Elf High Priest Shamiel, whose body was possessed by Zhang Yi, also sensed a slight tremor from the Divine Soul of the Great God of Nature that resided within her.

Although there was a lock on the Black Iron Treasure Chest, it didn’t offer much protection.

The Wood Elf Warrior who had brought the chest over simply broke the lock with his long spear.

When the Black Iron Treasure Chest was opened, a shimmering green orb of light appeared before them.

All the Elves nearby, whether Wood Elf or Fire Elf, felt a sliver of desire originating from their very souls.

Unfortunately, the Divine Soul of the Great God of Nature was possessing Elf High Priest Shamiel, so none of them dared to step forward and offend the Great God of Nature.

As for Zhang Yi, he spent some Faith Value to identify the Talent Crystal inside the Black Iron Treasure Chest. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

[Talent Crystal - Growth (0.01%)]: A Lower Class Law of the Life Law. After refinement, it allows the user to absorb surrounding Life Energy and accelerate the growth of a designated plant.

After learning that his first Talent Crystal was for Growth,

Zhang Yi’s expression showed neither joy nor disappointment.

Although the Growth Talent Crystal was related to his Main Divine Position of Nature,

it wasn’t a significant component of that Divine Position.

The most crucial point was that this Lower Class Law of Life—Growth—from the Black Iron Treasure Chest was only 0.01% complete.

In other words, Zhang Yi would have to find at least 100 more Black Iron Treasure Chests of this type,

and he would have to pray that they all contained the same Law, just to complete a mere 1% of the Growth Law.

At this rate,

it would be nearly impossible to complete even a single Lower Class Law during this exam.

He couldn’t even complete a thousandth of it!

’No wonder the reward for this mock exam is Talent Crystals,’ he thought.

’Most likely, even if you combined all the Talent Crystals obtained by every student from the entire school on this continent,’

’you’d only be able to complete one or two Lower Class Laws!’

But this didn’t mean Zhang Yi would give up on searching for Treasure Chests; after all, this kind of resource was very precious.

One typically couldn’t even come into contact with such resources before becoming a True God.

However, Zhang Yi’s focus would no longer be on low-level Treasure Chests.

It wasn’t that he would stop looking for low-level chests, but rather that he would be more patient, selective, and deliberate in his search.

He needed to analyze each situation individually—to search with precision, efficiency, and a systematic approach.

Since the percentage of a Law contained within a Talent Crystal from a Black Iron-quality chest was so small,

he figured he might as well seek out higher-quality, high-level Treasure Chests.

And according to the hint his homeroom teacher gave before the exam, the higher the quality of the Treasure Chest, the more dangerous the location where it was hidden.

Yet, they only had three days on this continent.

Students who would normally take their time searching were forced to speed up.

In fact, this was also the school’s way of testing the students’ ability to make trade-offs.

But for Zhang Yi,

it was a good thing he had thought to bring the Elf Mage Corps!

In addition to their specialized Elf Mage equipment, which reduced Magic Power expenditure,

each Elf Mage also carried nearly five palm-sized Magic Crystals.

All of this allowed these Elf Mages to recover their Magic Power at the fastest possible rate and fight prolonged battles.

And Magic Attacks not only dealt physical damage but also inflicted even greater Magic Damage!

This allowed Zhang Yi, compared to the other examinees whose Clans couldn’t yet use Magic, to deal with threatening Clans much faster and more efficiently,

and suffer fewer losses!

Meanwhile, Elf Legion Commander Feiyana made a simple deduction based on the information provided by the Great God of Nature.

She concluded that when they discovered another Clan, they could gauge the threat it posed by the level of the Treasure Chest it guarded.

Take this small Goblin Tribe, for example.

Even though there was a Goblin Warrior among the three hundred goblins,

as long as the Elf Corps was careful,

only a third of their total forces would be needed to flatten the small Goblin Tribe.

In other words, for enemies guarding a Black Iron Treasure Chest,

the entire expeditionary force could be split into three groups to operate on three fronts at once.

But they still didn’t know how many troops would be needed to deal with the enemies guarding a higher-level Silver Treasure Chest.

That required a practical test.

Under Elf Legion Commander Feiyana’s command, the Fire Elf Warriors were first dispatched to eliminate the giant troll family on the other side of the forest.

They brought back another Black Iron Treasure Chest.

Opening it, they found:

[Talent Crystal - Rainfall (0.01%)]: A Lower Class Law of the Superior Water Law. After refinement, it allows the user to gather Water Elements and create rain!

Although it was another Talent Crystal,

it was of little help in increasing Zhang Yi’s combat effectiveness.

However, Zhang Yi also noticed that the Talent Crystals from the two Black Iron Treasure Chests he’d found didn’t seem to be directly related to combat.

’Are all the Talent Crystals from Black Iron Treasure Chests this lackluster?’ Zhang Yi thought.

As for whether this was just speculation or a fact, that would require more data to verify.

"We cannot suffer a threat on our own doorstep."

Only after dealing with the two small tribes in the forest could Elf Legion Commander Feiyana allow the logistics unit to enter and begin constructing their camp for the next three days.

Although they needed to test the threat posed by the various clans guarding different levels of Treasure Chests,

they had a better solution for the Poison-frogman tribe living in the Poisonous Gas Swamp,

thanks to a suggestion from the Great God of Nature.

The Elf Mage Corps stepped forward, arranging themselves in three rows.

The front row had only five Wood Elf Mages.

The middle row had twenty-five Elf Mages,

and the rear row had twenty Elf Mages.

The five Wood Elf Mages in the front row first cast the First Level Spell, Magic Insight.

Aided by the First Level Spell Magic Insight,

the five Elf Mages in the front row gained the ability to "see" the flow of various Elements.

Then, while they could see the flow of the Elements, they cast another First Level Spell: Magic Mark.

They placed their Magic Marks in the most chaotic areas where the Fire, Poison, and other Elements converged,

guaranteeing an explosion on contact.

The five Elves in the first row continued until they had consumed one-fifth of their Magic Power.

At this point, the Poison-frogman tribe still hadn’t noticed anything unusual.

After casting their spells, the five Elf Mages from the first row merged into the second row.

The Fire Elf Mages in the third row began to cast their most practiced spell: Fireball Technique!

Moreover, it wasn’t the regular version of the Fireball Technique, but its ultimate, limit-break version!

The Fire Elf Mages cast their signature Fireball Technique, continuously pouring their Magic Power into the burgeoning spheres of flame.

The fireballs grew larger and larger,

until the Fire Elf Mages felt they were about to lose control, at which point they hurled the fireballs toward the Poison-frogman tribe in the Poisonous Gas Swamp.

As for the fireballs’ final destination,

it was, of course, the exact locations targeted by the Magic Marks cast by the five Wood Elf Mages from the front row!
