Getting Stronger By Fighting
Chapter 797 - 795 Returning to Flying Cloud City_1
Wang Zhan’s expression changed instantly, and everyone could perceive his palpable fury.
After all, had he not arrived in time, Xiang Tian and the others might have already become corpses.
A huge blade of light suddenly descended on the Nine Heavens Mysterious Fire Formation. Although the two Priests had pushed their means to the limit, they still couldn’t deflect this blade of light. In just a moment, the massive blade of light forced the two back. As the blade fell, the Fire Dragons circling the Nine Heavens Mysterious Fire Formation began to vibrate rapidly, transforming into a Sea of Fire. The two Priests were quickly put at a disadvantage under this assault.
Wang Zhan squinted, lifting the Deep Fire Blade in his hand again, his eyes filled with indifference. "Since you’re choosing the path to death," he said, "don’t blame me for being ruthless."
The next second, a cold smirk touched Wang Zhan’s lips. He gripped the Deep Fire Blade and charged at the two Priests, every slash filled with rage.
The two Priests pushed their means to the extreme. However, with Jiang Yin attacking from afar and Han Junxiong and the others watching eagerly, they soon found themselves at a disadvantage.
Wang Zhan stood proudly in mid-air. After a quick glance at the two Priests, he spoke in a deep voice, "You brought this upon yourselves. No one else is to blame."
The Light Priest clenched his fists, shot a cold glance at Wang Zhan, and then roared, "I know your combined strength is formidable, but killing me won’t be easy! I’ll make you realize that we Priests are not to be trifled with!"
In the next instant, the Light Priest clenched both fists, and his body was enveloped by screens of light. The energy fluctuations around him became extraordinarily powerful.
Wang Zhan’s expression changed instantly. He squinted, subconsciously glancing at the Light Priest. Then, he gestured to those around him and shouted sharply, "This bastard intends to self-destruct!"
Immediately, Xiang Tian and Han Junxiong instructed everyone to retreat quickly. Luo Xue rushed in front of the group and created a huge level barrier. After all, if the Light Priest self-destructed, the resulting energy fluctuations could instantly kill the girls, who had no cultivation.
Jiang Yin rapidly plucked the strings of her instrument, creating illusory beasts to intercept the energy fluctuations. Wang Zhan, without hesitation, swiftly raised his Deep Fire Blade and slashed down fiercely.
A tremendous explosion echoed through the air.
Wang Zhan’s face turned grim. He had never expected the Light Priest to actually self-destruct here. Clearly, the Light Priest had been driven to extreme fury. After all, Wang Zhan’s appearance had thwarted his plans twice, not only damaging his cultivation but also leaving him completely immobilized.
Sensing the intense energy fluctuations, Wang Zhan quickly pulled a black bead from his pocket and hurled it toward the ripple of energy.
With a deafening boom, the two energies collided. Huge waves surged on the sea surface; this collision had clearly caused a shift in the Heavenly and Earthly Energy. Fortunately, under the massive explosion, the storm that had formed over the sea domain also vanished.
After the brief explosion, Wang Zhan slowly lifted his head. When he looked again, the figures of the two Priests were nowhere to be found. Evidently, the Light Priest’s self-destruction had left the Thunder Priest with no chance of survival.
Wang Zhan walked step by step towards the group. He glanced at the terrified girls and finally said, "Alright, everything has been settled. You don’t need to worry anymore. I’ll take you all back to Flying Cloud City. All you need to do is stay there quietly."
The girls all nodded instantly, their eyes filled with respect and awe as they looked at Wang Zhan. After all, his strength was evident; he had saved them from danger unscathed multiple times. If they hadn’t encountered Wang Zhan, how could they possibly be here?
Wang Zhan paid no mind to their gazes. He walked over to Xiang Tian, looked him up and down, and then asked, "Are you feeling alright?"
Xiang Tian waved his hand, a smile playing on his lips. "If you hadn’t shown up in time, I’m afraid I’d be a corpse by now."
Nearby, Han Junxiong also nodded. Everyone knew the previous battle had been intense, a true life-or-death struggle. Had they all risked their lives, none of them would have survived; they had even been prepared to fight to the death. However, no one had expected Wang Zhan to appear at such a critical moment and help them escape.
Wang Zhan walked over to the two of them, took the two elixirs from their hands, and turned his gaze back to Xiang Tian. "Give me all the elixirs of that type you have," he said.
Xiang Tian scratched his head and grinned. "I only have these last two. I was planning to take them myself, but since Han Junxiong wanted one, I shared, considering it was a do-or-die situation just now." He then added, "So, how could I still have any more of these elixirs?"
Wang Zhan’s expression hardened. He grabbed Xiang Tian’s collar and said irritably, "I’ve asked you for these before, and you told me you’d used them all up. I can’t believe you still have this garbage! So how am I supposed to believe you?"
Luo Xue approached Xiang Tian, patted his shoulder, and gently pulled the two apart. She said with a smile, "Just listen to Brother Wang. Hurry and give all those elixirs to him. They offer you no real benefit; they’ll only burden your body and worsen your injuries. Have you forgotten? If Brother Wang hadn’t helped you before, you wouldn’t just have lost your life—even if you’d recovered, you would have become a cripple. So, ultimately, these elixirs do you no good and will only aggravate your condition. Stop making everyone worry."
Upon hearing this, a bitter expression crossed Xiang Tian’s face. He could feel Luo Xue’s strength steadily climbing, to the point where she could now rival Wang Zhan. When the three of them first entered this area, he had been second only to Wang Zhan. But now? Luo Xue, who had always been the weakest and needed their protection, had received such a fortunate opportunity, and her strength was rapidly increasing. How could he possibly be happy about this?
For a moment, Xiang Tian slowly lowered his head and said helplessly, "Brother Wang, this is one of my trump cards. Without it, if I encounter an unexpected situation, I won’t even have a chance to defend myself. Although taking the elixir has severe side effects, it can at least save my life. So please, don’t force me. Let me keep it. Rest assured, I won’t use it unless it’s absolutely a last resort."
Wang Zhan frowned slightly. He could sense what Xiang Tian was thinking. After all, they were both men and naturally didn’t want to stand behind a woman. Yet, that was the reality. Luo Xue’s strength had improved, granting her the ability to protect everyone, including Xiang Tian. If Wang Zhan were in his shoes, he wouldn’t feel good either. But he didn’t want to see Xiang Tian feeling so dejected. More than that, he didn’t want to lose Xiang Tian as a brother over this.
As the seconds ticked by, Wang Zhan hesitated for a moment before finally changing his mind. He looked at Xiang Tian and said, "Don’t forget, we’re here for you. No matter what, we won’t let anything happen to you. And don’t feel burdened. In the future, I’ll refine even better elixirs for you—ones that will not only help your wounds recover quickly but also improve your strength to a certain extent. Don’t worry, we have a long road ahead of us."
Xiang Tian nodded heavily. If anyone else had said such things, he would have dismissed it as empty promises. But this was Wang Zhan speaking. He believed him unconditionally and also believed Wang Zhan had the ability to do it.
Since the wind and waves over the sea domain had subsided and the surroundings had returned to peace, they didn’t linger. After quickly getting everyone organized, they set off towards Flying Cloud City.
As for the people still on the sea domain, Wang Zhan didn’t concern himself with them. They had all been coerced by the two Priests; ultimately, they were just unfortunate souls. Such was the law of survival on the Star War Battlefield: if you lacked strength, you had no right to complain. Only by constantly enhancing one’s own abilities could one hope to change their circumstances.
After a journey of two days and two nights, the group finally left the sea domain’s region.
In what felt like the blink of an eye, they arrived back at Flying Cloud City.
Flying Cloud City had been very solemn for years and had never hosted so many people at once. For a moment, it was filled with a great deal more vitality.
For the following half-month, Wang Zhan did not leave Flying Cloud City. This wasn’t because he particularly enjoyed a leisurely life, but rather because Xiang Tian’s injuries hadn’t fully healed, and they all needed to rest and recuperate. Furthermore, Wang Zhan still needed to make arrangements for everyone, so he had no plans to depart quickly.
