I Awakened An Outer God Class
Chapter 57: Coincidence
The lady with mature charms and a maid uniform smiled slightly.
"I presume you are the one living here." She said, her voice melodious.
"...Yes." Mikhail replied, nodding his head. "How may I help you?"
"My master will be sharing this room with you." She replied with the same smile. "I just came to inspect before he arrives."
Mikhail frowned and gave the lady a deep look. ’It doesn’t look like she is lying...’
With her body language, it was clear to him that the lady was relaxed and had no signs of tension.
’Either she is really good at hiding her emotions or she doesn’t have any plans to harm me.’
Mikhail slowly opened the door fully before allowing her inside.
"Thank you." The lady said and entered.
She looked at the room that was already open and then at the room that was closed.
Without saying a word, she walked towards the closed room and opened it.
Mikhail slowly walked towards the kitchen and picked up a knife from the shelf.
’It would be nice if I had my spears here.’
Bringing any type of weapon on the train was against the rules of the kingdom.
Unless you were an official hunter, weapons in public places were not allowed and could lead to up to two years in jail.
Taking in a short breath, Mikhail carefully placed the knife in the main hall before walking towards the newly opened room.
The maid had already started her work. She was cleaning the place and making the bed like it was her daily routine.
But the way she moved made Mikhail frown. ’She isn’t really a professional...’
The lady was making too many mistakes that Mikhail couldn’t ignore.
"Are you new to this work?" He asked in a soft tone.
The lady paused before letting out an embarrassed smile. "Yeah...I was a teacher before I switched to being a maid."
’She switched her job?’ Mikhail gave her a perplexed look. ’Doesn’t a teacher earn more than a maid, or did she become a personal maid?’
Suddenly Mikhail realised something. ’I remember there is a no personal servant policy in the university. How come there is a maid here?’
Looking back at the clumsy maid, Mikhail asked gently. "Madam, who might your master be?"
As if on cue, the door of room 333 opened softly.
Mikhail turned to look at the person who walked inside. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
He was a young man around the same age as him, around 5’11 with a robust body type.
He had dark black hair like the night and golden eyes that looked like the sun.
Mikhail had seen him in newspapers and magazines.
He was the most likely candidate for the next ruler of the Aegon Kingdom — the golden prince, Valkor Aegon.
Just as Mikhail was looking at him, Valkor was also looking back at him with a haughty expression.
He behaved like Mikhail wasn’t even present before he glanced at the maid.
The harsh expression on his face bloomed into a deep smile of a young man in love.
He said in a deep voice. "You don’t have to do all this, Teacher Odette."
The mature lady walked out of the room and met the young prince in the hall.
"I chose this path to be with you, Prince." She said in a gentle tone. "I would do anything to be with you."
As if they had collectively decided to ignore Mikhail, they hugged each other.
’....’
Suddenly Mikhail remembered the gossip he had heard from Ronda, Sir Daniel’s secretary.
Prince Valkor was in love with his widowed teacher and was planning to marry her, ignoring the tradition of the church deciding the king’s wife.
Mikhail, who was watching the scene unfold in front of him, couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.
’Oh boy, this kingdom is heading towards destruction. Look after us, Goddess Moon.’
He drew a crescent moon on his chest as if in prayer.
The prince noticed his action and let go of the maid.
He walked towards Mikhail and said in a threatening tone.
"Whoever you are, stay away from my Odette." His voice oozed possessiveness. "Otherwise death will be the least of your worries."
Mikhail gave the prince an amused look which the prince interpreted as docile.
He grunted and walked towards his room while the maid gave Mikhail an apologetic smile.
Mikhail let out a tired sigh. ’Why am I getting entangled in all these weird things...’
He was having his own doubts after his sudden encounter with the prince.
It could be said that in the first two years Mikhail had spent in this world, he had never met a single noble.
And just after a month of his awakening, he was sharing a room with the prince.
’Is my class really the problem?’ He couldn’t help but grumble inwardly.
’No, perhaps it’s not my class...’
Mikhail shifted his gaze to the finger on his right hand.
It was the same finger that had been damaged when he found the coffin of Robin Varbin.
At the same time, Mikhail had also bound with an [Artifact of Destruction].
Thinking about it, Mikhail couldn’t help but recall the general knowledge about Artifacts.
’There is no Artifact in this world that doesn’t have negative effects....’
Even though it couldn’t be anything more than just paranoia, Mikhail couldn’t keep his thoughts straight.
He began to wonder if there was any connection between his current situation and the Artifact.
’I should keep an eye on it.’ He thought, walking inside his room.
Methew was already lazing around on his bed.
Thinking about the Artifact, Mikhail couldn’t help but remember Robin’s family.
’I wonder how they are doing....’
---
[City of Sparrows.]
In his ordinary looking office, slightly cluttered with unarranged books and files, Daniel Smith sat on his reclining chair reading a document.
Since Mikhail had gone, Daniel had been finding himself in quite a dilemma.
On one hand, he wanted a new assistant. On the other, he didn’t.
He was sure that if he found an inexperienced person, he would only be disappointed.
’I should still look for new buds that I can water.’
Thinking about Mikhail’s exponential growth under him, a smile curled on his lips.
Daniel had done his best to make sure Mikhail didn’t neglect his detective work.
It was a stubborn part of him that wanted to see Mikhail surpass all his previous achievements.
’I just hope he doesn’t get entangled with the royal family like me...’
He couldn’t help but sigh when he thought about the bastards who ruled the kingdom.
Just as he was about to turn the page, the office door slammed open.
Police officer Mr. Brown walked inside with a grave look on his face.
"We have a problem." He said before Daniel could speak.
"What is it?" Sensing the tense atmosphere, Daniel straightened his back.
"Do you remember the case of Robin Varbin?" The officer asked grimly.
Daniel nodded, his heart skipping a beat. "What happened?"
"His entire family and relatives..."
He spoke with horror and confusion in his voice.
"They have all been found dead."
