"How is it, Young Master? Do you feel better now?" Nora asked worriedly, and Austin replied with a nod.

"Yes. Thank you, Nora."

He set the empty bottle aside and looked at the food she had brought.

He noticed there were two bowls sitting on a tray.

But while one was full and piled with meat, vegetables, and thick broth, the other was noticeably smaller.

"Is this one mine?" Austin pointed at the bigger bowl.

"Yes, Young Master. The other one is mine."

He looked at her small bowl, then back at his. "No way. Yours is too small. Why would you request for yours to be so small?"

"Um, because...."

"It’s fine. Add to yours from mine." Austin swiftly began scooping from his bowl before she could finish talking.

Then he transferred a generous portion of meat and vegetables into hers until both bowls looked roughly equal to one another.

"There," Austin stated simply as he picked up his own bowl to eat. "Now, let’s eat."

"Thank you, Young Master."

"No need to thank me. It’s my job to take care of you." He replied, but Nora didn’t say anything in return. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Instead, she simply stared at her bowl for a moment before smiling softly as she picked it up to eat, and the two of them began to eat together in silence.

But while they were doing this, another notification suddenly appeared in the corner of Austin’s vision.

Looking at the words displayed in front of him, Austin could only smile at how fast things were progressing between him and Nora.

If someone had told him an hour ago that he would be dying and waking up in a different world where there was someone as beautiful as Nora, he probably would have knocked the person on the head for saying something as atrocious as that.

But right now, to actually experience that in real life really felt so surreal to him.

But Austin kept eating with a smile as he noticed Nora’s excited tail wagging behind her, as the realisation of eating close to him for the first time in years caught up to her.

Besides, it was only the two of them in the room right now, so Austin couldn’t help but smile in return as he wondered how things were going to be from now on.

Anyways, time passed and the two of them were finally done eating.

Currently, Austin was standing by the window, staring at the bright moonlight as he took everything in.

The way he had died and his encounter with the Chan Household.

Everything had happened so fast, but he definitely didn’t regret how things had turned out.

Meanwhile, Nora was helping him to set his bed before bowing respectfully the moment she was done. "Your bed is set, Young Master. You can sleep now and I’ll just wait outside."

Hearing this, Austin instantly pulled his gaze away from the window. "Huh? What do you mean you’ll be waiting outside? Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten what I said earlier?" Austin asked, and Nora’s cheeks instantly turned crimson because she recalled when Austin had said he would rather have her here with him than have her leave to head out into the night.

At first, she thought he meant he didn’t want her leaving his side in terms of heading over to the storekeeper’s shop earlier, but now she realised that Austin really didn’t want her to leave his side even now, and this made her face turn red like a tomato when she watched Austin patting his bed with a smug grin on his face.

From what she could understand right now, it certainly seemed like he was enjoying the way he was teasing her, in a good way.

It was annoying to be teased, but Nora certainly couldn’t help but be attracted to how much Austin had changed since he entered the Chan Household mansion and stepped out earlier.

’But how can he look so handsome and so annoying at the same time.’ Nora uttered in her thoughts before scooting over to rest close to him on the bed.

Once settled, Austin smiled and then suddenly began to frown.

Noticing this, Nora couldn’t help but ask. "What’s wrong?"

"It’s just that I suddenly realise how badly I’ve been treating you up till now, and I don’t think I’ve ever apologised to you before, so I really want to say I’m sorry for everything. And I’m sorry for how things are right now, with us sharing a bed and all. I know there’s not much with me right now but I promise to make things better for us. So please, just give me a little bit of time."

Silence filled the room as Nora stared at Austin, unable to believe what she was hearing.

For as long as she could remember, Austin had never really apologised to her for anything before.

However, right now, here he was, apologising to her as though it wasn’t really a big deal for him.

It certainly felt strange, but Nora couldn’t deny how good it felt as well, because for the first time in a long time, she could feel how sincere the words he had uttered were.

Moreover, it wasn’t like she didn’t like how the two of them were sharing a bed right now.

If her beloved young master knew how many times she had imagined a situation like this in the past, he probably would not have said what he said.

And so, in a nutshell, Nora really didn’t mind how things had turned out for them, because as long as Austin was close to her, that was all that really mattered to her.

Anyways, since she really didn’t know what to say to him in return, Nora slowly remained silent as she leaned close to him, resting her head on his chest.

She definitely wouldn’t have been brave enough to do this if it were last night, but since Austin had been petting her head and snuggling close to her, Nora couldn’t help but feel more relaxed resting close to him.
