"D-Class beasts, huh? Killing each one can give me a monster core worth 1,000,000 Qi. 4 more, and I can have one more breakthrough. Three more breakthroughs and I can reach the D-Class knight level. But they are really troublesome. One mistake and death is going to kiss me without a doubt. But if I want to get stronger in these two weeks, then I must take the risk." Leon was whispering to himself. "Tomorrow, either it will be D-class monsters or at least the stronger E-Class ones."

Emily went back without asking any questions. Leon stood outside the cave, guarding. "Looks like today there will be no random mission. And I don’t even want one. So much for that lollipop I got yesterday." His veins bulged as he remembered yesterday’s scene. Two hours passed soon. Leon walked inside and woke up Sol. Today, Emily was sleeping beside Sol again, but Leon didn’t even dare to look at her, much less keep staring.

As Sol took Leon’s post, he returned beside Noah.

He sat in lotus position, intending to start cultivating again. ’After I became a cultivator, I noticed one thing. I don’t feel like I am sleeping less. I didn’t sleep for a second yesterday. Today, I had been hunting for the whole day. Yet I am not feeling drowsy at all. But should I sleep for a bit now or cultivate?’ After pondering for a while, he started cultivating anyway as if it had become an addiction.

One hour.

Two hours.

Three hours.

Leon continued to cultivate for four hours nonstop. And by then... It was already morning again.

After breakfast, Leon followed yesterday’s routine. He went straight hunting.

As he was walking, he met two giant orcs. Same as the dungeon boss in his special mission. But these two were carrying hammers instead of a cleaver.

"Found you. These two are at least peak E-Class level monsters or maybe even D-class. Not like those weak F-class orcs I killed yesterday, which gave me only 40,000 Qi each."

Leon didn’t waste a single second and charged toward them. He didn’t even try to suppress the sound of his movements.

Both the orcs reacted instantly. The first one swung its hammer. Leon jumped and dodged it, but the second hammer came without delay and slammed into him.

Whoosh! Leon was sent flying.

"Blarrghhh!" Blood sprayed as he crashed into a thick tree.

"Damn it! I couldn’t even take a single hit. Looks like I need to think of a way to increase my HP, too."

The orcs were already on the move. One swung its hammer again. Leon ducked his head at the last moment, barely.

The hammer struck the tree, breaking it in half. Leon felt it. Just the pressure from the hammer pressed his body down.

"I am dead if I take a single one of those anymore."

Leon rolled down to the side and struck its calf. The other one also swung. But Leon moved faster.

A clash broke out. One against two. And Leon clearly was on the losing side. But not for long. He pushed his speed to the maximum and continued to dodge and attack at the same time. After continuously attacking one orc’s calf, he finally immobilized one of them.

The other one threw a kick. Leon barely dodged and was thrown to the dust. But he got up quickly and lunged at the standing one.

The orc swung its hammer hard. Whoosh! It cut through the air dangerously.

Leon leapt back at the last moment, the edge of the hammer’s surface grazing his cloths.

Leon landed on the ground and skidded back. He pressed his legs to the ground and stopped himself. Then he shot forward again.

The orc struck again. Leon directly jumped forward this time. Seeing its attack fail, the orc threw a punch.

Leon used his hand against the punch to move his body to the side while in mid-air. He spun and swung the sword.

Thud!

The blade didn’t decapitate the monster, but it successfully embedded in the flesh.

"Graaaahhhh!" The green giant howled in pain and jerked its body, throwing Leon away.

Leon had pulled the sword with him. He didn’t waste a single second and continued to attack the monster while it was still in pain.

One slash in its thigh. One in the ankle. One at its neck from the back. He was jumping and shifting places to strike it from different angles.

Finally, the beast couldn’t take it anymore and collapsed on its knees.

Leon jumped from the back and shoved the sword in its neck.

Schlk!

Thud! It slammed on the ground, kicking up ice shards and snow.

The other one was limping and trying to run away. But Leon finished it as well.

By the end of it, he had doubled over, gasping for air.

"Phew!" He stood up straight and walked toward the first monster core.

Gulp!

[You have absorbed Qi.]

[Qi: 2,502,000/5,120,000]

He picked the second one as well. Gulp!

"N-nice." Leon’s breathing was still uneven.

"Each one provided me 800,000 Qi."

Leon was exhausted, but his mood brightened. "Let’s go raise my Qi some more, shall we?" Saying that Leon started walking enthusiastically. But just when he had crossed barely 20 metres, he felt something.

A strange familiarity. An odd feeling as if something was calling to him. Something familiar.

He looked to his right. "This feeling! Have I been here before?" He whispered and turned toward that direction automatically.

"Should I go and have a look? But what if it’s a trap?" Leon fell into deep thought.

But after a while, he looked straight ahead. "I will just go and have a look."

Leon started walking in that direction.

[Cold Resistance has increased slightly.]

[Cold Resistance has increased slightly.]

His eyes narrowed. "Hmmmm? Am I walking toward even a colder zone?"
