Global Awakening: I'm the Only One Ready
Chapter 297. Traversing the Mountains and Rivers, Restless Undercurrents, Returning to the Eastern Sea
Gestating a god!
Lu Yuan could not help but narrow his eyes at those words. Before this, he had only found it strange and wondered why the world force was gathering of its own accord. But now, after Jiang Ningxian's words, many thoughts immediately came to mind.
World force was the foundation of evolution, much like the spiritual qi of heaven and earth described in certain mythological tales. Once it gathered to a sufficient degree, it would bring about tremendous changes, perhaps even a great fortune.
Or perhaps, because of that world force, it would nurture a life unlike any before.
However, Lu Yuan did not voice the thoughts in his heart.
He simply asked once more, "What makes you think so?"
"It's too obvious." Jiang Ningxian fell briefly into thought, then continued, "The world force does not gather for no reason, much less in such quantity. I once read in ancient books within my clan that when such a situation appears, it is most suited to gestate a god."
That was what she knew, which was why she had said those words earlier. Unfortunately, it was still only a conjecture.
Even with the strength the two of them possessed now, they could only see the surface of Mount Tai's changes for the time being. As for what was going on deeper, they had no way of knowing.
Lu Yuan drew in a deep breath, then turned to the Golden-Winged Great Peng and the Spirit Monkey beside him.
"From this moment onward, if there are any major changes in Mount Tai, report them to me immediately. Remember; no delays."
Now that he knew this information, he naturally took it very seriously. What if it was truly as she had said and that Mount Tai really was gestating a god?
In his previous life, he had known that Mount Tai had undergone changes, but not the reason behind them. Neither had he possessed the qualifications to investigate. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
But now, Lu Yuan had the strength and authority to do so.
His thoughts were simple. Whatever Mount Tai's changes might mean for this world, whether good or bad, he had to know about them in time.
"Yes, Master." The Golden-Winged Great Peng nodded, and the Spirit Monkey beside it did the same.
When they had no other matters to attend to, they remained on Mount Tai most of the time. So if any new developments arose, they would naturally be able to detect them.
Seeing this, Jiang Ningxian said nothing more. She knew that under the present circumstances, uncovering the true cause of the changes was obviously impossible. As such, there was no point in staying any longer.
At once, she and Lu Yuan left Jade Emperor Peak together.
As they left, the stretch of celestial palace ruins was still giving off threads of radiant light, just as it had during the first Global Awakening.
Very soon, the two of them arrived at the foot of the mountain.
"I can tell that all the great clans and races of the various starfields are now restless beyond Earth. They are all waiting for the final moment to descend."
Jiang Ningxian looked at Lu Yuan and continued, "Perhaps they have already sent some people down to adapt to this world. And once the next Awakening arrives, I doubt those people will continue holding back."
The meaning behind her words was clear. The reason they had not acted before was because they had always been suppressed, and because Lu Yuan himself was indeed strong enough.
But now, more and more people were descending, and these people were getting stronger and stronger.
Their apprehensions were diminishing. The moment the right time arrived, they would avenge all previous grudges at once.
"I know. Don't worry. I'll keep watch." Lu Yuan nodded; he knew this was her way of showing concern.
After that, Jiang Ningxian said no more and directly returned to her residence.
It seemed that aside from the cooperative relationship they had spoken of before, there was also something else going on between them—something difficult to name, difficult to explain.
Lu Yuan had in fact sensed that long ago, but he didn't bring it up. Shaking his head, he stopped dwelling on it and turned to leave. However, he did not return to his quarters to continue cultivating in seclusion. Instead, he went to meet Elder Ji and Elder Yun.
He informed them that he was about to leave for some time. The changes in Mount Tai stirred many thoughts in Lu Yuan, and so he wanted to take a look at the other famous mountains and great rivers to see what abnormalities they might hold.
This was something only he could do. A great number of powerful Outer Cosmos beings had already descended while the Celestial Court was still steadily accumulating strength. If the Celestial Court encountered certain figures, they would surely be unable to deal with them.
However, Lu Yuan had no one he needed to fear.
So, over the next few weeks, he left Mount Tai and headed toward the various famous mountains and rivers.
His first stop was Kongtong Mountains, the site of Guang Chengzi's Dao ground. This place was much the same as before. The folded space there—the Mythical Secret Realm—still existed. But unlike before, the secret realm was now closed, and outsiders could no longer enter.
Lu Yuan observed the area for a while. It seemed that even more folded spaces were manifesting in the mountains. But it was impossible for him to know what lay within as this involved the laws of space. Even as a Sage, there was nothing he could do.
But he was certain of one thing: Kongtong Mountains were changing and the changes were more significant than before, and causing more disturbances.
Could it be related to Immortal Guang Chengzi?
Lu Yuan considered the thought briefly. But in the end, he could not arrive at any answer, and so he left once again.
Since he was investigating, he naturally could not remain in one place the whole time. The more places he visited, the more information he might gather.
His next destination was Ancient Mount Shu. Of course, that was only possible because Lu Yuan had now reached the Sage Realm and could tear through the void.
If he were still in the Venerable King Realm, with Earth in its current state, there was no telling how long he would take to travel such distances.
Over the past several years, Ancient Mount Shu had always remained under the control of the authorities, though by now it had already been incorporated into the Celestial Court's territory.
Those with a measure of talent from the Aurora Academy branches or the Mount Tai Trials Academy would come here in an attempt to comprehend powerful inheritances and legacies. Only that up to now, Lu Yuan had been the only one to have reached the summit.
Of course, Lu Yuan didn't come all the way here to reminisce about the past.
After a quick observation, he found that Mount Shu was more or less the same as the Kongtong Mountains. Folded spaces were beginning to appear one after another, but what lay within them remained impossible to observe for the moment.
He found it normal since this was just the starting of the Third Awakening. Even if there were traces of changes, they would not manifest completely at once. In layman terms, this wave of changes was equivalent to pushing Earth directly into the true mythological age.
Seeing that there were no discoveries to be made, Lu Yuan once again left Ancient Mount Shu.
His next destination was not some famous mountain or great river. It was the Eastern Sea Dragon Palace.
That, too, had once been a folded space within the sea, one that had manifested because of the Awakening. It also held many secrets. It was just that most of the things within had already been stripped clean by Lu Yuan and the others. Even the second Celestial Emperor's Ancient Token had been obtained there back then.
Lu Yuan had come here because he hoped to obtain more information. After all, he had already visited several places and gained nothing. Perhaps there would be something to find here, within the sea.
Compared to before, the Eastern Sea had changed greatly as well. The most significant change was the appearance of many more islands. On top of that, the breadth and depth of this stretch of sea had both grown to several times what they had once been. Even the number of mutated beasts had surpassed those on land by an unknown degree.
Fortunately, Lu Yuan had reached an agreement with the beast kings back then. Else, these mutated sea beasts would undoubtedly have surged onto land and caused enormous casualties among the people.
Lu Yuan had returned ten years back with the memories of his previous life. He knew everything, and he had prevented all of it.
When he arrived at the Eastern Sea once more, the surroundings were completely quiet. At the same time, a familiar figure came into view.
