Kailen eventually left the restaurant with the others. He retired to his hotel room. Dawnseer, Lotus, and Dexter also went their separate ways to handle their personal stuff.

As for Julian, the dude had returned to his hotel room with one of the ladies at the restaurant.

Currently, Kailen was laying down on the couch in the suite. A holographic screen appeared before him as he scrolled down.

"What the hell?" Kailen sighed.

Just a normal conversation he had with Dawnseer and the others was all over social media? Was a man not allowed to have some privacy?

Eventually, he came across the reply of Tawaki Xi. Kailen merely shook his head.

When he stated that he would get first place in the national competition, it was not because of anything personal. It was a statement of necessity, backed by confidence in his power. Why was this Tawaki Xi taking things personally? Was he one of those fellows who valued public opinion so much?

"My words were not even directed at him. I was merely having a conversation with people I was eating with. Why did he even see the need to reply? How childish," Kailen commented and scrolled through the rest of the feeds.

He didn’t really have much to do tonight, so he decided to relax and idle away. Whether he trained or not would not change anything tomorrow. Just one night was not enough to increase his strength.

The Will of the Universe appeared in the room and sat behind him.

"Put on a movie. You are so boring, brat." She clicked her tongue.

"Old hag, are you trying to bully me? I swear if you—"

"What... what can you do...?"

"Alright... have it your way..."

Kailen was currently dressed in a hooded long coat, black jeans, and white sneakers. His dark, void-like hair and eyes gleamed with an otherworldly luster. He stared at the empty room for a while before he mused.

"This will definitely be the last time I will come to this hotel."

After winning the national competition of the NGU, he would obtain a slot into Venzula Empire Academy and enroll in the academy. Right after completing the enrollment process, he would visit Arrie and the others in the light region of the universe.

"I suppose by the time I return to the light region of the universe, news of the existence of the chaotic region of the universe and what has happened concerning me, since I arrived here, would have already traveled to the light region. Visiting transcendents from the Venzula Empire to the light region will naturally spread this news to the light region. Right at the door, he saw Julian leaving his room too. At Julian’s side was the lady he had brought to the suite with him last night. The elf was smiling and whispering flirtatious stuff into his ears.

Kailen stared at Julian for a moment and shook his head. This fellow was really having the time of his life.

The moment the lady saw Kailen, though, she stared at him with stars in her eyes.

"Oh my God... can I get an autograph..." She almost squealed.

He was more good looking in person, she thought as she stared at Kailen.

Julian was so shocked he didn’t know what to do. What kind of attitude shift was this? Even a transcendent woman could not be trusted. As a vampire, how could Kailen, a human, beat him in charm? What the hell was going on? The same thing happened the last time they were in Everdawn City of the Southern Continent. Was Kailen some sort of novel protagonist all the ladies swooned over?

As for Kailen, he smiled warmly towards the lady, melded with the void, and disappeared from the hallway. He had naturally read Julian’s thoughts from his facial expressions using emotional resonance. He didn’t want Julian to kill him for stealing a woman from him. What was with Julian and women? What a Casanova.

Of course, the actual reason he had ’escaped’ was because he wanted to give Julian and the lady some privacy. Plus, Kailen knew the lady was not romantically interested in him. She was a crazy fangirl. And he felt awkward around crazy fangirls. And even if the lady had been romantically interested in him, he only had eyes for Arrie.

Anyway, when Kailen disappeared from the hallway, Julian sighed in relief.

"Hopefully that bastard didn’t betray me," he mused inwardly.

"How about one last exercise before I leave?" he whispered into the lady’s ears. There were several hours left for the participants to arrive at the NGU HQ. Just a few more minutes of some activities won’t delay him.

"Okay~~" she replied.

The duo entered Kailen’s suite, which was left open, and shut the door.

Kailen, with snowflakes drifting across his face, was currently standing outside the villa Julian and he were staying in. If he knew Julian was currently having fun with the elf lady in his former suite, black lines would have appeared on his forehead.
