Chapter 1808 - 1726: Devour the Slaughter Blade
Although the system had already determined the Hell Demon Sword to be Huang Yi’s spoils, this Demon Sword was still the life-bound Divine Artifact of the King of Hell, who could exert significant influence over it.
If the King of Hell’s power far surpassed Huang Yi’s, he might even reclaim the Demon Sword, just as the Dark Demon Dragon Molei once reclaimed the Magic Dragon Wings from the Heavenly Demon.
But now, since the power difference between Huang Yi and the King of Hell is negligible, the King of Hell can only influence the Demon Sword, not seize it.
Huang Yi wanted to isolate the influence of the King of Hell, so he could only modify the Demon Sword as much as possible to greatly weaken its connection to the King of Hell.
The Slaughter Blade was his own Divine Artifact, and when its Artifact Spirit was devoured by the Demon Sword, a portion of the strength belonging solely to Huang Yi was embedded in the Demon Sword, giving him deeper control over it.
With a wave of his palm, he immediately pulled out the Slaughter Blade and made it hover in the air.
Then he stabbed the tip of the Hell Demon Sword into the Slaughter Blade’s body, using the Artifact Skill "Soul Devouring."
Soon, a stream of black energy gushed out from the tip of the Demon Sword, spreading over the Slaughter Blade like tar.
The Slaughter Blade trembled violently, instinctively resisting, but Huang Yi subdued its resistance, allowing it to be completely covered by the tar-like substance, turning it into a pitch-black Great Sword.
Before long, the tar-like material began to retract back into the Hell Demon Sword.
As they retracted, fine red threads were pulled from the Slaughter Blade. After losing these threads, the Slaughter Blade became dull, as if transformed from a divine weapon to ordinary iron.
Once all the black material retracted into the Hell Demon Sword, the Slaughter Blade lost its radiant splendor. Its Artifact Spirit had been consumed by the Demon Sword, leaving only the material and reducing it to a broken Divine Artifact.
The Hell Demon Sword, on the other hand, became even more dazzling. It hadn’t devoured just any ordinary Artifact Spirit but that of a Main God Instrument of equal caliber.
Huang Yi quickly checked the attributes of the Hell Demon Sword and indeed found some effects of the Slaughter Blade included.
Among them, "causing continuous bleeding to the enemy upon hitting" and "absorbing the enemy’s blood to convert it into his own health points" were retained exactly as in the original Slaughter Blade.
The most distinctive attribute of the Slaughter Blade—"absorb the soul of a Void God and increase the user’s all attributes by 10%"—was merged and upgraded with the Demon Sword’s soul absorption capability.
Each Deity’s soul within the Hell Demon Sword can increase the user’s all attributes by 10%, with no upper limit in stacking and no requirements on the user.
The condition for this attribute became more stringent, ascending from Void God Souls to Deities’ Souls, but the advantage is that it can be effective for Huang Yi, who has the strength of a Main God.
Just now, among the souls absorbed by the Hell Demon Sword in the Hall of the Undead, there were 12 Deities’ Souls, which increased all of Huang Yi’s attributes more than double.
However, the Slaughter Blade’s Artifact Skill—[Eternal Wings], which summons Tyrant Possession, was not inherited by the Demon Sword.
But this doesn’t matter, as this skill had become useless for Huang Yi; inheriting it would only occupy a skill slot.
Huang Yi swung the Hell Demon Sword a few times and immediately felt it more handy, as it now contained a Main God Instrument Spirit unique to him.
Of course, to further isolate the influence of the King of Hell, he could use the Nefalem Skill [Reverse of Gods and Demons] to reverse the Hell Demon Sword into a Holy Elements’ equipment, but his Power of the Nefalem was almost depleted, so he dismissed the thought.
...
Demon Realm, Shadow Demon Temple.
"Boom!" The temple’s gate was forcefully blasted open by a surge of brute force, and a towering figure strode in, hands stained with blood, and bits of a Divine Envoy’s flesh clinging to his body, as if he had fought his way directly in.
The light streaming in from outside outlined a menacing silhouette on him, with six arms brimming with immense Strength, unmistakably the Barbarian God.
"Shadow Demon Sovereign, I clearly issued a call, but you didn’t respond. What happened?" the Barbarian God spoke roughly, striding to the end of the temple in front of the throne, questioning the figure seated on it.
Though he stood below the throne, appearing from a lower servant’s perspective, at that moment, he seemed to be looking down upon the Deity on the throne.
"I have been in seclusion recently and didn’t hear any news." On the throne sat a Demon God shrouded in shadow.
He was filled with the aura of a supreme Demon Sovereign, but in the presence of the Barbarian God, he slightly recoiled his head, forced to maintain a semblance of calm.
"Alright! I’ll repeat it to you myself — join me in waging war against the Temple of Fate in the Divine Realm. Of course, you can refuse me, and see if the God of Slaughter will truly spare your life." The Barbarian God’s voice echoed.
The Shadow Demon Sovereign’s mind instantly flashed with myriad thoughts.
Previously, on the Dead Star, Huang Yi had promised to spare their lives, so these Demon Gods had thoughts of defying the Barbarian God.
But now, with time passed, everyone had returned to their respective temples, too far from Huang Yi, and no one dared to gamble their lives to test if Huang Yi would keep his promise.
In front of the Barbarian God’s power, escaping with one’s divinity is difficult, and reviving through it is even harder. If Huang Yi does not spare their lives, they will be eternally doomed.
"Alright, I’ll go!" Finally, the Shadow Demon Sovereign bowed his noble head.
He dared not gamble with his life, so he decided to temporarily placate the Barbarian God and see the situation at the Temple of Fate.
"Follow me!" The Barbarian God sneered, turning and striding away.
In recent days, he had visited many Demon Gods’ divine nations, threatening them with his formidable power to once again pledge allegiance to him.
The Shadow Demon Sovereign quickly stepped down from his noble throne and obediently followed behind the Barbarian God, leaving together.
When they returned to the Temple of the Barbarian God, numerous Demon Gods had already gathered inside, each mythical figure standing together, forming a powerful Demon God legion.
The Barbarian God walked through the crowd, seated himself arrogantly on the throne of the temple, overlooking the multitude of Demon Gods below, saying, "Our journey to the Temple of Fate is not just about us. We are merely the aides; the true key player is the King of Hell. We are merely assisting him in this war."
"What?! The King of Hell!"
"He aims to accomplish such a feat as soon as he is divinely enthroned?"
"Such is the style of the Master of the Mortal World!"
For a moment, the Demon Gods were in awe; they had already perceived the grand commotion during the King of Hell’s divine enthronement, yet didn’t expect to be fighting side by side so quickly.
"I understand you don’t fully comply with me, but this time I’ve got incentives for you." The Barbarian God continued, his tone softening, "Once this war is won, the ’Book of Fate’ will fall into my hands. I can allow each of you to glimpse your own destiny. Few have succeeded in infiltrating the Temple of Fate before, but if you are willing to fight tooth and nail in this war, every one of you will know your destiny."
Upon hearing this, the Demon Gods were immediately tempted.

The following text comes at no additional charge:
This volume is finished, the setting portion is finally complete, the protagonist has made all kinds of preparations, and the next step is the final volume, focusing on the Destiny War, the last grand plot.
Actually, just by looking at the style of Chapter titles, everyone can tell that when I write setup Chapters, the content tends to be plain, hence the simplistic and short Chapter titles.
But when it comes to significant plot points, the Chapter titles tend to be long and extravagant, trying to cater to sensationalism, like "Creating Myth! The God of Slaughter Surprisingly Slays Such an Important Figure!" "Shocking! The King of Hell Surprisingly Has This Move!" "Oh Heavens! What an Outrageous Chapter Title!" Something like that.
Many people ask why I title Chapters this way. Because some readers tend to skip around, some Chapters they won’t read, and to cater to their reading experience, I later put some thought into the Chapter titles, finding ways to highlight which Chapters are critical and must not be skipped.
Some readers then ask, since some Chapters aren’t important, why not remove them?
This is indeed unavoidable because crucial scenes need early groundwork and foreshadowing. You must invest time upfront to lay the groundwork, to prepare the protagonist, so readers remember these foreshadows, so that when the climax hits, these foreshadows reveal with strength, logically and systematically. An Ultimate Move cannot just appear out of nowhere; it hasn’t been mentioned before, then suddenly conjured up—this would be too far-fetched.
Therefore, those readers who skip will not have a strong reaction even if they reach the climax scenes.
Previously, some believed Huang Yi and the King of Hell’s battle would be the ending. After the King of Hell’s divine enthronement, some even cursed at me on QQ, accusing me of a botched finale. I felt inexplicably puzzled; that clearly wasn’t the conclusion yet, with so many pits unfilled, surely there would be content about the Heaven Realm to be written.
The scale of the battle indicates as much; the prior ultimate showdown between Huang Yi and the King of Hell was only a duel of the Mortal Realm’s two strongest individuals, defining the Master of the Mortal World, a duel in essence (Huang Yi and over 9 billion players solo against the King of Hell), a scale only involving the Mortal Realm, and such a battle lacks the weight to conclude the entire book.
Whereas the final Destiny War is the concluding battle—not a conflict between Huang Yi and the King of Hell, but an immense battle involving all the major figures across the Three Realms, where all remaining foreshadows will be unveiled. Once this Destiny War is fought, all pits will be filled, naturally leading to the grand finale.
