Global Deities: Rising as Wood Elves' God
Chapter 111 - 110: True Body Descent, a Demigod Force
You have to understand, a True Body Descent is completely different from a Descent of the Divine Soul or a Saint’s Descent!
A Descent of the Divine Soul refers to a Divine Being sending down a wisp of their Divine Soul to possess an object, or perhaps a member of their Clan. However, if the possessed object or Clan member is killed, the Divine Being themselves will also suffer a backlash. The severity of this backlash depends entirely on how much of their Divine Soul the Divine Being invested.
A Saint’s Descent, on the other hand, is what Zhang Yi did during his last Divine Realm expedition when he descended into his Elf High Priest, Shamiel.
Typically, when Zhang Yi possesses the body of Elf High Priest Shamiel, he can perceive everything that happens from the Holy Believer’s perspective, staying fully aware of the situation. If the Holy Believer finds themselves in grave danger, the Saint’s Descent allows the Divine Being to help them, unleashing Power far beyond their normal capabilities! However, after the event, a Saint’s Descent can cause great harm to the Clan member’s body, even resulting in irreversible damage.
After all, compared to the immense Power a Divine Being wields during a Saint’s Descent, the Clan member’s body is like an earthenware jar filled with water. If you suddenly try to stuff that same jar full of hard stones, it’s bound to shatter. The principle is the same for a Saint’s Descent.
Finally, there was the one thing that made the entire top-ranked class gasp, the issue everyone was focused on: the death quota for True Body Descent!
A True Body Descent refers to a connection forged through faith between a Clan and their Divine Being. The Clan extends an invitation, and once the Divine Being accepts it and expends the necessary Faith Value, their physical body from the Main World will descend into the plane where their Clan is located. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
You must understand, the bodies of Demigods like them are constantly suppressed by the Blue Star Will in the Main World, which is why they appear almost no different from ordinary people. In reality, it is only when their true bodies descend into other planes or demi-planes that the full extent of a Demigod’s power is truly revealed! Shattering mountains with a finger, overturning mountains and seas—all of it is possible.
In fact, it is because of this constant suppression by the Blue Star Will that many Divine Beings are unwilling to return to Blue Star after becoming powerful. It’s like a person who is dozens of meters tall being forced to live cooped up in a two-meter-tall body. That suffocating feeling of restraint... not every Divine Being can get used to it again after growing powerful.
Compared to the first two methods of descent, the True Body Descent is by far the most powerful, but also the most dangerous. If one’s true body descends into an unknown plane and dies, there is no coming back!
In the history of the Blue Star Federation, there have been many cases where Divine Beings sent their Clans to wage war in other Crystal Wall Systems. Their Clan members were then captured, and the enemy would disguise themselves as the captured Clan, praying and weaving a web of lies to lure their True God into performing a True Body Descent. In the beginning, this deceptive tactic was employed quite frequently, with a rather high success rate.
Many True Gods from the Blue Star Federation fell for it, only to be ganged up on and killed by the native Divine Beings of that Crystal Wall System after descending. As for the final result, it was all too obvious. Such incidents were common during the First Epoch. Many Divine Beings from the Blue Star Federation fell victim to such deception.
Afterward, the Blue Star Federation introduced two solutions. The first was to improve the channel through which Clans communicate with Divine Beings for a True Body Descent. This gives the Divine Beings the ability to first scout the surrounding environment through that channel before descending. If the enemy’s disguise is merely a crude one, a Divine Being from the Blue Star Federation would likely spot the flaws and avoid the True Body Descent.
The second method was to vigorously promote the Blue Star Federation’s Anti-Fraud App. This app warns Divine Beings from the Federation about various situations and how to avoid being deceived.
But this time, the school had actually authorized True Body Descents for its students and even approved a death quota. This meant the school was fully prepared for the possibility that some students might be sacrificed in the other plane during this final exam.
You might ask, "Can’t students just avoid using True Body Descent and stick to Descent of the Divine Soul or Saint’s Descent?" The logic holds, but what if that plane contains some exceptionally precious treasures that can only be acquired with the power of a True Body Descent? What then?
You have to understand, the venues chosen for the final exams are different from those used for the monthly tests. The venues for the monthly tests are inspected by the school time and time again to ensure they are free of danger before being used. But for the final exams, as long as the general background of a plane or continent meets the requirements and the power of its strongest inhabitant does not exceed the stipulated threshold, it will be used directly as a venue.
During the final exam, supervisors from the school faculty and the military will be present. They will prevent any overt, life-or-death battles between the student examinees. But if it is just a conflict between their Clans, the school and the military will not intervene.
Of course, if a student encounters danger, the school and the military will step in promptly. However, a death can occur if a student performs a True Body Descent and dies too suddenly for aid to arrive in time. That is what the death quota is for, so students don’t need to be overly worried.
After understanding the specifics of the situation, the students of the top-ranked class all calmed down. As mentioned before, the method to ensure the death quota didn’t apply to them was simple: just avoid using True Body Descent.
For this reason, the locations of all high school final exams are kept strictly confidential. Even students who have actually participated in a final exam must sign a non-disclosure agreement, promising not to reveal the exam’s process or location. This was because during the chaotic era at the cusp of the First and Second Epochs, many Divine Beings from other Crystal Wall Systems invaded Blue Star’s Crystal Wall System to assassinate promising student prospects. This led to the subsequent regulations.
But as long as students don’t let greed cloud their judgment and avoid True Body Descent, the death count can be kept at zero.
"Since you have no more questions about the death quota, your next step is to sign a liability waiver and a consent agreement.
"After signing these two documents, you can enter the Divine Domain Connection Pods provided by the school. You can then enter your own Divine Realms ahead of time to notify your Clans and have them prepare.
"When the exam begins, you will receive a notification. At that time, a Teleportation Gate will open, connecting your Divine Realm to the Small Magic Plane where the exam is taking place!
"The rules for this exam, how to achieve a high score, and all relevant intelligence on this Small Magic Plane will be sent to you after you log into the Divine Domain Connection Pods!"
When the homeroom teacher finished speaking, his eyes swept across the class. Not a single student showed a trace of cowardice or fear.
The homeroom teacher nodded and said, "I’m very pleased. Not a single student in our top-ranked class has chosen to give up! I now declare: all students are to enter the Divine Domain Connection Pods. The exam is about to begin!"
The moment the homeroom teacher’s voice fell, the other students in the class lined up, filed out of the classroom, and headed for the location of the Divine Domain Connection Pods to log in.
