Chapter 270: Chapter 270: Golden Bone Ring

With the death of the Golden Skull,

the surrounding Undead also disappeared one by one.

It wasn’t because of anything Li Wei had done.

Rather, the Dream Weaver who created the Undead had been defeated and retreated.

The Undead he had created were erased by another Dream Weaver.

Li Wei looked at the Golden Bone Ring on the ground, a puzzled expression on his face.

’Logically, a Dream Creation shouldn’t leave anything behind after it dies. So why did the Golden Skull leave a Golden Bone Ring behind?’

Li Wei thought of a possibility.

’A Dream Creation really doesn’t leave anything behind when it dies. But what if the item was intentionally placed inside the Dream Creation by a Dream Weaver?’

Li Wei instantly realized that the other party wanted to deliver this Golden Bone Ring into his hands.

He didn’t understand why they would do that.

’What’s the point of this?’

’Or rather, what’s in it for them?’

’They can’t kill me, so they’re trying to win me over?’

Li Wei found it a bit strange.

’Who exactly was the Dream Weaver who created the Undead to attack me?’

He suspected it might be the Legendary Witch Lich.

But then again, that seemed unlikely.

’The Legendary Witch Lich is on the Ancient Battlefield thousands of kilometers away. How could it have entered the Elemental Tower’s dream?’

Besides, there was no evidence that the Legendary Witch Lich was also a Dream Weaver.

Of course, there was no proof it wasn’t, either.

After a moment of hesitation, Li Wei decided to pick up the Golden Bone Ring from the ground.

He had a feeling this item was extraordinary.

It was definitely no ordinary object.

The Golden Bone Ring was shaped like a skull.

As he looked at the Golden Bone Ring, he felt as if a pair of eyes were watching him from within the skull’s dark eye sockets.

After examining it for a moment, Li Wei felt the Golden Bone Ring was unlike anything else in the dream.

It had a very special quality to it.

It felt as if it were real.

When Li Wei held the Golden Bone Ring, he had a feeling he could take it into the real world.

He wasn’t sure if it was just an illusion.

Li Wei hurried back to his safe house.

He was stopped at the entrance.

The door to the safe house, which was clearly right in front of him, seemed as distant as the horizon.

The surrounding houses blurred as a path of light appeared at his feet, stretching up toward the sky.

Li Wei looked up and saw that the path of light led outside the Dream Bubble.

He knew this was an invitation from a Dream Weaver.

Li Wei put away the Golden Bone Ring and stepped onto the path of light.

Though the path of light was clearly long and distant, he arrived outside the Dream Bubble in just a few steps.

Each of his steps seemed to cover a thousand meters.

Once outside the Dream Bubble, Li Wei could see the end of the path of light.

A Mage Tower.

It was identical in shape to the Elemental Tower.

Li Wei had long guessed that the second Dream Weaver was a Mage from the Elemental Tower.

Otherwise, they wouldn’t have actively intervened to stabilize the dream.

It was precisely because of their presence that the Nightmares within the dream didn’t dare to wreak havoc wantonly.

Nightmares are creatures born naturally in the Dream World.

Even Dream Weavers can’t eradicate them; they can only do their best to maintain the dream’s stability.

Li Wei walked up to the gates of the Elemental Tower in the dream.

BANG!

The gates swung open.

Li Wei walked inside.

Two figures appeared before him.

"Welcome to the Elemental Tower’s dream."

"Huh? Why is it you?"

As his eyes adjusted to the change in light, Li Wei turned to look at the person who had spoken in confusion.

When he saw who it was, he was also a little surprised.

"Teacher Jasmine, good evening."

Jasmine smiled and returned his greeting.

The man beside her looked surprised. "Jasmine, you know him?"

"He’s the Li Wei I was telling you about," Jasmine said.

"Li Wei? The new student? I never would have thought you were a Sleepwalker," the man said.

He introduced himself, "Hello, my name is Eiris."

Li Wei said, "Hello, I’m Li Wei."

"Are you the Dream Weaver who just intervened?" Li Wei asked curiously.

Hearing this, Eiris and Jasmine chuckled and shook their heads. "How could I possibly have that kind of power?" Eiris said.

"The Dream Weaver is the Vice Tower Master. We are just Sleepwalkers." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Jasmine looked at Li Wei and asked, "You know about Dream Weavers. Have you joined other dream organizations before?"

Li Wei replied, "No, but I have come into contact with an organization called the Wandering God Association."

Jasmine and Eiris exchanged a glance. "That’s a relief. The Wandering God Association is a neutral faction."

Li Wei asked, puzzled, "Is there a problem?"

Jasmine explained, "Many dream organizations are evil or chaotic factions. They view the dream as a lawless zone where they can do whatever they want, committing all sorts of evil."

Hearing this, Li Wei nodded in understanding.

’If one could become aware of the dream and even manipulate it, it would be easy to lose oneself within it. In the dream, a Sleepwalker is nearly omnipotent, making it easy for their true nature to be exposed.’

Jasmine asked about this because she was afraid Li Wei had been led astray.

Eiris said, "The Elemental Tower won’t investigate what you’ve done in the past."

"But since you are a member of the Elemental Tower, you must abide by its rules, even in the Dream World."

"Additionally, there are some rules specifically for Sleepwalkers."

"The first rule is that you are forbidden from arbitrarily invading the dreams of any Mage from the Elemental Tower."

...

Eiris explained the Elemental Tower’s rules to Li Wei.

Li Wei nodded along in agreement.

There were quite a few restrictions.

For example, one could not humiliate others in the dream.

One could not steal secrets of the Elemental Tower in the dream.

One could not reveal the secrets of the Dream World to non-Sleepwalkers.

After speaking for some time, Eiris turned to Jasmine and asked, "I didn’t miss anything, did I?"

Jasmine shook her head. "No."

Eiris took out a contract and handed it to Li Wei. "Sign this contract. Everything we just discussed will take effect once you do."

Li Wei hesitated for a moment.

Jasmine said, "There’s no need to hesitate. The moment you heard the Rules Eiris listed, the contract already took effect."

"These are the Rules the Dream Weaver has set for this dream."

Li Wei took the contract, and it immediately dissolved into a wisp of light that flew into his body.

Jasmine said, "The first time you break a Rule, you will be warned."

"The second time, there will be a punishment."

"What kind of punishment?" Li Wei asked.

Jasmine shook her head. "I don’t know either. All I know is that those who have been punished are never willing to break the Rules again."

"And they’ve never told anyone what the punishment entails."

’How mysterious,’ Li Wei griped internally.

"Is there anything else? If not, I’ll be heading back," Li Wei said.

Jasmine said, "That’s all. You can go."

"Remember, don’t arbitrarily invade a Mage’s dream. That’s the Rule most people break first," Jasmine reminded him.

Li Wei nodded. "Yes, I understand."

He left the dream’s Elemental Tower and returned to his safe house.

Upon returning to the fourth layer of the Dream World, the contract within Li Wei’s body slowly coalesced back into a piece of paper before him.

Seeing the paper contract, Li Wei looked surprised.

’Does this mean the contract is invalid for me?’

The contract had been extracted.

Here in the fourth layer of the Dream World, the contract’s Rules from the first layer could not affect him.

Exiting the Dream World, Li Wei opened his eyes. He stared in astonishment at the Golden Bone Ring resting in his palm.
