To say it was a struggle for Jenny and the girls to get me in a dress would be and understatement. I didn’t want to wear a dress to my Luna ceremony but here I am. The dress was simple, short, black and a moon crescent on my chest. I actually loved it. Not that I would tell them that.

The knee high boots I was wearing brought a wow factor too. We were in Jenny’s room in the pack house getting ready. Jenny was wearing a long pink strapless dress, Natasha was in a long white dress with a slit that stopped in her hip, Caroline was in a long red halter neck dress and Eve was in a short light green strapless dress.

They all looked absolutely beautiful. So did I. My hair was curled and Jenny did my make up giving me a smokey eye. I loved it all. The Luna ceremony was to be done during a dinner for the whole pack in the warehouse in the forest. I was nervous. The ceremony had already started.

"Come on Gemma. We have to go." Jenny whined. I’d been keeping them here. I was not going alone.

"I can’t do this. What was I thinking?" I asked myself.

"You were thinking you loved your mate who thinks we are going to stand him up!" Eve shouted crossing her arms.

She had not eaten in hours.

"Ok. Let’s go." Natasha said throwing me over her shoulder.

I yelped in surprise as the others sighed in relief. I didn’t fight Natasha because I was being silly. It’s just a ceremony.

She walked out to the snow. I was grateful for the warmth that came from being a werewolf and the fact that the ceremony would be in the nice and toasty warehouse. I was placed on my feet in front of the doors.

’Here goes nothing.’ Winter said.

I nodded and opened the door. I gasped at the sight in front of me. The decorations had been hidden from me so seeing how beautiful everything was touched my heart.

"Do you like it?" I heard Conner say from behind me. I quickly turned and gave him the biggest smile I could master.

"I love it." I said.

He moved closer, placing his hands on my hips. "And I love you." He said. I gave him a small kiss on the lips as he dragged me towards the stage. He tapped on the microphone, getting everyone’s attention.

"Thank you all for coming and being here. I want to introduce you all to Gemma Frost, your Luna." He said ushering me to the microphone. Inside, I was dying because of being in front of all these people. Outside, I was sporting a smile.

"Hello everyone. I’m not good at speeches and I know we all just want to eat..." That earned me a few chuckles. "but all I would like to say is I hope you all accept me as your Luna. I promise to love and cherish all in the pack. And... I think that’s all. Thank you and have a nice meal." I ended. Everyone clapped as Conner and I went off the stage.

"That was... nice?" Conner said.

"Don’t." I resorted sitting down at our table.

"Hey, you were great." Conner said. I nodded and have him a small smile.

"Rogues!" I heard someone shout.

My body instantly went into battle mode. "Rogues? How did they get past the boarders?" I asked.

"Let’s go find out." Conner said running out.

"Jace, Ash take care of the people in here. Guard the door with Eve and Car. Jenny keep the children calm." I said running after Conner.

"Yes Luna." They said scurrying off to do their work. It was my big day now we have rogues. How typical. It’s like the goddess wants a soap opera or something. Outside the warehouse was a large group of rogues and leading them was... Gary? He was the head of boarder control.

"Gary what are you doing?" Conner snarled.

"I’m getting revenge for my mate! The one you killed!" Gary shouted.

"She tried to harm your Beta female! She deserved what she got!" Conner said calmly.

"No she didn’t! She was misguided by the Beta’s advances! She loved me she just didn’t know it yet! Now I’ll take from you what you took from me!" Gary shouted. His breath was making fog in the snowy winter air as I could practically see the spit coming out of his mouth. Ew.

"Look um... Gary. I was not here when all that happened but what I do know is that Jace does not make moves on anyone. I mean I’ve seen the guy with Car and he’s soft and all but only for his mate. Yours didn’t love you. Why don’t you just go inside and have a turkey or something mate. " I said sassily. I had no time for patience for this shit! Like open your eyes man!

"You will not speak of Georgia that way! Rogues attack!" Gary shouted. Oh well. I tried.

I took a running start to the woods leaving Conner behind. The rogues followed me.

Gemma what are you doing? Conner mind linked me.

They want me so I’ll lead them away. Kill Gary and follow from behind taking them out one at a time. The others can help too. Just get Natasha and the warriors to protect the pack. I mind linked back. It was a better plan than any. I sensed Conner’s reluctance.

I’ll be fine. Go. I encouraged.

He went. I run through the forest, branches scratching at me. Some wolves came at me but I dodged them all.

Soon, I came to the cliff. Shit! I should’ve tracked where I was headed. Stopping, I turned to fight. Grabbing a dagger from my boot, I cut into every wolf that came to me. I was putting up a good fight but the wolves were too many. They kept pushing me back! I don’t know how much longer I could keep this up.

Soon, my feet were practically at the edge.

"Gemma!" I heard the shout of Conner. I looked to the woods for a split second to search for him but it was a second enough for one of the rogues to push me off the cliff. It felt like slow motion as my body tilted backwards and I begin to fall. Seconds turned into hours as my body descended to the ice covered lake below.

"GEMMA!" Was the last thing I heard before my body broke through the ice, landing in the cold dark depths of the lake below.

Conner’s POV

Killing Gary wasn’t all that hard. Just a snap to the neck and he was gone. I gathered the others as we killed rogues that were following Gemma. I realised the path Gemma was on was leading to the lake cliff. My senses went into overload. She could be cornered. I quickly passed some rogues as I raced to get to Gemma.

I saw her battling a brown wolf.

"Gemma!" I called. I saw her head snap up to look for me at the sound of my voice. Next thing I know, Gemma’s body is tilting backwards over the cliff.

My body moved forward faster than I have it credit for towards her.

"GEMMA!" I shouted. I looked over the cliff, only to see her body break through the ice in the lake and disappear from my sight. I roared. They hurt Gemma! Kill them!

My eyes flashed gold as I turned back to the rogues who cowered at the sight of me. I growled from deep in my throat causing vibrations to shake the earth.

Shadows came from the dark forest and killed the rogues one my one. Tearing them to shreds. Entering their mouths and creating spikes that tore their bodies.

"Go get Gemma! We got this!" Eve shouted at me. She turned back and used lightning to blow up a wolf. I nodded and run down the cliff.
