Without the Bone Bridges, the Undead could not be deployed onto the Floating City in large numbers.

Most importantly, there was the power the Elemental Tower displayed when the last Bone Bridge was destroyed.

Weighing the pros and cons, and with their objective achieved, retreating was the best choice.

Arriving at the Hall of Truth, Li Wei met with Fang Lide and told him about the destruction of the Radiant Magic Cannon.

Fang Lide nodded and said, "It’s alright. You did very well. It wasn’t your fault."

"And it was thanks to the choice you made that the Elemental Tower was able to achieve final victory."

"Your performance in this war will be counted as a great contribution. Securing an opportunity to go to the Elemental Interface should be a sure thing."

Li Wei saw that not only was Fang Lide not angry, he was actually praising him.

He breathed a sigh of relief.

"Thank you."

"I’m a bit tired. I’d like to go back and rest for a few days," Li Wei said.

Fang Lide nodded. "No problem. Now that the war is over, the research on the Sunshine project won’t be pushed so urgently. You can relax for a few days."

"As for your rewards, it will probably be some time before they’re issued. I’ll do my best to fight for the highest possible reward for you."

Valen had only come by on the first day the Dragon Blood Tree was planted and hadn’t been back since.

And Kuro and Diana would never go near the Dragon Blood Tree without Li Wei’s permission.

Li Wei moved closer and crouched down to examine it.

He found that the footprint was still fresh, left just a short while ago.

Li Wei looked at the Little Bone Dragon and asked, "Did someone come here?"

The Little Bone Dragon shook its head. "No."

Li Wei stared at the Little Bone Dragon. He could sense it was lying.

’Who could it be?’

’And why would the Little Bone Dragon lie?’

After being stared at by Li Wei for a while, the Little Bone Dragon seemed to feel guilty. It turned its head, lay down on the ground, and pretended to be asleep.

The Soul Flame in its eyes went out, cutting off its connection to the outside world.

Li Wei walked a circle around the area and found only that single footprint in front of the Dragon Blood Tree. There were no others on the ground.
