Genius Noble With System
Chapter 489: Followers
Slowly the warship flew away, and the god ruins returned to calm. But the warriors of Rion weren't able to calm down as they felt the change.
The invisible barriers that had once muted the world were gone. Now, they could clearly feel it—the change.
The transformation of Rion. They understood what it meant. And strangely… it didn't bring them comfort.
Yes, the changes were beneficial. The surge of energy, the restoration of the world's rules—it meant cultivation would become easier, faster. Future generations would rise far beyond what had once been possible.
But for them, it was different.
They were at the peak of their power, and now suddenly they will all lose it. They wouldn't be the decision-maker anymore, which let them feel a bit uncomfortable.
Apollo didn't care about that; what he cared about were the changes of Rion, more importantly the loosening of the seal.
Before, the limits of Rion barely allowed half-step Transcendents to exert their full strength. Anything beyond that was heavily suppressed.
But now… that restriction had weakened significantly.
From what he could sense, even peak Third Order Transcendents could now move freely within Rion.
Perhaps even Supremes could move freely, though he couldn't yet determine the extent of their restrictions.
This means from now on Rion Supremes can make their move, but thankfully he was sure Rion hadn't reached its full potential yet and Sovereign shouldn't be able to come out just yet.
Now he needed to be careful, as he could not be sure about the supremes, as every single one of them is terrifyingly strong and possesses numerous trump cards.
Just then, Herold approached him.
"There's something you should know," he said, his tone serious.
"We just received word—there will be a high-level gathering of the human factions in a month's time."
Apollo glanced at him.
"Where?"
"The Human Empyrean City."
The so-called human empyrean city is an ancient city that is said to have been built at the beginning when the first emperor of humans claimed his title.
It is a very secretive city that appears in every era, and now it seems to have just appeared. This city was so famous that even he had heard about it, as this is the sacred place for humans.
"Alright then, hopefully we meet again in Human Empyrean City," and then Herold left.
With that said, the different groups also slowly started to leave the God ruins as they quickly wanted to return to their respective clans and make arrangements for the future chaos.
Lucifer and others from the Sacred Light Empire were also ready, and they wanted to follow him.
Apollo agreed, as it didn't matter to him. They brought out their skyship, and then their group also left the god ruins.
But the moment they emerged, they realised just how drastic the changes in Rion truly were.
Everything had changed.
The lands they once knew were no longer recognisable. Mountains had shifted. Valleys had deepened or vanished. Even the horizon itself felt… different.
It was as if the world had been reshaped entirely.
For a brief moment, they were disoriented—unsure of their bearings, unable to match what they saw with their memories.
But fortunately, the skyship's navigation system remained intact.
Having locked onto their destination beforehand, it quickly recalibrated and corrected their course.
Slowly, they found their way again.
They watched slowly through the windows of their skyship as they flew away. The land was completely different, as even though it should be in part which previously belonged to the Necros continent, they still felt different energies, not the previous eerie deadly energy.
The land seemed to gain a bit of vitality, and mountains and rivers seemed to regain life.
They travelled for a long time. Far longer than expected.
By now, they had already covered more than twice the distance it had taken them to arrive at the ruins—yet they still hadn't crossed the Necros Continent.
The scale of Rion had expanded beyond comprehension.
Apollo, on the other hand, was also surprised, as he felt many faint senses of lives as they moved towards their homes, which previously he didn't feel. Not to mention he felt these life signals belonged to quite strong beings; even he felt quite a few who seemed to have reached a transcendent level.
All of this was his simple scanning, yet he felt transcendent-level lives. So who knows how many are truly hidden here.
He could fly many times faster than the skyship, but he didn't do that, as he wanted to see and experience the changes of Rion, which would let him understand the changes well.
The ship continued to fly, and after a week they finally arrived at the land belonging to the eastern continent or that used to be part of the eastern continent.
As Apollo stood at the edge of the deck, preparing to leave—
suddenly—
Thud.
Thud. Thud.
Lucifer, Michael, and the others from the Sacred Light Empire dropped to their knees.
Their movements were decisive, their expressions resolute.
"Master Apollo, please accept us as your subordinates." Their voice echoed throughout the skyship.
"Oh, you want to follow me, Crown Prince of the Sacred Light empire. Why?" He asked with a calm voice, like he wasn't surprised by their sudden decision.
Lucifer lowered his head further.
"Master Apollo, as you've likely realised… we were already abandoned when the Empire sent us here."
His voice carried a trace of bitterness, though he kept it controlled. "Since we've been discarded, it no longer matters where we stand."
He hesitated briefly, then continued with conviction.
"But more importantly… we have witnessed your strength."
"And we understand your talent."
"To follow you would be the greatest honour we could hope for."
Apollo looked into the eyes of Lucifer and seemed to see through him. Lucifer at the moment felt terrifying, as everything about him had been seen through, like nothing about him could be hidden in front of these eyes.
"Very well, you and everyone here can follow me. But remember this, once you choose this path, all other thoughts must be abandoned."
"If you ever betray me…"
His voice turned colder.
"…it will not end well for you all."
