Getting Stronger By Fighting
Chapter 781 - 779: Reunion_1
But for them, the biggest shock was Wang Zhan’s overwhelming strength. After all, they could feel that the Dark Priest’s power was enough to crush Wang Zhan, and the Dark Priest was merely one step away from the realm of the Tribal Patriarch.
Compared to Wang Zhan, the difference was like day and night. However, they never expected that even under such absolute suppression, Wang Zhan could still slay the Dark Priest. This clearly demonstrated just how terrifyingly powerful Wang Zhan truly was.
Wang Zhan narrowed his eyes and glanced at the Light Priest standing in the distance. He then slowly walked up to him and said, "I’ll only say this once. My purpose in coming to the sea domain is simple: I’m searching for my companion. However, I can’t determine his location at the moment, so I still need your help. Naturally, it would be best if you cooperate. If you don’t, I believe you already know the consequences."
As he spoke, Wang Zhan revealed the black beads in his hand.
Upon seeing these items, the expressions of the Light Priest and the Thunder Priest changed drastically. They had never expected Wang Zhan to possess such terrifying objects. The power of a single bead was enough to deal with one Priest, yet they never imagined he had so many black beads.
The Light Priest’s face turned particularly grim. Jiang Yin was still eyeing him menacingly from the side, and the Thunder Priest was a spent force, unable to fight anymore. Even if they could withdraw from within the barrier, given Wang Zhan and Jiang Yin’s means, breaking through this barrier wouldn’t be difficult. They would still have to clash head-on. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
After considering the pros and cons, the Light Priest looked at Wang Zhan, then said slowly, "Describe your friend’s appearance. I’ll see if I can recall anything. If I can help you find your friend, that would be ideal. But if I can’t, perhaps your friend isn’t in this sea domain, and you’ve come to the wrong place."
Wang Zhan nodded. He glanced at Han Junxiong and Jiang Yin beside him, noticing they had both moved to his side. Although Jiang Yin was quite powerful, he had also been somewhat affected. It wouldn’t be easy for him to unleash his peak combat power now. It’s better to use the black beads to ensure their protection.
Wang Zhan walked up to the Light Priest and Thunder Priest, who had stepped to one side and were watching him closely, and described Luo Xue’s appearance.
The two Priests exchanged glances but still had no recollection. The Light Priest said, "We have indeed captured many young women recently, but their numbers are too great to remember each one. And, as you said her power isn’t particularly formidable, she wouldn’t have left a strong impression."
The Thunder Priest beside him also nodded.
Wang Zhan’s expression immediately hardened. Frowning, he asked, "So, you’re saying you don’t intend to hand her over?"
The Light Priest quickly shook his head and explained, "No, our intention is to take you to the place where we hold captives so you can look around. If you can find your companion, that’s excellent; you can leave with them. If you can’t, then you can’t blame us."
Wang Zhan nodded. This was indeed a good solution, he thought.
Since they had reached an agreement, Wang Zhan didn’t hesitate and followed the two Priests out of the barrier. The palace was not large, but it contained numerous huge cages. If his group hadn’t been confined within the barrier earlier, they would have already turned the entire palace upside down searching.
Wang Zhan looked at the young women in the cages. He then took the Deep Fire Blade in his hand and, as he walked past each cage, he smashed it open.
Seeing this, the Light Priest’s expression instantly darkened. Glaring at Wang Zhan, he demanded, "What is the meaning of this?"
Wang Zhan said coolly, "What you’re doing is against natural justice. Of course, I won’t stand idly by. If you disagree, then we can all perish together. I believe these young women would rather die here than become your sacrifices."
As he spoke, Wang Zhan once again produced the black beads. As expected, the Light Priest’s expression darkened considerably upon seeing them. He retreated a few steps, clenched his fists, and ground out through gritted teeth, "Do as you please."
"But let me warn you: the mountain doesn’t move, but the water changes course. Kid, don’t take things to extremes. After all, no one knows what the future holds. Don’t have regrets when you find yourself at a dead-end."
Wang Zhan simply shrugged, completely ignoring his threat. With these black beads in hand, even the Light Priest and Thunder Priest understand their terrifying power. Even if they manage to leave the palace, they surely wouldn’t dare to provoke him rashly. Besides, with the System’s aid, his strength is rapidly increasing. Surpassing the Light Priest isn’t an insurmountable task; he just needs some time to quickly eclipse him. At that point, he wouldn’t even need to use any trump cards to face the Light Priest head-on.
In the blink of an eye, Wang Zhan had opened more than half the cages. The rescued young women stood behind him, their faces filled with gratitude. After all, if Wang Zhan hadn’t appeared, they would most likely have become sacrifices. Forgetting leaving these cages, even seeing daylight again would have been an arduous task.
However, with every step Wang Zhan took, his expression grew a fraction more grim. He still hadn’t seen any sign of Luo Xue, and a sense of unease settled in his heart. If he continued like this and still couldn’t find her, what would he do then?
The sea domain was indeed vast. If he couldn’t find Luo Xue here, it would be like searching for a Needle in the Sea, making the task of finding her even more difficult.
In what felt like the blink of an eye, only two cages remained before Wang Zhan.
Each cage held only a few dozen young women. Wang Zhan hesitated, almost afraid to act. If Luo Xue wasn’t in these last ones, the consequences would be unbearable.
Just as Wang Zhan raised his Deep Fire Blade, a sudden cry reached his ears, "Brother Wang!"
Hearing this voice, Wang Zhan’s expression changed instantly. He quickly walked over to the young woman who had called out, his eyes widening as he looked at her. He firmly gripped her arm and said, "I didn’t expect you to actually be here! It seems this trip wasn’t in vain after all."
Indeed, the person standing before Wang Zhan was none other than Luo Xue.
Luo Xue, though disheveled, looked at Wang Zhan with extreme happiness. She hugged his arm and, out of habit, nuzzled her head against it before speaking, "I never expected to see Brother Wang here! This is wonderful! You have no idea how worried I’ve been. I even thought I’d never see you again."
Wang Zhan smiled and said, "I told you, didn’t I? No matter where you went, I would find you. So, there’s no need to worry. And now that we’re reunited, I won’t let you fall into such a situation again."
Luo Xue nodded immediately. Glancing at Wang Zhan in surprise, she hurriedly asked, "From what you’re saying, does that mean you’ve already reunited with Xiang Tian?"
At the mention of Xiang Tian, Wang Zhan’s expression changed slightly. He sighed and explained, "We have indeed reunited. However, Xiang Tian’s condition is much worse than yours. Although his strength has greatly improved, he himself has been significantly affected. Moreover, if he hadn’t encountered me when he did, he would likely be a cold corpse by now."
"But thankfully, his life was saved."
Luo Xue, beside him, nodded gravely. "As long as the three of us can be together, that’s what matters. Strength and such aren’t that important. After all, we have plenty of time to grow stronger gradually. But we only have one life, and on the Star War Battlefield, it’s truly a place where the strong prey on the weak."
"Being able to preserve one’s life is enough."
Wang Zhan looked at Luo Xue with a puzzled expression. Clearly, the Luo Xue he knew had changed somewhat. It seemed she had matured considerably during this time. Unfortunately, while her mindset had changed, her strength hadn’t progressed at all; she was still at her previous realm.
After patting Luo Xue’s shoulder, Wang Zhan waved to the rescued young women, ignoring the Light Priest and Thunder Priest standing to the side. "Since everyone is alright now, let’s leave this damned palace."
Hearing this, Luo Xue was startled. She subconsciously glanced back at the Light Priest and Thunder Priest standing not far off, then furrowed her brows and said, "Brother Wang, those two are the ones who brought me here."
Wang Zhan certainly understood Luo Xue’s intentions. He was well aware that if he truly angered the two Priests, the outcome would undoubtedly be mutual destruction. Even the black beads would be unlikely to decisively turn the tide of battle.
"Don’t worry," Wang Zhan reassured her. "There will be time. I’ll make them pay with their lives eventually."
