I Became the Eye Candy: Four Bigshots Claimed to be My Dad?
Chapter 453: Fine, Call the Authorities
Xiang Minghou’s resignation was terrific news for East Shu.
"Go ahead, call the authorities. We’ll see who they arrest then." Ye Qianning planted her little hands on her hips, defiant.
"Someone, go report this to the authorities." Chu Yue couldn’t be bothered to waste her breath on a child.
"Yes."
The guard acknowledged the order.
Seeing this, Manager Song rushed forward to intervene. "Honored guest, she’s just a child who doesn’t know any better. There’s no need to call the authorities."
"I have paid to book this entire restaurant, yet someone insists on forcing their way in. I don’t care if she’s an adult or a child. If she doesn’t understand the rules, then let the Beili authorities teach her."
"Honored guest, please calm down. Allow me to try and persuade her." Manager Song bowed obsequiously, then turned and squatted down. "Miss Xiang, could you please come back in about four hours? It’ll be my treat then."
"Don’t be afraid, Manager Song. If she wants to call the authorities, let her. Who’s afraid of who? She’s a princess from East Shu, hosting foreign envoys here in Beili. Who knows what ulterior motives she has? Let the authorities come and investigate properly. They can teach *her* a thing or two about the rules."
Manager Song was terrified. He didn’t need to turn around to know how frightening the look on the Princess of East Shu’s face must be.
"What did you say?" Chu Yue’s face darkened.
Seeing her take the bait, Ye Qianning grew even more smug. "At Lou Mountain Academy, I read in a classic text that women are forbidden from interfering in court politics. As unruly as I may be, I still remember that. Surely the Princess of East Shu must know this too? You clearly know the rule, yet you still insist on hosting foreign envoys. Isn’t that knowingly breaking the law? Or perhaps... women in East Shu *are* allowed to meddle in politics?"
Chu Yue’s expression was ghastly. She clenched her jaw, rendered utterly speechless by a child’s questioning.
Manager Song didn’t dare to breathe. ’This little girl’s tongue is truly sharp.’
"What are you gawking at? Hurry up and call the authorities," Ye Qianning urged the guard.
The guard who had just acknowledged the order didn’t dare move. His eyes darted to his master.
"Today’s banquet is just an ordinary dinner, not a discussion of state affairs," Chu Yue said coldly. "Don’t think you can spout nonsense just because you’re the daughter of a General."
"If it’s just an ordinary dinner, then why are you stopping me from looking for someone?"
"You..."
"My master, the Prince, invites Miss Xiang upstairs." A guard accompanying Prince Yu came down from the floor above, interrupting Chu Yue’s furious rebuke.
Ye Qianning smirked at Chu Yue.
Chu Yue seethed with frustration.
"Miss Xiang, if you please."
Ye Qianning lifted her chin, planted her hands on her hips, and strode through the entrance of Immortal’s Drunkenness. She then ascended the stairs with her short, little steps.
A dark cloud hung over Chu Yue’s face. She turned and followed them upstairs.
’The banquet has barely begun, we haven’t even started our discussions, and now this eyesore shows up.’
The guard led Ye Qianning to the fourth floor and pushed open a door. "Please, after you."
Ye Qianning stepped into the private room. It was vast, clearly a suite reserved for entertaining important guests. The interior resembled a large drawing room, with seating arranged in the formal style of a nobleman’s banquet.
Each guest had their own table, with the host’s seat at the head of the room.
The moment she entered, she spotted Helian Chen waving at her. The little guy was clearly delighted to see her.
"Fatty!" Helian Chen called out.
Beside him, Prince Yu shot him a glare. "She is the General’s daughter."
Helian Chen feigned deafness and beckoned Ye Qianning over.
As Ye Qianning walked over, she noticed Xiliu Yuan sitting across from Prince Yu.
Xiliu Yuan gave her a brief, indifferent glance before looking away.
"What took you so long to get up here?" Helian Chen asked.
Ye Qianning sat down next to him. "You knew I was coming?"
"I saw your carriage from a distance just now. I waited forever but you never came up, so I was starting to wonder. It was my Imperial Uncle who said the Princess of East Shu booked out Immortal’s Drunkenness today and that you might have been stopped at the door."
