Chapter 386. Two Great Starfields, Final Preparations

Jiang Ningxian didn't mince words. Openly and without any hesitation, she admitted that the Jiang Clan, and by extension the Desolate Flame Starfield, were no match for those two starfields.

Lu Yuan was surprised by her admission. After all, her clan was full of descendants of a Human Sovereign and the Celestial Emperor. Their foundations were terrifying to say the least. Across the universe and over many years, how many Human Sovereigns and Celestial Emperors had there been?

Those titles were synonymous with invincibility, yet even a descendant of such beings had decisively admitted that they fell short compared to those two starfields. Clearly, those two starfields were formidable in the truest sense of the word.

"I've heard of the Sukhāvatī Starfield," Lu Yuan said. "It's a gathering place for Buddhist disciples. Regardless of whether they're human, anyone who takes refuge in the Buddha can be there. However, I've never heard of the Sky Dragon Starfield before. What is it?"

He genuinely did not know. In fact, he had never heard of that starfield, even in his previous life. He had no idea why it was so powerful.

"I've read about the Sky Dragon Starfield in the historical records kept by my clan," Jiang Ningxian explained, holding nothing back. "It's a starfield founded by true dragons. Anyone from a beast race may enter. Phoenixes, qilins, pengs, and other divine beasts all reside within the Sky Dragon Starfield.

"After countless years of constant development, the number of beings on the same level as a Domain Lord in that starfield is no fewer than ten. Their top echelons are truly terrifying, but even those who are only average are virtually unmatched in any other starfields.

"At least, our Desolate Flame Starfield can't compare to them."

Jiang Ningxian let out a sigh. In that regard, her clan truly did fall short, regardless of whether they were compared to the Sky Dragon Starfield or the Sukhāvatī Starfield.

Lu Yuan nodded in understanding. Unlike other starfields, neither the Sky Dragon Starfield nor the Sukhāvatī Starfield consisted of a single clan or race. They absorbed all manner of races and clans.

Coupled with the fact that both starfields were founded by beings of unimaginable origins, their deep foundations and overwhelming strength made perfect sense.

The Sky Dragon Starfield, as an example, had phoenixes, qilins, and countless other powerful mutated beasts in addition to their true dragons. Nearly all of them had Mythical bloodlines. As long as they remained alive, reaching the Sage Realm for them was not difficult at all.

Reaching the Immortal Realm was even easier for them than it was for humans. Among all living things across the universe, beasts had always been naturally gifted when it came to evolution.

Moreover, if virtually every beast with a bloodline considered powerful even across the universe ended up in the Sky Dragon Starfield, the result would be terrifying beyond imagination. A starfield like that could absolutely be considered the strongest in the universe.

The Sukhāvatī Starfield operated on the same principle. Any Buddhist was considered a disciple, and the power of faith had always been formidable. The fact that even the Eternal Starfield had suffered at their hands was enough proof of their power.

Hearing all of this from Jiang Ningxian gave Lu Yuan a far deeper understanding of the universe. Of course, the reason he wanted to know these things was to prepare for what was to come—the invasion of the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons.

They were the true enemy; they were threats that would endanger the entire universe. There would be no intact eggs under an overturned nest, so Lu Yuan had to be prepared for their arrival. Otherwise, it would be too late for him to start his preparations once they were already here.

Upon their arrival, every living being in the universe would face tragedy.

Hence, Lu Yuan's plan was straightforward. While dealing with his enemies and growing even stronger, he needed to find a way to rally the entire universe. Only then would there be any hope of holding the line against the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons.

There was no alternative. He did not even know what kind of enemy they truly were, and the less he knew, the less he could afford to be careless.

It was the same principle behind the reason he formed the Celestial Court to defend against the beings from the Outer Cosmos. Only with enough preparation could one face anything without fear.

All of it depended on his strength growing ever stronger. He believed the Immortal Realm was not his limit. Instead, it was probably just the beginning. Of course, all of that could wait until after he was done dealing with those two Holy Sons.

"I think they'll be here a month later or sooner, and their 'avatars' will be powerful enough that only an Immortal can deal with them," Jiang Ningxian said solemnly. "Their talent and power are exceptional. They're the strongest out there, and even I could not say that I'd win for certain if I were at the same stage as them."

Clearly, Jiang Ningxian was still deeply worried about those two Holy Sons. They were extraordinary and could not be underestimated. She knew Lu Yuan was strong, and she had no doubt that even against Holy Sons, he would prevail.

However, a full major stage separated them from each other. Even though Lu Yuan now stood at the apex of the Great Sage Realm and was only a single step from the Immortal Realm, the chasm between Immortals and Sages mattered more than anyone would think.

Lu Yuan remained as unfazed as ever, even after hearing that. His answer was the same as before. He intended to use this very opportunity to make a breakthrough into the Immortal Realm.

"Since you've already made up your mind, I'm just going to stay silent. Just be careful out there," Jiang Ningxian said, letting the matter rest. She knew that he had long made up his mind. If Lu Yuan could truly reach the Immortal Realm through the upcoming battle, it would be great.

After all, even Rankers with extraordinary talent needed a lot of time to cross that chasm. Lu Yuan had already reached the apex of the Great Sage Realm, and he genuinely needed to take that next step if he wanted to grow even stronger.

Jiang Ningxian knew that he had to keep growing stronger, or the road ahead would only grow more difficult to traverse.

The Great Age had just begun, after all. The two of them spoke for a while longer before parting ways. Lu Yuan returned to his quarters and entered seclusion once more.

This seclusion session was different than usual. His goal was to acclimatize to the changes happening inside him. He had a feeling that if he could digest and acclimatize to those changes, the boost to his power and everything else would exceed all of his expectations.

He was not entirely sure what would happen, but he knew that the Celestial Emperor's Ancient Token was always helpful to him. Beyond that, he needed to organize his recent gains. It would not do much for his strength, but if one were to learn of oneself and one's enemies, one would need not fear a hundred battles.

Knowing himself and knowing how to bring himself to his peak condition would give him absolute confidence when it was time to face his enemies.
