Hogwarts: Bloodline Legend
Chapter 790 - 220: Ian! Danger! Identity Exposure Warning!
In this tranquil valley, a gentle breeze brushed past, making the surrounding grass rustle softly. Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting dappled shadows amidst the forest.
This ought to be a scene of utmost beauty, yet the little wizard could find no peace within, after all, he had heard that exceedingly familiar name from Leonard Dumbledore's lips.
Ariana Dumbledore! Even though Ariana was the person who had accompanied him the longest in this world, Ian really never expected to hear this name in this era!
"You... you said who your ancestor was?" Ian's voice was slightly tremulous, tinged with a hint of uncertainty and shock, his eyes widened as if they might leap out of their sockets, as though he had heard something unbelievable. He really had to confirm with Leonard once more.
Otherwise, he would truly suspect that there was something wrong with his ears.
"Are you sure it was Ariana Dumbledore? You didn't remember wrong?" Before Leonard could respond, Ian uttered again, enunciating clearly.
His rather "reactive" response indeed left Leonard somewhat puzzled. Meanwhile, Merlin turned to glance at Ian again, his eyes flickering with a touch of inquiry and contemplation. He noted Ian's extremely unusual reaction, sparking layers of doubt and conjecture in his mind.
However, Ian at this moment could completely ignore Merlin's gaze, his mind filled with the name Ariana, familiar yet rendered exceptionally abrupt under the current circumstances.
"Of course I wouldn't remember wrong."
Leonard Dumbledore stood before him, his expression calm and resolute. The phoenix on his shoulder gently flapped its wings, its golden-red feathers glistening brilliantly under the sun.
His gaze was fixed on Ian, with not the slightest hesitation in his tone: "How could I forget the family tree? Before the family was destroyed, every ancestor had their own portrait."
"I still remember my father introducing me to each ancestor, and my ancestor Ariana was a rather shy one, her portrait even reminded me to eat less sugar, otherwise I'd get cavities." Leonard's expression was filled with memories, not only of his past but also of the sadness of remembering his father.
He hadn't practiced magic, and naturally couldn't have learned Occlumency, so every emotion rising within was exposed to Ian's perception.
"Is that really true..."
Ian's heart was like a turbulent sea, his throat felt as though something were obstructing it, a nameless emotion surging within his chest.
Absurd and strange.
Imbued with an unreal sense of magic.
He couldn't help but think, perhaps in his tomb, he fell victim to some attack, making everything now just a nonsensical figment of his Illusion Realm.
Thinking of this.
Ian couldn't help but raise his hand to rub his temples, trying to calm himself. His gaze inadvertently drifted to Merlin beside him, only to find Merlin looking at him with a meaningful gaze. Merlin's eyes narrowed slightly, with a tinge of inquiry and contemplation, as though attempting to read something from Ian's reaction.
"I think it might not be what I imagine... right." Ian himself didn't know what Merlin was trying to read, his mind swirling with thoughts and possibilities.
"Perhaps it's just the same name after all." Ian took a deep breath, resolved not to hesitate, he pulled out his magic wand and raised his hand to cast that spell—Summoning God Guardian.
Since Leonard had seen the ancestor's portrait, that presumably would be the best way to verify whether it was just a coincidence.
Only to see.
The surrounding air seemed to tremble slightly because of his action, the tip of the magic wand began to flash with a silver radiance, gradually weaving into threads in the air to create a vague outline.
The magic began to take shape.
Silver threads like agile elves shuttled and weaved in the air, gradually converging into a humanoid figure. Moments later, Ariana from the Misty Illusion Realm appeared before everyone. Her figure was as light as moonlight, emanating a gentle glow, blending with the surrounding natural environment yet appearing especially striking.
Who knows if it was a coincidence.
After Ariana appeared, the environment around them seemed to be affected by some mysterious force. The originally gentle breeze gradually became faster, making the surrounding trees rustle. Even the sunlight appeared to dim a little, clouds began to slowly gather, casting a shadow over the valley.
Like some kind of concealment.
The light dimmed significantly, though not to the extent of being pitch dark. Ian looked up, feeling this situation very familiar. Just two days ago, hundreds of years ago in this world, the Fierce Goddess, whose name he hadn't had time to ask, had done something similar.
However, now this situation didn't seem to be man-made.
Ian was thoughtful.
Meanwhile.
"This? This?? This???" Merlin's eyes widened slightly, filled with an incredulous look. His fingers trembled slightly, as if wanting to say something, yet ultimately no sound came out. His gaze flitted between Ian and Ariana, as if trying to comprehend all that was unfolding before him.
"Ian, you summoned me again?" Ariana's voice was soft, as if coming from afar. She stood before Ian, tilting her head slightly, a faint smile playing at the corners of her lips, "Are you still in ancient times? Is there somewhere you need my help, huh, why does this place feel somewhat familiar?"
