Heroes' Prison
Chapter 1804 - 1722: Altar of Life and Death
At this moment, the Three Realms were in turmoil, and the source of all this was the King of Hell.
After the King of Hell, the former Master of the Mortal World, achieved Divine Enthronement, he found the Barbarian God of the Demon Realm, wanting to join forces against the God of Destiny of the Divine Realm.
Subsequently, the God of Destiny contacted the current Master of the Mortal World, the God of Slaughter, who went to the Temple of Fate, attracting the attention of the three Supreme Gods.
The God of Life also sought out the Underworld King and Styx Queen of the Underworld to discuss major affairs.
All of a sudden, the Three Realms were embroiled together, like ripples on the water surface causing waves to spread layer by layer, eventually linking with each other, brewing a massive change.
Yun was a central figure in this whirlpool, but he did not yet know that his entrance into the Temple of Fate would create such a stir among the other Supreme Gods.
He did not receive any enlightenment during that trip, but he did obtain answers he desired, confirming one of his speculations.
That day, the Hero Empire finally gathered a sufficient quantity of Time Flower Fruit, and Yun could finally deal with the Xuanhuang Worm.
He led five Reaper’s Envoys to an island on Dead Star.
This island was located in a black sea filled with dense dark clouds and furious winds. The island was lush with green trees, vibrant and full of life, emitting a bright pale green glow, in stark contrast to the gloomy ocean outside.
Yun and the five envoys went straight to the center of the island, where ruins were located. The buildings here had all collapsed recently, freshly showing signs of devastation from the Barbarian God leading the Hordes of Demons to attack Dead Star.
In the northwest corner of these ruins was an altar shrouded in gray-white mist, with ancient patterns underneath. The gray-white mist emanated from these patterns, full of mystery.
This altar was called the Life and Death Altar, where spell casting could cause a life to die and then be resurrected. After becoming the Reincarnation of the Death God, Yun gained the right to use this altar.
After resurrection, the soul undergoes baptism, and all signed contracts can be removed, equivalent to the effect of a bottle of Pact of Water, only more complex and time-consuming to operate.
But the Xuanhuang Worm was worth this effort for Yun.
Yun immediately took out the Xuanhuang Worm; it quietly lay in his palm like a palm-sized Little Dragon, its eyelids drooping, devoid of spirit.
Since it cut off contact with the Poison Master, it had been this way, looking sickly.
Yun placed it on the altar, where it was immediately engulfed by the thick gray-white mist.
"Quick, chant the Life and Death Curse!" Yun said to the five Reaper’s Envoys.
The five Reaper’s Envoys immediately stood in different positions, surrounding the altar, and began chanting a strange and obscure melody.
As they chanted, the patterns on the altar lit up, and the floating gray-white mist began to stir and turn up and down.
Yun took out the Supreme God Instrument—the Scythe of Death—and slashed at the Xuanhuang Worm.
"Poof~" A faint sound of cutting echoed, as the Xuanhuang Worm was sliced into two segments by the Scythe of Death, completely dying.
The gray-white mist suddenly boiled, seeming to have found a breakthrough, diving into the two segments of the Xuanhuang Worm’s body, making the altar increasingly clear.
This gray-white mist had accumulated over countless years, trapped within this altar, unable to disperse.
It was indeed the strength of the altar; without this gray-white mist, the altar could not function.
Once the mist was consumed, it would take a good while for the altar to release enough mist again to revive a life.
The Xuanhuang Worm was an extraordinary creature, incredibly strong, consuming a great deal of gray-white mist.
The mist, accumulated over countless years, gradually fully penetrated the two segments of the Xuanhuang Worm’s body, exerting the mysterious power of death upon the soul within, beginning the baptism.
Yun sat cross-legged in the center of the altar and also chanted the Life and Death Curse, merging with the curses of the surrounding five Reaper’s Envoys, where he led and the others assisted.
He shook his palm, immediately took out a handful of Time Flower Fruit, and swallowed them.
This soul baptism was very time-consuming, and Yun could not wait that long, so he used the Time Flower Fruit to shorten the time and accelerate the spell’s effect.
As the Time Flower Fruit entered his stomach one after another, the effects of the Life and Death Curse he recited accelerated greatly, taking effect almost immediately, whereas it would have been slow otherwise.
"Roar!" Quickly, a Giant Dragon steamed out of the body, surrounded by gray-white mist, rushing to the sky.
It flaunted its grandeur, swaying its head and tail, the dragon danced across the Nine Heavens, its huge body overshadowing the sky.
This Xuanhuang Worm was indeed an Eastern dragon, and now that its soul was baptized, it could display its true form.
After roaming the sky for a while, it returned to its smaller size, descended, and rejoined the two segments of the Xuanhuang Worm’s body.
The two segments quickly fused, the wounds swiftly healed, becoming a complete Xuanhuang Worm again, finally opening its eyes, a toxic green light flashing within.
With this, the Xuanhuang Worm was free from the Poison Master’s Master-Servant Contract, becoming unowned.
Yun immediately beckoned with his hand!
The Xuanhuang Worm was instantly controlled by a force, forcibly flying toward Yun’s palm.
It struggled fiercely, snapping its Dragon’s Mouth, swinging its Dragon Tail, clawing with its Dragon Claws, producing immense power to resist Yun, breaking free from his control, leaping up and escaping the altar.
"Little guy has quite some strength!" Yun nodded and praised aloud.
This Xuanhuang Worm only appeared the size of an insect, but the power it exerted was enormous, even breaking free from Yun’s control.
Yun immediately flapped the Sun-Chasing Dragon’s Wings, blinked to the front of the distant Xuanhuang Worm, and reached out to seize it.
The Xuanhuang Worm was captured in his palm, unable to move.
It struggled mightily, clawing with its Dragon Claws, slicing through Yun’s palm, causing blood to ooze. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Become my servant, and I can guarantee you eternal life and undying," Yun said, immediately controlling the blood flowing from the wound to enter the Xuanhuang Worm’s body.
The blood contained the Power of the Contract, forcibly signing a Master-Servant Contract with the Xuanhuang Worm.
The Xuanhuang Worm struggled for a while, then finally submitted, obediently crawling in his palm, surrendering to him.
With this, it became Yun’s contracted servant, sharing Yun’s life, and as long as Yun remained undying, it would not die.
And Yun, mastering the Rule of Death, already had an Immortal Body, so the Xuanhuang Worm also became undying.
Once it burrowed into an enemy’s body, no matter how strong the enemy was, they could not kill it, only eternally enduring its bites and venom.
