Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes
Chapter 494: Ghost Essence
Lana nodded. "Yes."
The next second, a sinister grin spread across the creature’s distorted form.
"You humans... are truly foolish," it sneered. "Do you really think a mutated beast would give up its freedom for you?"
Its voice turned mocking.
"Foolish."
Without warning, it lunged forward, unleashing a sudden sneak attack.
But Lana had already expected it.
She moved instantly, blocking the attack. Still, her expression darkened slightly.
’So even that didn’t work...’
Her final attempt at negotiation had failed.
And now, there was no choice left but to fight to the end.
The battle lasted for the next two hours, and by the time it finally ended, the entire area around Lana looked as though it was on the verge of collapsing.
Even with all the equipment she had prepared beforehand, she still found herself struggling to keep up with that terrifying beast.
Even Mr. Crow, who usually maintained his composure no matter the situation, had been calling her repeatedly during the fight, clearly unable to remain calm.
At the very last moment, when her body had nearly reached its limit and her vision had started to blur, the jade bracelet suddenly released a warm stream of energy into her body.
The comforting warmth spread through her veins, instantly easing the stiffness in her muscles and giving her enough strength to launch one final attack.
Only then was Lana finally able to destroy the horrifying creature.
For several seconds, she simply stood there, breathing heavily as her chest rose and fell violently.
Her fingers trembled from exhaustion while her gaze remained fixed on the jade bracelet wrapped around her wrist.
Then, suddenly, her phone started ringing.
Lana frowned slightly in confusion before pulling out her phone. The moment she saw Lucian’s name displayed on the screen, surprise flashed through her tired eyes. She quickly answered the call.
From the other side, Lucian’s worried voice immediately rang out. "Are you okay?"
Lana blinked in confusion before replying, "Yes... I’m fine, but how did you know? I was just in the middle of a battle."
As she spoke, her eyes unconsciously drifted back toward the jade bracelet.
"Just now, the bracelet suddenly released a warm energy into my body. Was that your doing?"
Hearing her words, Lucian finally heaved a sigh of relief from the other side of the call. Although Lana could not see him, she could almost imagine him relaxing after confirming her safety.
"Yes," he admitted calmly. "That was me."
Lana’s expression immediately turned stunned.
"How did you even know I was in danger?"
Lucian remained silent for a moment before answering, "Whenever your life is threatened, the jade bracelet sends me a signal. Through it, I can transfer some of my energy directly to you."
Lana was completely taken aback.
The entire thing sounded unbelievably magical. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Her fingers lightly brushed against the bracelet as she stared at it in fascination.
After hesitating briefly, she suddenly asked, "Can this bracelet also induce dreams?"
The moment those words left her mouth, Lucian let out an awkward chuckle from the other side of the phone.
It sounded as though he wanted to say something, yet before he could respond, the signal abruptly cut off. Lana lowered the phone and sighed softly after noticing that the connection had disappeared.
’I guess I’ll ask him about it later.’
Still, her eyes could not leave the jade bracelet.
The more she looked at it, the more unbelievable it felt. ’
Earlier, when she attacked that ghost beast with the bracelet’s power supporting her, she had clearly become at least twice as strong as Axel’s own power.
It was now painfully obvious to her that Lucian’s strength far exceeded her imagination.
Lana bent down and picked up the black diamond shaped essence crystal from the ghost beast.
Even after storing it away quickly inside her storage talisman, her hands still felt slightly hot.
After dealing with that ghost beast, she originally wanted to continue searching the area to test her luck and see whether she could capture more ghosts.
Unfortunately, after wandering around for a long time beneath the dim and eerie atmosphere of the ghost zone, she found absolutely nothing.
In the end, she could only leave with disappointment written across her exhausted face.
Once she arrived near the entrance, she immediately spotted James and Gwen waiting anxiously for her.
The two of them had clearly been standing there for quite some time.
In fact, they had even moved closer toward the interior of the ghost zone, looking as though they were preparing to enter despite the danger.
Seeing their reckless behavior, Lana could not help rolling her eyes.
"You two really shouldn’t rush inside like that," she scolded while walking toward them. "Even if you’re worried, you still need to think before acting."
Hearing her words, both James and Gwen immediately relaxed after confirming that she was safe.
James quickly stepped forward, his face filled with concern.
"How are you? Are you hurt anywhere?"
Lana chuckled softly despite her exhaustion. "I’m fine."
However, her gaze soon shifted toward Gwen, who had lowered her head guiltily.
Lana paused for a moment before asking gently, "Are you okay?"
Gwen quickly nodded.
Seeing that she was fine, Lana then turned toward James and spoke in a quieter tone.
"I have something important to discuss with you later when we’re alone."
The moment Gwen heard that, a trace of resentment briefly flashed through her eyes, though she wisely remained silent.
Just as Lana was about to leave, Gwen suddenly remembered something and hurriedly spoke.
"There were two more travelers who entered the ghost zone with us earlier. They’re still inside."
Lana’s expression immediately turned calm. "They’re already dead."
Both James and Gwen stiffened in shock.
While hunting for shiki earlier, Lana had long since discovered the bodies of the two unfortunate travelers. Their life force had completely vanished by then, leaving no possibility of survival.
Without another word, Lana waved her hand lightly.
The next second, two corpses suddenly appeared from within her storage talisman.
The moment Gwen saw them, her eyes instantly reddened.
Although she did not personally know the deceased very well, seeing dead bodies appear so suddenly still left her shaken.
"Thank you..." Gwen whispered softly.
