Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle
Chapter 1165: The End of the Event and the Mysterious Elf’s Identity
With a roar that shook the defenders, the Dragonkin Elders fled with their wings beating furiously as they vanished into the clouds!
At this time, the Vampire Lords were already weakened and suppressed…
However, as soon as they saw what the Dragonkin Elders did, they immediately followed suit, retreating into the shadows!
There was no hesitation in their movements as they didn't want to die just yet!
After their disappearance, it didn't take long before the battlefield fell silent.
Corpses littered the ground, zombies dissolved after being looted, vampires reduced to ash, wyverns were broken as the fortress remained standing…
Its barrier was already long gone because of the intense assault but it didn't matter anymore. They had contained the damage.
The defenders had won!
***
Meanwhile, the spirit‑elf remained in his spot, high above the battlefield, floating in the air…
He had watched every moment, every clash, that had just occurred.
His expression was unreadable. However, his eyes seemed to be inspecting something. It was as if he were trying to understand why Shane was the one chosen by the Fairy Queen!
Still, he couldn't deny the fact that they did really well against the coalition of three forces.
"They're not that bad…" He whispered.
He could tell that these people hadn't reached the true Level Cap yet.
They were just missing something in order to be able to pass through Level 70 and for Shane, Level 80.
As for those who weren't able to complete their Level 50 Ascension Quest, they'd be stuck in Level 60 forever…
Well, Shane was at least special because of his current Level Cap, so he used this reason to understand the Fairy Queen's decision.
Just like that, as the defenders cheered, raising their weapons in triumph, the spirit‑elf vanished into the night, leaving only a faint shimmer of light in the sky…
***
Of course, the event hadn't ended yet, and because of that, the battlefield became quiet, as they all swiftly moved.
Hours passed, and though the event timer still ticked down, no new enemies arrived.
The defenders remained tense with their weapons in hand as they scanned horizon for any sign of movement.
The Trident Mechs were also quickly being repaired so they could be deployed immediately, while the Super Soldiers rested in their exosuits, also ready to spring into action if needed.
Shane walked among them as he used his Tokens to heal those who needed them.
Furthermore, he was able to give them various buffs if needed.
"Stay ready… We have a few hours left…" he reminded, though even he could feel the strange calm settling over the fortress.
Tris already leaned against the ramparts, as he was starting to relax.
"It's too quiet… but maybe that's the end." Mystra muttered. She and the elves kept their bows ready, unwilling to relax until the System itself confirmed victory.
Minutes stretched into hours as the tension never fully left, but slowly, relief began to seep in.
Survivors exchanged weary smiles, some even laughed softly, realizing that perhaps no more waves would come…
Then, at last, the familiar chime echoed across the world.
A sound every survivor recognized. It was the System Notification.
The defenders froze, then looked up as glowing text filled the air.
The event was over.
[ Congratulations! Cross‑Apocalypse Invasion Event Concludes! ]
[ Attention, Survivors! The global challenge has ended. The Cross‑Apocalypse Invasion Event is now officially complete. ]
[ Event Summary ]
[ For one full day, shelters across the world endured simultaneous assaults from three converging forces: the undead hordes, vampire legions, and dragon armies. Survivors faced escalating phases of combat:
Phase One: Mid‑tier zombie hordes combined with vampire thralls.
Phase Two: Mutated zombie elites supported by Vampire Lords and Wyvern packs.
Phase Three: Apocalypse bosses including Zombie Kings, Elder Vampires, and Draconic Beasts leading coordinated strikes.
Difficulty scaled according to shelter size and defenses. Larger shelters faced stronger bosses, mixed forces, and coordinated assaults. Despite overwhelming odds, shelters worldwide achieved incredible results with only 42% being destroyed! ]
The notification continued but Shane and many others paused.
"What the…"
The glowing text made them realized that something was off.
Other survivors read silently, and their cheers stopped as the numbers sank in.
42% destroyed.
Shane's eyes widened.
"Forty‑two percent… That's nearly half the shelters gone." His voice was low… This was a lot more dangerous than he thought!
Tris clenched his fists, disbelief etched across his face. "The System calls this incredible? That's devastation. Entire communities wiped out."
Tundra also frowned as he immediately checked the Clan Chat…
Thankfully, all the shelter under their Clan had survived. There were casualties and damages but thankfully, they had various barriers that saved them for several hours…
Natalie's expression hardened… "So many lives… even if the System frames it as success, it is a tragedy."
As she said this, she already confirmed that her shelters and her allies were fine… Well, they did an evacuation. Three of their shelters were abandoned, so it wasn't attacked.
Travis's situation was the same…
He also confirmed that the Drakeheart Vanguard's shelters were damaged but not gone… Three of his shelters had their Shelter Crystals almost destroyed, but despite that, the casualties were kept to a minimum.
Well, it was all thanks to their high vitality due to the dragon blood that they had obtained from him.
In any case, the notification continued…
[ Global Results ]

[ Invasion Points ]
[ Survivors earned Invasion Points through:

Points have been tallied globally. Rankings are finalized and shelters will receive rewards accordingly. ]
Shane gently nodded as he recalled the Invasion Points that the system introduced…
He wasn't sure how many points he got, but he knew for sure that it was a lot…
After all, based on the notification, there were only a handful of Flood Dragons that were mobilized in this event.
It wouldn't even be surprising if the other Flood Dragons targeted the Eclipse Domain, New Genesis, and the Springriver Manor, considering how powerful it was already.
In any case, he was sure that he'd see a good result.
Just like that, he read through the rest of the notifications…

[ End of Announcement ]
Shane finished reading the long stream of glowing text, as he processed everything…
Soon, he received his personal notifications about the rewards, invasion points, and hidden quests he completed…
However, his wristwatch flickered. A soft hum followed, and the familiar voice of his A.I. Cloud spoke.
"Cloud? What happened?" Shane asked, narrowing his eyes.
The voice responded calmly…
[ Report: During the final hours of the event, a powerful presence was detected. Essence signature closely resembles both Fairy and Elven Spirit attributes. The entity remained high above the battlefield, observing. Its mana resonance is unlike any known survivor or enemy.
Classification: Possible Legendary or Mythical Elf. ]
"Mythical Elf?"
[ Yes. The resonance was stable, non hostile, but highly focused on you, Shane. It departed after the battle concluded, leaving only residual mana traces. ]
"Is that so... Well, it's good that they're not hostile..." Shane muttered.
Then, he froze... He suddenly recalled some mysterious elves he had encountered before.
They had all shown their presence to him after every event that required teleportation...
"Admin?"
