Zorat was quite pleased to get the awaited ping from his authority. All he had done up to this point was simply to fulfill the desires of Jacob.

This time, it was particularly very satisfying to see the expression on the young man’s face as he left shattered. Even more so than all the other times he had fulfilled the desires of the other heroes.

Even though what Zorat had just accomplished wasn’t really about Jacob and was all about getting his hands on the divine authority fragments.....

It is still always an enjoyable experience, especially when he gets to deal with someone he’s marked in the process.

Jacob, though always collected and never showing any outward hostilities toward Zorat, was, in fact, someone who despised him quite much, well, the real Caleb, that is.

And he always knew this.

Right from the moment of their first arrival in this world, the very first bloodlust he felt directed at him came from the young man.

With a little introspective thought, and later the use of his abilities, he found why this person would have such reactions to him when he’s had literally zero encounters with the original Caleb before, except for when they were gathered to discuss their assigned group project before being so abruptly transmigrated to another world.

It didn’t take much to figure out that the young human male had the hots for the young Miss Ava.

Whether Ava was aware of these feelings was still unknown to Zorat, but he was certain she didn’t have him in his sights at all.

Having Ava, the one he loves so deeply, become always so visibly smitten around him, would of course have triggered the young man’s real personality to shine through.....

The personality of a scheming human who would do whatever it takes to get what they want.

Just the way Zorat likes them.....

Only problem was... he had done that to Zorat, not to Caleb.

It was no business of Zorat that this person obviously hates the real Caleb even before the transmigration.

He had released uncontrollable bloodlust at Zorat on countless occasions, though he acts cordial on the outside just like the other heroes; it was all for show.

Zorat was certain the young man wanted him dead.

And he proved it when he and his henchmen planned to do Zorat in at the catacombs of permafrost. Though they were unable to pull it off in the end, and it might have even gone unnoticed.... But someone who has done way more terrifying things, like Zorat, could already tell what was coming and what they planned.

Also, the present outward animosity being projected by the immature hero of healing light towards Zorat was no doubt also cultivated by Jacob, whether directly or indirectly.....

This had also put a pebble in the way for when it’s time to get her divine authority fragment as well....

Because when a female already holds a negative perception of Zorat in her mind, it becomes difficult to make them easily trust him like the others.

All of this combined into why it was so satisfying watching the young man leave so broken.

And for someone so pretentious and always so refined, his most deeply ingrained desire was one of the most messed-up of all the heroes Zorat had seen.

When Zorat had come out of the catacombs of permafrost and was in search of his new targets.....

He had run his ability on all the Heroes, going in depth on both their surface desires and most deeply buried desires.

And for Jacob Heywood?....

.... His surprisingly deeply buried desire was to be ’sexually humiliated.’

Where such a desire stemmed from was still a riddle to Zorat....

The young man must have had an interesting history, he thought.

This also strangely made him seem interesting to Zorat, since Zorat hated boring people the most.

Going about fulfilling said desire, though, needed some creative thinking from Zorat as to how to deal the most impressionable damage to him... whilst also fulfilling his desires. A fulfilled desire could have both positive and negative effects as a by-product after all.

Zorat decided on this particular method as the most deserving approach for the young man. And he was quite satisfied he did.

Now Zorat has his hands on a total of five divine authority fragments.

He just has to refine his latest one so he gets another ability under his ever-growing arsenal of abilities.

As for the young man who had just left...

Since Zorat’s seed of subordination was already implanted in him, he would have his fun tormenting him more without outright killing him for the meantime....

That is as far as he doesn’t directly hinder Zorat’s accumulation of divine authority fragments any more than he already has, or start being a general inconvenience.....

In that case, he would instantly kill him, since it wouldn’t be fun for him anymore.

Zorat brought his attention back to Ava, who was still just coming down from the electrifying rigors of such a powerful release.

Since she could barely walk, Zorat got her on her feet and helped her to her designated mattress.

There she held onto Zorat for long hours like a koala attached to a tree until she fell asleep.

But when Zorat tried to leave, she woke up and held him back again, forcing Zorat to stay a few extra minutes.

He understood her vulnerability and dependent state, but Zorat needed to go, so he could begin work on his newly acquired fragment.

It wasn’t until Zorat brought up the fact that her roommates would soon be heading back from their training and it wouldn’t be so proper, them finding out what must have happened in the accommodations they shared.

Reluctantly, she let Zorat go, with the concerning little detail that she would be stopping by his cabin quite frequently since they were now in a relationship.

Zorat left the female hero’s accommodations with his goal fulfilled and was ready to head back and return to doing what’s important, when he suddenly heard a yell from behind...
