Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence
Chapter 367 - 335: Hunting the Wind God Winged Dragon
However, the Power of the Hill Giants was terrifying, and one or two Javelins always managed to pierce the storm’s defenses and get through.
SQUELCH!
Blood splattered.
One Javelin plunged deep into the Wind God Winged Dragon’s right wing, while another grazed its abdomen, ripping away a huge patch of flesh.
A wave of agony hit it, and the Wind God Winged Dragon let out a painful screech.
The agony of the surprise attack, combined with the fury of being toyed with, completely unleashed its feral nature.
It let out a deafening roar and ignored Sun, instead unleashing the full Power of its Domain onto the hill below.
The howling gales formed an azure tornado that swept down upon the land.
Countless shards of rock and splintered trees were swept into the sky. It was a scene of utter devastation, as if the tornado intended to raze the entire hill to the ground.
Debris was effortlessly tossed about in the storm, creating a harsh, grating sound.
Yet, amidst this frenzy, a new Domain silently activated below.
The earth seemed to issue a low hum as an invisible, oppressive force enveloped the entire hill.
All the debris and wood swirling in the air, as if seized by an invisible hand, froze mid-flight. They lost all momentum and came clattering back to the ground.
Even the raging azure storm grew sluggish in the face of this immense force.
Kado stood with his feet planted firmly on the ground.
Gravity Domain!
With the storm contained, the Hill Giants had another opportunity to throw.
Kado’s massive, fan-like hand once again gripped a Javelin.
Meanwhile, seeing his chance, Sun opened his massive maw.
The golden Dragon Flame was no longer a tentative spray. It erupted like a flash flood, instantly engulfing the hundred-meter space before him.
A pincer attack from front and rear!
The Wind God Winged Dragon was in unprecedented peril. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
It let out a defiant roar, pushing its Wind God Domain to the limit.
But this time, the Domain didn’t expand outward. Instead, it rapidly contracted around the dragon’s body. In a single second, it formed an incredibly solid, hundred-meter-wide azure Shield, encasing the creature completely.
It was too late to evade.
The Wind God Winged Dragon chose to stand its ground and defend.
’What a perfect opportunity!’
A sharp glint flashed in the eyes of Raylo, who had been calmly observing the battle.
He drew the Divine Weapon, Broken Flow, from his hip.
Without hesitation, Raylo swung his sword through the air, slashing toward the azure storm Shield.
A near-translucent, rippling wave of Sword Qi shot from the blade, silently streaking across the sky.
The greatest characteristic of the Divine Weapon, Broken Flow, was its peerless sharpness, which gave it a natural advantage against all kinds of Energy Shields and Domain-based defenses.
The Wind God Winged Dragon’s choice to shrink its Domain and take the attack head-on played right into Raylo’s hands.
The seemingly insignificant wave of Sword Qi caused no great explosion upon contact with the azure storm Shield.
Like a hot knife through butter, it silently tore a gash several meters long in the Solid Shield.
The moment the gash appeared, the surging golden Dragon Flame found an outlet. Like a flood bursting through a broken dam, it poured in frantically, scorching the Wind God Winged Dragon’s body.
HISSSSSS!
The Wind God Winged Dragon let out an agonized wail. The air inside the Shield instantly ignited, and the stench of its own burning skin filled its senses.
Kado’s first volley of Javelins had been blocked by the storm Shield, achieving nothing. But now, seeing this development, a flicker of excitement lit up his eyes.
He grabbed two massive Javelins. Positioning his left hand forward and his right hand back, he assumed a surprisingly deft posture that seemed completely at odds with his enormous frame.
It was a technique he had learned from Ed.
During one training session, Kado had happened to see Ed practicing his Continuous Arrow technique. He would fire one arrow, and a second would follow so closely it was almost instantaneous.
The exquisite skill left the simple-minded Hill Giant staring, dumbfounded. He was immediately captivated and began pestering Ed to teach him.
Ed had been at a loss. Explaining concepts like "force application" and "rhythm control" to a Giant who could barely speak the common tongue was like playing a harp for a cow.
But Kado’s enthusiasm was infectious, so Ed had no choice but to spend half the day explaining with a flurry of words and wild gestures.
To everyone’s surprise, Kado, with his straightforward mind and astounding powers of mimicry, actually managed to adapt the Continuous Arrow technique to throwing Javelins.
Though far less refined than Ed’s technique, when combined with his terrifying Power, it was even more devastating.
"Go!"
Kado roared as the muscles in his arm bulged. The two massive Javelins left his hand at nearly the same instant, transforming into a pair of cold, streaking lights that shot precisely through the gash created by the Broken Flow Sword Qi!
SQUELCH!
SQUELCH!
Two dull thuds of metal sinking into flesh resounded across the battlefield.
One Javelin pierced straight through the Wind God Winged Dragon’s abdomen. The other, with perfect accuracy, slammed into the base of its enormous left wing!
SKREEEEE!
A dragon’s cry, shrill beyond measure and filled with unending agony, pierced the heavens.
The blow crippled one entire side of its body.
The storm Shield could no longer be maintained and was on the verge of collapse.
The Wind God Winged Dragon’s massive body lost its balance. Like a kite with a snapped string, it plummeted from the sky.
A cold, murderous intent flashed in Sun’s golden eyes.
With a beat of his Dragon Wings, Sun’s Sun Furnace Domain ceased its opposition and instead condensed into a true sun. Wielding an unstoppable might, he pressed down heavily upon the falling Wind God Winged Dragon!
BOOM!
It was as if the very heavens were collapsing.
Under the crushing pressure of Sun’s Domain Power, the Wind God Winged Dragon’s remaining Domain Power held for less than ten seconds before shattering like glass.
Sun’s colossal draconic body slammed down onto the Wind God Winged Dragon, pinning it firmly against the hillside.
His sharp talons dug into its flesh. No matter how it struggled, it couldn’t move him an inch.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Sun opened his massive jaws, filled with Sharp Teeth, and clamped down on the Wind God Winged Dragon’s slender neck.
CRACK!
The clean snap of bone was the final note of the hunt.
Scalding blood geysered out, staining the golden Dragon Scales and the Chaotic Stone Slope below a deep crimson.
The Wind God Winged Dragon was dead.
Sun slowly lifted his massive body from the Winged Dragon’s corpse. His golden Dragon Scales were splattered with hot Dragon Blood, adding a grim majesty to his form.
He shook his head, flinging away the shredded flesh left in his mouth. His golden eyes turned to Raylo on the slope, and he let out a low, rumbling roar, as if announcing his victory.
Raylo gave a slight nod in acknowledgment.
He didn’t rush forward. Instead, he began rummaging in the Spatial Bag at his waist. A moment later, he had pulled out stacks of enormous, folded leather barrels, creating a small mound.
"Kado."
"ROAR?"
Kado was still reveling in his victory, pounding his chest and showing off the two Javelins embedded in the Wind God Winged Dragon’s body. Hearing Raylo’s call, he turned his head in confusion.
Raylo pointed to the barrels on the ground, then to the massive wound on the Wind God Winged Dragon’s neck, which was still gushing blood.
"Go. Collect the blood. Don’t waste a single drop."
The Hill Giant might not be the brightest, but he always followed Raylo’s orders without question.
Kado scratched his head, seemingly understanding. He strode over and grabbed a barrel with one of his fan-like hands.
The other Hill Giants followed his lead. They each picked up one of the massive barrels and formed a line, heading toward the Wind God Winged Dragon’s corpse.
A dozen Giants, each over ten meters tall, carefully cradled the barrels. They surrounded the massive dragon corpse and aimed the barrel openings at the gushing wound.
The scalding Dragon Blood flowed like crimson lava, pouring into the barrels with incredible heat. It made a SIZZLING sound as clouds of white steam billowed upwards.
The Wind God Winged Dragon’s body was simply enormous, and the amount of Essence of Life it contained was far beyond anything they had imagined.
One after another, the massive barrels—each large enough to hold several grown men—were filled and carefully set aside.
Soon, dozens of barrels of blood lined the hillside, radiating incredible heat and a thick, potent aura of energy.
