Global Game: Developing a Knight Clan
Chapter 381 - 44: The Twin Gods’ Allegiance, Early Imperial Reform
"Evelynia. Beckett. Greetings to you all."
The God of Destiny, the Twin Gods, suddenly spoke.
A male and female voice blended together, creating a strangely divine sensation.
Their appearance was also quite peculiar.
The two Deities were joined, each possessing half of a single Divine Body.
The sister’s half had silver hair that cascaded like a river of stars, while the brother’s half had golden hair that flowed like molten gold.
The sister wore a translucent dress of star-sand, and the brother was clad in Dark Gold Scale Armor.
Their free left and right hands respectively held a Crystal Staff and a Flaming Giant Sword.
A Sun and Moon Light Wheel interlaced behind them. Manifesting like that in the dark Star Sea, their image truly had the unique aesthetic befitting Deities.
As they spoke, their bodies slowly separated.
And so, under the gazes of the other Deities and Lince, two Main God Level Deities manifested.
"Deities from that weakling Square World?"
Kukudar murmured in a daze.
"Indeed, Your Excellency. While you were slumbering, you caused no small amount of trouble for our world."
The brother of the Twin Gods gave a faint smile.
He showed no signs of the deep-seated hatred one would expect from a victim.
"Hmph. So? You appeared behind me. What do you want?"
Displeasure, and even wariness, showed in Kukudar’s vertical pupils.
Although he did not fear these two, he worried they would use rhetoric to make Lince change his attitude toward him.
’It’s highly unlikely that would happen, but...’
After all, Kukudar was currently plagued by anxiety, so some vigilance was inevitable.
At this, the brother said no more.
Instead, it was the sister of the Twin Gods, Evelynia, who spoke.
"Your Excellency, please do not misunderstand."
"Of course, it is undeniable that you caused considerable trouble for our world."
"But since you have left, Your Excellency, the mortals of our world will soon be able to flourish once more."
"Therefore, we siblings have not come here for you."
With that, the Twin God Evelynia turned her gaze to the terrifying Flame Giant Dragon.
"Heeding the guidance of destiny, we siblings have come today because we wish to join your nation, esteemed Ancient Deity, esteemed God of Space and Fiery Sun."
Evelynia got straight to the point.
This scene, however, left Lince slightly stunned.
"Join?"
Recalling what Adelaide had previously said about these two, Lince grew thoughtful.
"So, from the very beginning, you two siblings foresaw Kukudar’s arrival, and even the Star Empire’s intervention?"
Lince said calmly, scrutinizing the two who were bowing before him.
Hearing this, the Twin Gods exchanged a smile.
"Your Excellency, it seems you also have a misunderstanding of the Power of destiny."
"Although we two siblings do indeed possess the Power of destiny when we combine our strength, the destiny we can foresee is limited."
"A long time ago, when we siblings first gained rudimentary control over the Destiny Law, we foresaw that our world was about to face a great crisis."
"As for the nature of that crisis, we actually did not know at the start."
"But knowing a crisis was coming was enough."
Under Lince’s gaze, after the sister finished speaking, the brother took over and continued earnestly,
"Therefore, to find a solution to the crisis, we siblings have been constantly trying to comprehend more of the Destiny Law’s Power and seeking destiny’s revelations to resolve this trouble."
"But the Law of destiny is so mysterious and vast, to say nothing of a destiny that involves things beyond our world."
"To make it easier for you all to understand the Power of destiny..."
"Let’s put it this way: if you see a world as a cocoon woven by destiny, then the vast Star Realm outside the world is an even larger cocoon of destiny."
"We siblings currently cannot completely control the destiny cocoon of our own world, let alone interfere with that of the Star Realm—a feat that was even more impossible for us in the past."
"Thus, for a very long time at the beginning, we siblings found no solution, nor did we receive any revelation that might have descended from the threads of the Star Realm’s Destiny Law."
"But, as it happens, perhaps the Law of destiny does favor us siblings after all."
As he said this, a joyful expression appeared on the brother Beckett’s face.
"About five or six hundred years ago, we siblings finally received a revelation from destiny."
"Destiny revealed to us that at a node in Subspace, there were two souls who could bring hope to our world."
"Therefore, there is no need for us siblings to explain further. We trust Your Excellency can now discern the reason for all of this."
Lince could accept this explanation.
After all, for Deities of a Lower-Rank Species who had not broken through the Star God threshold, the upper limit of the Law Power they could control was, in the end, ’Planet Level’.
As for Lince’s current state...
If one had to classify his Power level, he was likely a Constant Star Level existence.
In other words, for a short period, Lince did indeed possess the Ability to interfere with or even destroy an entire Fixed Star System, but this destruction did not include its Sun.
As for what level came after Star God, neither Lince nor the True Game had yet been able to make a clear classification.
"If that’s the case, I understand."
"So, you’ve really thought this through? You want to join the nation under my protection?"
"You must be clear: everything comes with a price."
To be honest, Lince had not expected things to develop this way.
’The entire Star Empire, including myself, hadn’t even had a chance to make a move, and it’s all over?’
