Global Awakening: Infinite Gift Pack System
Chapter 315: The Negotiation and the Requirements
Inside Codebreakers Shelter, Grim was escorted through the camp until he reached Kai’s tent. The place was still filled with many field tents, with survivors rebuilding steadily...
Everyone seemed busy as they worked together in order to make this place better.
Still, Grim was unsure how they planned to hide from the A.I. Army. After all, unlike their base, they had the trees or the canopy protecting them from drones or surveilling the area.
At this point, he had no idea about the disruptors allowing them to jam the drones scanning their area.
Nonetheless, as soon as he entered one of the field tents, he saw two beautiful women standing beside the leader like escorts. Their presence was definitely a show of his authority...
Still, the fact that he could have beautiful women made him a little jealous.
"Kai... He’s the leader of those mutants we chased away..." One of the guards escorting him said.
"Right... They really swept so many of our traps. That’s a lot of resources, Kai. We can’t just let him off."
"Hey... Just let Kai decide about his matter."
Another guard said as they gestured for Grim to enter.
Still, as soon as Grim heard their conversation, he was shocked.
’Kai... Kai... Right... Is this guy the Rank 1 Survivor?’ Grim repeated in his mind as he heard the others address him with such a name!
It was at this point that he realized that they were dealing with the first-ever Guild that was established, the Codebreakers Guild!
Grim bowed slightly, then placed his bag on the table.
With deliberate care, he revealed the twelve black cubes... "These Gene Weapons... I come in peace," he said firmly. "These are yours. All of them. Let this be the foundation of our truce."
Kai studied the cubes, his expression unreadable.
He didn’t expect to receive this offering for peace...
"Impressive," he admitted, "but not enough."
Grim’s brows furrowed. "Not enough? These are Gene Weapons... They are precious resources. We could’ve traded it for plenty of food..."
Kai smiled as he realized that they had a food problem. Well, it was quite normal for others who don’t have Talents or Skills that could help with food production.
"Ahem... I want more. Maybe the serums you use... the ones that transform your people into mutants. Give me those."
Grim stiffened, shocked by this request.
"You don’t understand. Those serums are limited and dangerous. They warp the body, strip away humanity if you consume too much. If you misuse them, you’ll destroy yourselves."
Kai’s gaze remained steady. He had already decided this.
"We’ll take that risk. If you want peace, you’ll provide them..."
Silence hung for some time... Grim exhaled slowly, then nodded.
"Fine. I will provide them. But know this... once they’re gone, they’re gone. Even we can’t replenish them."
He had to make Kai aware that they couldn’t produce more of these serums. Well, Grim thought that Kai might request additional serums, so it was better to make it clear this early.
Kai’s tone softened slightly, shifting the negotiation... "Then one more thing..."
"Another?" Grim repeated.
"Of course... But this time, I’ll make it worthwhile. You see... the forest where your base stands, its wood is sturdy, stronger than anything we’ve found so far. If you provide timber, I’ll trade food in return. Your people won’t starve."
Grim considered this carefully.
Food was their greatest weakness. The offer was tempting, even if it meant exposing their resources.
Furthermore, there were hundreds of hectares in that forest, providing timber shouldn’t be a huge problem.
Finally, he agreed. "Wood for food. Serums for our peace... and the Gene Weapons as a gesture of trust. Is that how it is?"
Kai was satisfied with this interpretation from Grim. "Then we have an understanding."
Grim nodded, suddenly realized something... It seemed that this wasn’t just a peace negotiation... it was the beginning of a dangerous alliance, one that could reshape both shelters.

After the negotiations were finalized, Kai and Grim discussed the practical details and shook hands.
The timber would be transported in batches, carried by the Superhuman Guild’s mutated laborers, while Codebreakers Shelter would provide food in exchange. To avoid misunderstandings, Kai insisted that all communication be done through their radios, establishing a secure channel between the two shelters.
With the matter settled, Kai leaned back in his chair.
"You’ve done well to come here alone. If you wish, you can stay in the shelter tonight. Rest, eat, and see how we live."
Grim shook his head, his long robe shifting as he stood.
"I appreciate the offer, but I cannot. My people need food quickly, and the timber trade must begin at once. I’ll return when the first shipment is ready."
Kai studied him for a moment, then gestured to one of his guards.
Soon, a box of canned goods was brought forward... It was heavy, packed with enough supplies to sustain Grim’s guild for several days.
"Take this with you. Consider it a gesture of goodwill."
"This... No... This is an advance payment. We’ll immediately get to work." Grim then accepted the box without hesitation.
His physique was extraordinary, refined by countless enhancements, and he lifted the weight as if it were nothing.
With a nod of respect, he turned and left the tent, storing the box securely before stepping back onto his hoverboard.
As he glided away into the misty forest, Kai watched from the shelter gates.
The alliance had begun, but he knew it was fragile.
Grim’s guild was desperate, and the trade of timber and serums would bind them together... for now.
Yet Kai’s mind was already racing ahead, calculating how this partnership could be used, and how long it would last before one side decided to test the other.
***
Soon, Kai stood at the edge of the shelter walls, watching as Codebreakers Shelter grew stronger...
Survivors worked tirelessly, erecting sturdier defenses, reinforcing the perimeter, and even laying out escape routes in case the A.I. Army or rival guilds ever breached their lines.
Kai himself oversaw the arrangement of these escape paths, ensuring that every member, every fighter, and every machine had a fallback plan.
It was meticulous work, but he knew survival depended on preparation.
That night, after the long day of planning and directing, Kai returned to his tent.
The camp outside buzzed with activity, but inside, silence greeted him.
He sat down, exhaled, and opened the glowing interface of the System.
"Let’s see..."
Notifications appeared before his eyes...
He had reached the full experience points required for Level 39, yet the System had halted his progress.
No serums or A.I. machine elimination could push him to the next level.
Well, the barrier to Level 40 wasn’t just to obtain more experience points.
Apparently, there was a requirement to break through it, and it wasn’t easy.
[ Current Level: 39 (Max Experience Reached) ]
[ Breakthrough Requirement: To advance beyond Level 39, the Survivor must complete a special quest. ]
[ Quest: Forge Your Legacy ]
Requirement 1: Strengthen your foundation further. Possess at least 8 Gene Skills upgraded to Level 7. (Progress: 5/8)
Requirement 2: Possess at least 5 Fused Gene Skills created through Skill Fusion. (Progress: 4/5)
Requirement 3: Consume a Soul Enhancement Serum to unlock higher compatibility with advanced systems. (Progress: 0/1)
[ Reward: Evolutionary Ascension ]
Unlock Veteran Physique Evolution: advanced stat growth, resilience against environmental hazards, and compatibility with higher‑tier Gene Skills and Zodiac Enhancement.
Title upgrade: Expert Survivor to Veteran of Humanity.
[ Warning: Survivor will remain capped at Level 39 until all requirements are fulfilled. Prolonged stagnation will not affect future advancement. ]
Kai’s eyes narrowed as he read the list.
It was far harsher than the breakthrough at Level 30, where he had only needed 5 Gene Skills at Level 5, 10 B‑Grade Energy Cores, and 3 Gene Weapons bound.
Now, the System’s demands had escalated: mastery of Level 7 skills, A‑Grade cores, more Gene Weapons, fused skills, and even the consumption of an unknown Soul Enhancement Serum.
He leaned back, exhaling slowly.
He clenched his fists.
The requirements weren’t just about strength... they were about transformation. Fused skills meant refining his arsenal into something greater, while the Soul Enhancement Serum hinted at a dangerous evolution of body and spirit.
Kai closed the interface, his resolve hardening. "Level 40... I’ll reach it. Even if I have to tear the world apart to find what I need."
Soon, planned to finish one of the requirements by using the Skill Fusion Crystals in his possession...
It shouldn’t be a problem to attempt several fusions to push his arsenal closer to the breakthrough requirements.
His thoughts raced through combinations... Solid Balance with Meditation or maybe Blood Regeneration and Bio-Adaptive Constitution.
Perhaps, Fast Appraisal and Meditation would even give him a better result.
Still, before committing, he opened the Guild Chat as he recalled something...
As expected, a new message blinked from Farrah, stationed in Cameron City to protect their shop.
[ Farrah: You have to return quickly... Our resources are being depleted. We got some huge clients. ]
Kai’s eyes widened as he knew that he had left resources to last for a couple of months there.
There must be something big going on.
With this in mind, he immediately replied.
[ Kai: I’m coming... ]
