridors, exuded Tang-style charm.
Everything changed except the location where they once stayed.
It was only because Lu Shouyue was wealthy and spared no expense that he could secure all the renovation permits.
Lin Wanwan followed to the renovated courtyard site, utterly amazed.
"Mr. Lu, you certainly have hidden sanctuaries everywhere! It’s completely transformed!"
"Is this your preferred style?"
Lin Wanwan looked around and nodded, "Yes, I like it a lot."
"Then you can stay here next time you come to the Ancient City for your studies." Lu Shouyue smiled, pulling her inside.
"Oh."
For some reason, Lin Wanwan recalled the scene of Lu Shouyue’s drunken ramblings that afternoon and remarked, "Hey, you promised me not to get out of hand before marriage."
Not long left until the marriage, no need to rush, and Lin Wanwan wasn’t mentally prepared yet.
The main thing is tomorrow is New Year’s Eve, and she’s going to dine with Lu Shouyue’s family. She’s worried she won’t have the energy if things get out of hand, just as books say.
That’s not acceptable. She wants to be at her best.
Lu Shouyue turned back with mock annoyance: "Got it, you little rascal, no need to remind me."
Lin Wanwan beamed, grabbed Lu Shouyue’s arm, and stepped inside, her pace a tad more brisk.
