Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons - Chapter 253: The Choir’s Last Song
Boom!
Screeech!
A soul piercing scream escaped from the mouth of the Level 28 Sanguine Vulture Spawn.
It was sent flying tens of meters backward, crashing into the ancient wooden beam and destroying each one of them upon impact.
Feathers flew in the thick air.
Blood splattered onto the cold ground.
Thud! Thud!
The undead Storm Tyrant rushed forward, closing the distance between itself and its prey as quickly as possible. Up above, the remaining Sanguine Vulture Spawns watched the brutal battle, making various agitated cries.
They moved back and forth, ready to pounce on their enemies at any moment. Yet, none of them left their spots. It was as if they were being held back by an invisible, commanding power.
On the ground, the Level 28 Sanguine Vulture Spawn lay broken and defeated.
Its chest was caved inward, its bones shattered to pieces, and the fragmented remains of its organs could be seen through the gaping wound.
It whimpered softly.
Its eyes were filled with pure dread.
The undead Storm Tyrant arrived before its fallen foe. Its hollow sockets, filled with burning soul fire, stared down at the vulture without mercy.
Then it raised its massive hammer high.
Bang!
The hammer slammed into the chest of the Level 28 Vulture, pulverizing all its remaining organs and bones.
Blood mixed with bone fragments gushed out of its broken body.
It was deader than dead.
When the remaining Sanguine Vulture Spawns saw their leader crushed so brutally, they cried out in pain and anguish.
But instead of attacking the human who had caused this destruction, they did something unexpected.
They vanished from their spots as if they were fleeing for their very lives.
And indeed, they were running for their lives.
Looking at the now quiet choir chamber, Thoren nodded with a pleased expression.
With a Peak Bronze Grade weapon in its hands, he did not believe any beast below the Mini floor boss could withstand three attacks from the undead Storm Tyrant without being smashed to pieces.
With the Sanguine Vultures gone, the chamber descended into a strange, calm silence.
The oppressive darkness became less terrifying, as if it had lost its very soul.
Without hesitating, Thoren walked toward the corpse of the Level 28 Sanguine Vulture Spawn and stopped a couple of feet away.
[Undead Summoning]
[Bone Manipulation]
Instantly, a powerful surge of undead energy erupted from beneath the corpse, seeping into its broken body. Slowly, the shattered bones began to reattach themselves to their proper places.
A few seconds later, the vulture’s lifeless eyes burned with terrifying soul fire.
It rose to its feet, took a couple of unsteady steps, and stood before Thoren in submission.
Seeing this, Thoren nodded with satisfaction.
"Good. Good," he muttered and turned his head toward the other fallen vultures.
Without hesitation, he cast his skills again on the remaining corpses. In less than a minute, four more undead Sanguine Vulture Spawns stood before him in a neat row.
Three of them were Level 27, while the last one was the first undead vulture spawn he had converted earlier, a Level 26.
Looking at the five undead Sanguine Vulture Spawns standing before him, Thoren felt truly satisfied.
"With this, I can easily kill any of my enemies without deploying all my forces," he whispered under his breath.
The Sanguine Vulture Spawns were beasts specifically designed for assassination. Thus, he was going to use them for exactly what they were made for.
With the Sanguine threat defeated, he focused his attention on the blinking notification at the corner of his retinal display.
[Experience Gained +4000]
[Summoned Entities: Experience Gained +2000]
Looking at the notification, Thoren nodded but did not dwell on it for too long. He headed deeper into the choir chamber, his senses still alert.
To the left, he saw a small room that used to serve as a changing room for the choir members long ago.
He commanded one of his undead elites to walk into the room first. With the elite undead leading the way, he followed closely behind with his perception fully released.
He was ready to react if he detected any killing intent, but he found nothing dangerous inside.
Hung on the wall was a small silver bell, tarnished by age but still intact.
He stared at the bell for a moment and then commanded the undead servant to bring it to him. The undead servant picked up the small bell and handed it to its master.
[Choir Bell Charm]
[Grade: Low Bronze Grade]
[Description: Emits soul sound pulses that disrupt those who hide in the darkness.]
Looking at the details of the bell, Thoren creased his brow for a moment before a light smile crept up his face.
"Although with my Floating Lantern, I do not fear those that hide in the darkness. Still, this could be useful," he said softly. Then he swung the bell gently.
Tink!
The moment the soul sound pulse echoed through the chamber, his Awakened Soul trembled slightly in response.
Hmm?
Thoren was genuinely stunned. He stared at the small silver bell in his hand as if he had just found a priceless treasure.
Although his spirit had already evolved into an Awakened Soul, the Choir Bell Charm still had a noticeable effect on him.
But what about those who had not yet evolved their spirits? Against this bell, they could only be at his complete mercy.
"What would happen if I combined this with my Awakened Soul aura?" he grinned at the thought.
His awakened soul was already overpowered on its own, but with the Choir Bell Charm, it was like adding wings to the back of a tiger.
"Now, this is what ruin exploration should feel like," he said with genuine satisfaction.
All the previous items he had found in this place had been lackluster. None of them could truly help him improve his combat effectiveness.
But now, he had found something truly valuable.
He was very pleased with this discovery.
He placed the Choir Bell Charm carefully into his inventory and departed from the small changing room.
He searched the rest of the choir chamber for any additional treasure but found nothing of value. Left with no other choice, he decided to return through the path he had come from earlier.
Just as he was making his way back, a lone figure appeared in front of the choir hall entrance. The figure stared at the window entrance intently for a moment and then prepared to enter.
