The whereabouts of the Poison Dragon Saliva and Goddess’s Tears were still unknown, and they didn’t sound like simple items to acquire.

This gave Li Wei quite a headache.

Even knowing the locations of the first two materials, obtaining them would be a difficult task.

For some reason, after obtaining the Polluted Earth Rebirth Ceremony, Li Wei always felt that something about it was fishy.

He only knew that in the past, Torresta had been a member of the Illusion Spirit Tower.

When Li Wei was leaving, Valen came out to see him off.

He asked curiously, "Master Valen, how did you and my master first meet?"

He wasn’t very strong back then, either. The two of us traveled together and went through a lot.

Valen nodded. "Yes. He should have taught it to you."

A vibrant rose bloomed in his palm.

It looked incredibly lifelike.

Valen glanced at it and said with a smile, "It seems Torresta didn’t misjudge you. You have truly inherited his mantle."

Li Wei found this a bit strange and asked, "How many years have you and my master known each other?"

Hearing this, Valen froze for a moment.

He frowned in thought for a long while before shaking his head and saying, "I don’t remember clearly. It’s probably been forty or fifty years."

Li Wei’s brow furrowed. Something didn’t feel right.

’Forty or fifty years?’

’Forty or fifty years ago, the Legendary Witch Lich should have still been dormant on the Ancient Battlefield.’

’How could Torresta have gotten involved with the Legendary Witch Lich?’

’Could he have encountered something at the Elemental Tower?’

Li Wei asked, "Did anything happen back when my master visited the Elemental Tower?"

Valen tried to recall, but even for him, events from forty or fifty years ago were somewhat hazy.

After a long pause, Valen finally said, "I think something did happen."

He slapped his forehead. "I remember now! There was an Undead uprising in the Floating City back then. A horde of Undead appeared out of thin air, causing considerable casualties.

During that battle, the Mage Tower also captured a Rock Demon Beast that had taken the form of a mountain behemoth and imprisoned it."

Li Wei’s expression flickered.

’So, my master really did have contact with the Legendary Witch Lich?’

It seemed Valen didn’t know the specific details either.

Valen continued, "After the uprising, Torresta returned to the Illusion Spirit Tower. I heard that not long after, he left the Illusion Spirit Tower and went to the remote Northern Territory."

Li Wei was now ninety percent certain that Torresta was connected to the Legendary Witch Lich.

Valen added, "I also heard one more thing. Rumor has it that the Illusion Spirit Tower was the one who expelled Torresta, but to this day, the Illusion Spirit Tower has never officially commented on it."

Li Wei’s expression shifted again. He sensed something was amiss.

’What happened after Torresta returned to the Illusion Spirit Tower that was so serious it caused them to expel him?’

Valen shook his head. "Well, whatever the reason, the Illusion Spirit Tower has never given an explanation for what happened."

"It’s strange, now that I think about it. Torresta’s status at the Illusion Spirit Tower was equivalent to a Purple Level Class student here at the Elemental Tower, yet for some reason, he was always being targeted by them."

Li Wei was surprised. ’That happened, too?’

Valen said, "If you really want to know what happened back then, you should just ask your master. I’m sure he’d tell you."

Li Wei laughed bitterly to himself.

The whole point was that he didn’t want Torresta to know he was investigating his past.

He was suspicious of the relationship between Torresta and the Legendary Witch Lich.

Too many coincidences had occurred since he arrived at the Elemental Tower, and they all felt a little too convenient.

It was as if everything had been arranged by someone else.

Li Wei didn’t like that feeling.

"Thank you for answering my questions, Master Valen. This is far enough. Goodbye, Master."

"Goodbye. Come back and visit when you have time."

Li Wei moved into the Celestial Realm.

In the afternoon, Li Wei paid a visit to the Hall of Truth.

When Fang Lide saw him, he congratulated him on becoming a student of the Purple Level Class.

Seeing that Li Wei had come to the Hall of Truth the very next day, Fang Lide was overjoyed.
