Heaven-Surpassing Divine Emperor
Chapter 235 - 233: Defeating a True Disciple with a Punch
Jiang Chen glanced over, his eyes shimmering with an azure-gold light.
From high in the distant clouds, a figure strode through the air, arriving at a jaw-dropping speed.
BOOM—
A streak of light shot down and landed directly in front of Cuiwei Pavilion. The man’s feet slammed into the ground, causing the entire pavilion to tremble.
A terrifying storm of energy erupted from the newcomer, raging between heaven and earth like a tornado.
Sand flew and stones tumbled as one stone slab after another was ripped from the ground.
Wangg Tianyi!
He was a True Disciple of the Saint Martial Sword Sect and a master of the Celestial Alliance, with a cultivation at the Heavenly Destiny Realm Third Stage!
"Senior Brother Wangg, save me, save me..." Qiu Yunbo, drenched in his own blood, had a look of ecstasy in his eyes. He endured the searing pain wracking his body and cried out.
Wangg Tianyi froze, his brow furrowing slightly. He stared at Qiu Yunbo with a hint of confusion. "Who are you?"
Qiu Yunbo was speechless.
He was on the verge of a complete breakdown!
Qiu Yunbo’s face was a mask of blood. The fifty stabs he’d endured hadn’t just been to his body; several had carved gruesome gashes across his face, from which blood now streamed freely. He was completely unrecognizable; even his own parents would have had trouble identifying him.
So what chance did Wangg Tianyi have?
On the verge of tears but unable to cry, Qiu Yunbo’s lips trembled as he shouted, "Senior Brother Wangg, it’s me, Qiu Yunbo! Save me! I’m begging you, save me..."
"Qiu Yunbo? How did you end up like this?" Wangg Tianyi’s eyes went wide in disbelief.
「Before this...」
He had already received word that Jiang Chen had emerged from the Sword Pool and was at Cuiwei Pavilion looking for trouble with Qiu Yunbo.
He had rushed over as fast as he could, but he hadn’t expected to still be a step too late.
He certainly hadn’t expected to find Qiu Yunbo in such a miserable state.
Qiu Yunbo’s eyes filled with venomous resentment and hysterical killing intent. He gritted his teeth and said, "Senior Brother Wangg, Jiang Chen did all this! You must avenge me!"
"Jiang Chen?"
A cold glint appeared in Wangg Tianyi’s eyes as he turned to face Jiang Chen.
His face seemed to be covered in a layer of frost, and his chilling gaze, almost tangible, locked onto Jiang Chen.
Jiang Chen, however, merely spared him a glance before turning his attention to the Celestial Alliance Core Disciple holding the dagger. "Who told you to stop?" he asked coolly. "Ten breaths have passed. Why haven’t you made your move?"
"Huh? St-st-still attack?" The Core Disciple was stunned, casting a nervous glance at Wangg Tianyi.
This was a bona fide True Disciple!
Wangg Tianyi had come all the way from the Inner Sect. How could he possibly dare to harm Qiu Yunbo now?
A corner of Jiang Chen’s mouth lifted. "You have three breaths," he said faintly. "Stab him twice more, or I’ll stick this dagger in you!"
"B-But..." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"One breath!"
"I..."
"Two breaths!"
Jiang Chen’s icy gaze fixed on the Core Disciple. "Time’s up. Why haven’t you moved?"
The disciple shuddered violently. The image of the men who had tried to block Jiang Chen earlier, only to have their heads mercilessly exploded, flashed through his mind. He swallowed hard, gripped the dagger, and lunged forward. PSHH! With a spray of blood, the cold, glinting dagger plunged directly into Qiu Yunbo’s thigh.
"AOOOWWWW..."
Qiu Yunbo screamed in agony, his face contorting. He roared hysterically, "You bastard, you still dare attack me? Just you wait! Once I get out of this, I’ll repay you a hundred, a thousand times over!"
"Repay me?"
The Core Disciple had initially been cowed by Wangg Tianyi’s arrival, but under Qiu Yunbo’s venomous stare, a cold light flashed in his own eyes. "That’s only a possibility if you’re still alive!"
"What... what are you trying to do?" Qiu Yunbo’s eyes widened as he stared at the man in disbelief.
"What am I doing? I’m taking your life! I’ve put up with you for a long time!"
The Core Disciple’s features twisted into a vicious snarl.
He thrust the dagger forward with all his might.
THUD—
The blade pierced Qiu Yunbo’s heart. His mouth fell open, blood pouring out as his eyes filled with intense unwillingness and despair. His breath ceased, and he died.
Wangg Tianyi had assumed that once he appeared, the Core Disciple wouldn’t dare to act.
The result was a resounding slap in the face.
Looking at the lifeless body of Qiu Yunbo, Wangg Tianyi’s eyes blazed with a chilling light, his fury a roaring inferno. His dark gaze fell upon the Core Disciple, and he enunciated every word. "You dare kill Qiu Yunbo right in front of me? Good. Very good. You can join him in death!"
VMM!
An icy palm-light blotted out the sky as it descended upon the Core Disciple.
It looked as though he was about to be obliterated by the strike.
Just at that critical moment...
The shadow of a fist shot out from the side, shattering the palm print. The terrifying shockwave of energy sent the Core Disciple flying backward, spitting blood.
Though he was severely injured, his life had been spared!
Wangg Tianyi’s dark eyes turned to Jiang Chen. "You dare obstruct me?" he asked sinisterly.
"Why wouldn’t I dare?"
Jiang Chen’s reply was nonchalant.
Wangg Tianyi let out a cold, grating laugh, his words as sharp as blades. "I know you... Jiang Chen, right? I’ve long heard that the Outer Sect produced some brat who doesn’t know his place, daring to challenge the authority of my Celestial Alliance. A few days ago, I personally visited the Outer Sect to find you, but unfortunately, you weren’t there. I just killed some ant who had the audacity to provoke my Celestial Alliance."
The "ant" he spoke of was, of course, Nalan Qiantian.
In his eyes, Nalan Qiantian was nothing more than a bug he could crush at will, not even worth mentioning.
Jiang Chen’s gaze on Wangg Tianyi turned frigid, a sharp, murderous intent beginning to stir within him. "An ant?" he said softly. "Perhaps in your eyes, Nalan Qiantian was insignificant, someone you could crush without a thought. But he was my, Jiang Chen’s, brother. For those who kill my brothers, there is only one fate!"
"Oh?"
Wangg Tianyi looked at Jiang Chen, utterly unafraid.
His cultivation had reached the Heavenly Destiny Realm Third Stage, and he possessed the ability to fight above his level. Therefore, even knowing Jiang Chen had slain Li Yunlong, he didn’t take him seriously in the slightest.
The smile on Jiang Chen’s face slowly vanished, replaced by an arctic chill. "And that is—death!"
The single word: Death!
It landed with the force of a hammer strike!
It was a clap of thunder!
The pounding of war drums!
That one word contained all of Jiang Chen’s brimming rage: rage at the Celestial Alliance’s endless oppression; rage at their masters’ careless disregard for human life; and even more, rage at Wangg Tianyi for killing Nalan Qiantian on a whim...
"Death? Hahaha, you want to kill me? A mere Core Disciple from the Outer Sect like you wants to kill me? Ridiculous! That is the most ridiculous, overconfident joke I’ve ever heard!" Wangg Tianyi doubled over with laughter, his eyes narrowed to slits that gleamed with a sharp, cold light.
"Overconfident? Let’s see if you’re still laughing in a moment!"
Jiang Chen’s eyes narrowed, and he suddenly struck.
He threw a punch through the air, unleashing a terrifying, destructive force.
"Hm?"
The nonchalant expression on Wangg Tianyi’s face changed abruptly. That fist, glowing with a faint, dark-gold light, was already upon him, carrying a destructive power that made the hair on his body stand on end.
Wangg Tianyi crossed his hands in front of him, drawing a circle to his left and right.
Two green shields of light materialized before him.
However...
BOOM! BOOM! Before the dark-gold fist, the two shields of light were as fragile as glass, shattering instantly.
The punch landed squarely on the left side of Wangg Tianyi’s face.
Half of his face caved in, the muscles twisting and deforming completely. The immense force sent him flying hundreds of meters through the air before he slammed heavily into the ground. A rolling cloud of dust obscured his figure.
With a single punch, True Disciple Wangg Tianyi was sent flying.
The experts watching this scene, both openly and in secret, were all utterly horrified!
