Heroes' Prison
Chapter 1660 - 1585: Fusion of the Reaper’s Scythe
Class Artefact!
This was the first time Huang Yi had seen an exclusive class artefact; only his class was the Eternal Tyrant, and only he could use this Slaughter Blade.
This blade inherently contained immense destructive power and malevolent energy, making common Demigods not dare to touch it, but only he could wield it perfectly.
The attribute rules of this Slaughter Blade were different from other Divine Artifacts. It had no direct Attribute Value enhancement, but rather powerful effects. Each effect—Divine Enthronement, Bleeding, Bloodthirst, and Soul Devouring—were defiant of the natural order. Even just one of these effects on typical equipment would be rare, yet this artifact possessed four.
As a class artefact, this Slaughter Blade also perfectly enhanced Huang Yi’s four Divine-level Class Skills.
At Huang Yi’s current level, Divine-level Class Skills were of little use because his opponents were either Void Gods or Mortal Gods, who could be immune to most skills.
The skills he could use in battle were diminishing, often resorting to raw power combat, but with this Slaughter Blade, his four Divine-level Class Skills would regain their brilliance.
Among them, Kill Without Mercy had originally been fused into the Wings of Slaughter and couldn’t be used separately, but this Slaughter Blade had converted it into a permanent Passive Skill. As long as the blade stored the soul of a Void God, his attacks would not be ignored.
Previously, when he killed the Queen of Agony, the opponent clearly had only a fraction of a Health Point remaining, yet he couldn’t kill her—no matter how he attacked, she just ignored it. With this Slaughter Blade, such incidents wouldn’t happen again.
The other three Divine-level Class Skills had all been elevated to more potent effects.
For example, Instant Decision could originally execute enemies with less than 30% Health Points, but when he killed the Queen of Agony and the King of Greed, the skill failed to take effect.
With the enhancement of this class artefact, the Instant Decision skill now could take effect on Mortal Gods! From now on, any enemies he could see, be it Demigods with less than 50% Health Points, Void Gods with less than 30% Health Points, or Mortal Gods with less than 10% Health Points, could be directly executed. Among this, directly executing Mortal Gods was the deadliest aspect of this Slaughter Blade. Even at 10% Health Points, a Mortal God wouldn’t easily die, but in front of this Slaughter Blade, Mortal Gods would also swiftly fall.
In terms of attached skills, this Slaughter Blade had only one attached skill, far fewer than the standard three attached skills of common Divine Artifacts. But the sheer power of this single attached skill surpassed the majority of Artifact Skills—
It could summon the soul of a Tyrant, temporarily granting oneself the power of a Main God, effective even in the Mortal Realm without being constrained by mortal rules. Once unleashed, it might make everyone in the Mortal Realm, except for the King of Hell, flee in defeat.
The downside was, during Tyrant Possession, he would lose control, acting impulsively and possibly even killing teammates, potentially destroying The Second World. It couldn’t be used lightly.
Huang Yi tightly gripped the Slaughter Blade, giving it a gentle swing!
"Boom!" A blood-red Sword Qi instantly shot out, striking the Vast Sea of Blood below, splitting it in two with overwhelming waves that erupted all the way to the horizon.
That was just a light swing, showing such formidable force. If used seriously, it would surely have world-shattering effects.
Moreover, the attributes of this kind of artefact visible through inspection are only the obvious ones; there are many hidden abilities not explicitly revealed, such as the blade’s blood light, which, upon contact, corrodes the enemy’s mind. However, these hidden effects are not quantified concretely, making them difficult to describe as attributes.
Huang Yi nodded in satisfaction. He was very fond of this Slaughter Blade; it felt very comfortable in his hand, the lines on the handle seemed molded to fit his palm, even matching each fingerprint line perfectly, forming a perfect match.
As his strength continued to grow, he could bring out even more powerful effects from this artefact. If he reached the strength the Tyrant had in life, this Slaughter Blade would make both The Gods and Hordes of Demons tremble in fear!
However, he was somewhat worried; compared to other equipment, this artefact came with an extra "Item Maxim"—
"The last person killed by the Slaughter Blade will be the one who wields it."
Now Huang Yi had become the wielder of the Slaughter Blade; does that mean he would eventually be the last person it kills?
Huang Yi turned around. Behind him was the open doorway; he walked through it, returning to the Hall of Extinction.
Now, the inside of the Hall of Extinction was brightly lit, devoid of any darkness. As far as the eye could see, there were still numerous different doors in the hall.
He roughly understood why he hadn’t encountered any danger since entering the Hall of Extinction. It was likely because someone or something was ensuring his path to the 8th Stage to acquire this Slaughter Blade.
As for why he couldn’t see the light upon entering the Hall of Extinction, it might be because that entity didn’t want him distracted by other items, steering him directly to this Slaughter Blade on the 8th Stage. After obtaining the blade, the brightness returned.
But who exactly was that entity? The Master of Doom Palace was already dead, so it couldn’t have been him; it must have been someone else.
Huang Yi turned his head and looked at the other portals in the hall, standing silently, leading to different histories, enshrining other great artifacts.
Compared to the first level, the enshrining environment here is obviously several levels higher. The items here are directly placed on shelves for direct touch. Upon reaching the 8th Stage, each enshrined item is suppressed in a different dimension space behind a door, and each item has an extraordinary origin requiring specific people to take it away. Just like this Slaughter Blade, if it were someone else, not only would they be unable to take the Slaughter Blade, but their mind might be corroded by it.
Huang Yi has already obtained the Slaughter Blade and can’t take anything else. He directly bypassed those portals flashing and proceeded to the 9th Stage stairs.
Suddenly, his steps halted as he gazed stupefied at the end of the stairs.
At the last layer of the steps was a skeleton wearing a white robe, stained with a few drops of blood. It sat quietly there, like a Guardian, but without any breath of life, still faithful to its duty even after death.
With just one glance, Huang Yi recognized the identity of that skeleton, it was the Master of Doom Palace.
It seems the Master of Doom Palace brought the Slaughter Blade to the Hall of Extinction but suffered severe injury and died here.
Before dying, he remembered his guilt, loyally guarding the entrance to the 9th Stage, protecting the Reaper’s Scythe on the top level, until he passed away.
Huang Yi climbed the stairs, slowed down as he passed the relic of the Master of Doom Palace, and skirted around to enter the 9th Stage.
The 9th Stage was empty, only a rustic scythe floated at the center. Without releasing any light or movement, it suspended in midair, appearing like a common dead object.
That is the Reaper’s Scythe! The only item enshrined on the 9th Stage!
However, that is only the "Artifact" of the Reaper’s Scythe, lacking the "God."
Huang Yi took out the Artifact Spirit of his Reaper’s Scythe, stepped forward with large strides, and gently swung to touch that suspended Reaper’s Scythe.
Instantly, the Artifact Spirit was out of hand like a wisp of smoke, merging into the Reaper’s Scythe!
The Reaper’s Scythe trembled violently, as if awakening after countless years, starting to slowly rotate, emitting a grayish-white death aura, exuding ever stronger pressure.
"Clang clang clang!" Suddenly, all the artifacts enshrined in the Hall of Extinction trembled violently, seemingly shaken by the power of the Reaper’s Scythe, shivering.
Even the Slaughter Blade in Huang Yi’s hand quieted down, the blood light converging, and even the fresh blood at the tip ceased to drip.
The Hall of Extinction is meant for enshrining relics, and the Reaper’s Scythe is an artifact of the Death God, symbolizing the Supreme Rule of Death. Its awakening not only affects the Hall of Extinction but a cosmic change across the Dead Star.
At this moment, the air suddenly rippled, revealing a trace of historical shadow—
A vague white silhouette, holding the Reaper’s Scythe, slowly placing it into the void.
Behind him, the Master of Doom Palace bowed respectfully, showing an air of reverence.
That white figure commands such reverence from the Master of Doom Palace, undoubtedly the Death God himself. Unfortunately, he had his back to Huang Yi, surrounded by radiance, only visible as an outline, face unclear.
Now, the Death God has placed the Reaper’s Scythe into the void, where it rotates slowly in midair, steaming grayish-white death aura.
Death God carried with both hands, gazed at the Reaper’s Scythe, and said softly: "The four Supreme Rules are actually interconnected, death simultaneously involves life, time, space. From the perspective of life, death is the end of life; from the perspective of time, death is the end of a creature’s allotted time; from the perspective of space, death is the transfer of a creature from its world to the Underworld..."
"Does death itself die?" the Master of Doom Palace ventured to ask.
"That is also a question I’m perplexed by, maybe answers can be found in the Land of Origin..." Death God slowly replied.
As the words fell, the historical shadow dispersed, extremely brief, a scene when the Death God placed the Reaper’s Scythe into the Hall of Extinction, unknown years ago.
Now, the Death God is already dead, but the Reaper’s Scythe he placed here has reawakened, radiating brilliance.
"Whoosh!" At this moment, a thick white death beam from the Reaper’s Scythe shot upwards, piercing through the dome of the Hall of Extinction, into the sky of the Dead Star outside, illuminating the entire Dead Star in a stark white.
